  1. Wages need to catch up to the cost of living. When we talk about entitlements, 30 or 40 years ago, people could actually live off a low skilled job. That's impossible now. There was an article this week that it's actually impossible for someone making $75k to buy a home in Toronto. https://toronto.ctvnews.ca/you-make-75-000-per-year-will-you-ever-be-able-to-afford-a-toronto-house-1.5647845 There are a variety of reasons for that, but paying service sector workers $15/hour is not one of them.
  2. Well guess what? Paying South of $15/hour is also a major culprit in the labour shortage seen in the service sector.
  3. The price of living has long since blown passed a scenario where $15 is even a livable wage.
  4. In this climate, $15 is certainly the bare minimum you should be paying anyone in Ontario. McDonalds already pays that.
  5. You can travel, just be prepared to quarantine without a vaccine.
  6. I know this and I generally avoid using CNN as a cite.
  7. And you've been keeping track?
  8. I can dispute all that. But you'd dispute my premise. I think the MSM narrative is tired. The MSM just provides a source. Like a study. You'd have to discredit the study or the people providing the information. For example: https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/conditions-and-diseases/coronavirus/is-the-covid19-vaccine-safe Not MSM. Not Leftist AFIK. Is this just spouting MSM dogma? Vaccines are safe and effective. You don't believe that. It's fine. Some people don't believe the Earth is Round.
  9. This is where modern discourse falls a part. Facts are in dispute. It's why polarization is so stark.
  10. Let me guess. One involves Kavanaugh.
  11. Well a forum like this is a very very concentrated view of different political opinions. I engage as more as a hobby than a critical analysis of what's really important IRL. Kind of like the Comments section under a Newspaper article. Political leaders know this. That's why the PPC was the only party that really embraced Anti-Vax ideology.
  12. Or they can pout in the corner. No one really is listening to them.
  13. "Surge Bed" aren't things you really want for ICU patients. Regardless, to expand capacity something has to be taken from somewhere else. And note: Saskatchewan had to send patients to Ontario, because their ICU capacity was full.
  14. Cite some advanced economies that have open borders without COVID restrictions.
  15. I guess you "Can". You probably still have to quarantine though.
  16. It's less about the plane and more about the international border.
  17. No it's not essential. You probably won't be able to travel internationally without a Proof of vaccination for quite some time.
  18. That's some bubble you live in. ?
  19. You could say the same thing about taxes. Feel free to pretend you live in some fascist state.
  20. Yeah, Out-of-Control COVID Hospitalizations will do that. But yeah, it was all a long game by Kenney and Moe.
  21. I think our definitions of "authoritarian crackdowns" differ greatly.
  22. That's not been shown to be the consequences of forgoing the vaccine. No one is being denied essential services. For those that lose their employment. . . should the employer not have the right to provide a safe workplace and safeguard against lost time due to COVID. Workplaces already have strict mask mandates.
  23. No that wouldn't happen. Again heart disease isn't communicable. But if this fictional vaccine existed, wouldn't insurance be effected for those that refused to take such a vaccine. Similar to how smokers have to pay higher insurance.
  24. Well if there was a vaccine for heart disease, don't you think everyone would take it?
  25. Articulate how you'd do that?
