  1. They will. Can you math? Only 27% of the population is unvaccinated. The total number is also dropping. So it's not like scores of vaccinated people are getting ill. And there are vaccinated people who don't respond to the vaccine because of co-morbidities. See Colin Powell this week with a Cancer that effected his immune system.
  2. Do you have evidence they aren't? https://ktla.com/news/local-news/refrigerated-trucks-arrive-in-l-a-as-bodies-pile-up-at-hospital-morgues-amid-rising-covid-19-death-toll/
  3. Generally? Things happen in waves. Over the last two summer Southern US states certainly faced dire hospitalization situations. This Spring, Ontario ICUs were overflowing. Remember the situation in New York and Italy in the early days of the pandemic? Dead people packed in Freezer Trucks?
  4. Watching the news is not a mandatory activity.
  5. That's bullshit. Go take a look at the current state of Hospitals in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
  6. And what would your solution to that be?
  7. In the UK, cases go up but because of high vaccination rate the ICU numbers stay relatively low. But you'd say it's evidence that Delta is no big deal. Yet parts of the US and Canada are still tackling with historically high Hospitalizations. Alberta and Saskatchewan being the prime example. Places in Canada and the US that have relatively high vaccination rates and have maintained public safety measures are relatively low. Yet still in Ontario today. Only 300 cases reported. 2/3 unvaccinated. https://www.cp24.com/news/ontario-reports-304-new-covid-19-cases-four-additional-deaths-1.5630605
  8. I suspect the value of your home has more than doubled in 20 years.
  9. Hyperbole. No one is being forced. But there are consequences for not taking them.
  10. Not a Federal responsibility. JT didn't either. O'Toole praised Jason Kenney's handling of the pandemic. That's some awful judgement.
  11. Alberta got rid of masks early, now they're mired on COVID Hell. AND still had to implement a Vaccine passport. Masks aren't that big a deal. PCR testing for international travel on the other hand.
  12. People who bought an ICE car in the last 2 years simply weren't paying attention.
  13. Going to be a long time before unvaxxed can cross international borders without quarantining.
  14. This is evidence the policy is stupid. You just need a negative test!!!! You could have also been infected the two days after having the test. If you've even shared a room with a COVID positive person the government wants you to take 2 PCR test on the government's dime. There's no way these things cost $200. COVID-19 testing is a new cottage industry. We need to get to a point where getting COVID for vaccinated people is no big deal. Especially if you're young with low co-morbidities.
  15. The US will allow those with mixed and matched vaccine doses into the country. Fearmongering unrealized.

The "Big Boys" didn't because they had the supply up front.

It was a pragmatic approach to get people vaccinated ASAP. As an anti-vaxxer, I doubt you'd appreciate that. It's not required anymore, but it was prudent at the time.

And I know you want to ignore it, but studies have shown that it's effective.

Here's an article from your friends in Sweden.

People who had received a first dose of the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine and received an mRNA vaccine for their second dose had a lower risk of infection compared to people who had received both doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine. This is shown in a nationwide study performed by researchers at Umeå University, Sweden.

“Having received any of the approved vaccines is better compared to no vaccine, and two doses are better than one,” says Peter Nordström, professor of geriatric medicine at Umeå University. “However, our study shows a greater risk reduction for people who received an mRNA vaccine after having received a first dose of a vector-based, as compared to people having received the vector-based vaccine for both doses.”

The date on the article is October 2021.  Do you have a cite before this? One that would have been available at the time they decided to mix ‘n match? Or did they just take a gamble with your life.

Thats the problem, when I say reckless approach. The fact it worked out for the better does not preclude this.

Here's one from June citing the research used to make the decision.

The updated NACI guidance is based on emerging research from Spain and the United Kingdom that found mixing and matching AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccines was both safe and effective at preventing COVID-19.

CBC News first reported the details of the recommendation changes Tuesday morning, based on information from sources with direct knowledge of the decision who spoke on condition of anonymity. The details of the shift in guidance were confirmed publicly by officials from the Public Health Agency of Canada during a news conference Tuesday afternoon.

I'm not sure why you're upset for people who eagerly took the AZ vaccine ASAP.

You just want to complain about something? There certainly no mandate at the time and short of some isolated cases of blood clots, the AZ vaccine still has proven to be quite safe. ALSO everyone who took the AZ vaccine knew the risk at the time.

  16. The US will consider mixed dose Canadians as fully vaccinated. https://www.ctvnews.ca/health/coronavirus/travel-industry-health-experts-applaud-u-s-decision-to-allow-travellers-with-mixed-doses-1.5626005 Another bit of ill-considered fear-mongering from the Anti-Vax crowd on this forum.
  17. We have seen them lifted. Notice full hockey games again? They said they want to wait 3 weeks until after Thanksgiving to notice any appreciable spike before removing limits on Gyms, Theatres and restaurants. Of course Anti-Vaxxers are still are not permitted at these establishments. Which is a good thing. I doubt you're going to see Mask mandates go away in the near future. The big restriction I want removed is the requirement of a PCR test to enter the country. But when you have provinces like Saskatchewan, NB and Alberta still in the midst of this fourth wave, you won't see the Feds lifting that requirement until COVID is under control nationally.
  18. General Colin Powell dies of the Rona.

He probably did. He may not have had a lot longer anyway but Covid tipped him over the edge.

It’s too bad the same standard would be applied to other deaths not just Colin Powell.  It could be pointed out the majority of the time that anyone that dies of covid related problems is generally older and in poor health.

His condition could have been stable until he caught Covid. It's too bad the anti vaxxers won't recognize that.

  19. I've always voted for the CPC. Until this time. And my vote wouldn't have mattered O'toole still did awfully in Suburban Toronto. It was the COVID stuff that spooked me this time. When you're worried about offending Anti-Vaxxers, that's a problem for me.
  20. QR Codes are here!!! https://www.cp24.com/news/new-vaccine-certificate-qr-codes-will-be-made-available-over-next-3-days-province-1.5624185
  21. Very shot gun approach. Impressive, must have taken a long time. I hope you aren't expecting analysis on each link. Here's one selected at random. https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/vaccinated-people-singapore-make-up-three-quarters-recent-covid-19-cases-2021-07-23/ The ultimate goal here a "society" where COVID infection amongst vaccinated is something not even noticed. The other statistical thing worth noting is that most countries have entered the zone where the vaccinated greatly outnumber the unvaxxed. So it's statistically it's likely that more would get infections. If sickness and hospitalizations are going up. Nothing to see here.
  22. I don't particularly want to support JT all that much. It would be smart for the Liberals to remove him. BUT!!! The Conservatives are too bound by fringe Right-wingers to gain political points in parts of the country that matter. Most of the country do not want a PM that's sympathetic to anti-vaxxers.
  23. Ahh so do the homework for you, I have to re-type that long URL. ? That's more of a Meme than a cite. Here's a cite. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/sep/13/fully-vaccinated-people-account-for-12-of-englands-covid-19-deaths See that Guardian article has a source for the information. https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/birthsdeathsandmarriages/deaths/articles/deathsinvolvingcovid19byvaccinationstatusengland/deathsoccurringbetween2januaryand2july2021
  24. That's not a cite, that's a screen shot with no accompanying link.
