  1. A friend noted this as well, wondering whether Trudeau found it so difficult to summon sympathy/empathy for the actual victims that he had to find a way to personalize the situation. It's seemed to me over the past several days that the government would rather this incident just disappear. Does it now just consider this kind of thing a 'cost of doing business' in an interconnected world? If so, perhaps it should let the rest of us in on this. Trudeau's oddly detached statement on citizen safety, devoid of any explanation, was particularly worrying as he seemed to be admitting that such safety doesn't now exist. If I were him, I'd be very worried lest Canadians start to connect the dots and conclude that this government hasn't been particularly concerned about their security.

  2. Contrast this heinous act with a far less serious act - quickly proven to be a hoax. Where is Justin Trudeau's outrage - not to mention everyone else - who in the hijab hoax case immediately (within a few hours) jumped to conclusions with absolutely no police verification that in fact, a crime had occurred. How quickly and conveniently they all "forget". And - oh yes - the same spin doctor for Faisal Hussain chirped in with his two cents (thanks to that Dog on the Porch). Why is this the case? 3. The likelihood that the mental illness explanation/theory is viable weakens with each passing day as authorities continue to tell us virtually nothing about the investigation. Mental illness claims and concerns would have been relatively easy to establish in the time period that's passed since the shooting. I think it relatively safe, therefore, to significantly discount this theory. Unfortunately, as Heather Mallick pointed out in a recent column, in the vacuum that's been created by official silence concerning the investigation the left has elevated the shooter to victim status by embracing the mental illness theory. To call this outcome perverse is to vastly understate its implications.

  5. Well, they released Tommy Robinson today on appeal, pending an actual hearing. The appeals judge seemed to feel 5 hours from arrest to sentencing was a bit of a rush and may not have allowed him adequate time to consult his attorneys and such. Also, no one ever wrote down what exactly he did that was illegal. Progressive police let Pakistani rape gangs rape thousands of young girls for years without intervening, but one white guy who tries to report on one of the trials gets yanked off the street and slammed it jail so fast they forgot to even say what law he broke. And that's why the Court of Appeal ruled that Robinson's second conviction in a year for contempt of court was flawed. In essence, the five hours from arrest to sentence at Leeds Crown Court was rushed. Robinson wasn't told what specific parts of his activity at the court had been potentially prejudicial to a jury - meaning nobody to this day knows exactly what he did wrong. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-leeds-45029755

  6. I believe that SOME Muslims are a threat to Canadian culture and safety - esepcially the ones who have a huge stockpile of a CHEMICAL WEAPON, enough to kill everyone in Canada. And an arsenal of guns. And it seems that you are the one who believes anything on the internet, as long as it is said by a Muslim - including a suspicious spin doctor with ties to radical Islam who makes claims of mental illness that have not been verified. But ya, you continue laughing about all this. Really hilarious.

  7. Almost enough to kill every Canadian twice. EMT's and police have had to treat themselves with Naloxone after just being in contact with someone who is overdosing on this stuff. So when a journalist reports that this turd's brother overdosed on heroin and cocaine and some other substance and speculates that the other substance could have been the 42 kilos of carfentanyl that was in the house, that seems a reasonable speculation to me. It also seems reasonable to me that 50 million doses of this stuff wasn't meant for selling on the street.

  10. It continues to fascinate me how Trudeau, Wynne, the media and the usual progressive choir quickly amped up the rhetoric about a reported hijab attack that turned out to be a hoax. It's particularly jarring, on the other hand, that Trudeau and Co. have been virtually silent about circumstances relating to the Danforth shooting - which was a real event in case they haven't yet figured it out. Real people were injured and killed. They were certainly willing to rush to judgment in the first case but have been so very unwilling to even appear to speak openly about the second. Besides utter hypocrisy, what's going on here?

  16. Objective commentators have noted the increasing tendency to restrict speech in this country and replace 'free speech' with what is sometimes called 'acceptable speech' as if the latter is an acceptable substitute for the first. A very good article that addresses this point, written by Neil MacDonald, was published on the CBC's website during last year's M-103 debate. For some reason, this forum will not allow the link to be copied but you can search for the article under 'Neil Macdonald M-103' as I did. It will be interesting to see if Mr. Hardner comes up with anything to substantiate his assessment.

He desperately doesn't want the apparent connection between this terrorist attack and all the other events he has stuck his nose into coming to light. 24. Whether Trump is successful or not is secondary....Trump is the president and he was supported/elected to blow up the status quo...and departure from previous "norms" will always be perceived as a reckless threat. Previous presidents have also made drastic departures (e.g. Richard Nixon), and Trump will have his day just like all the rest. Trade friction between Canada and the USA is not new or even remarkable....except when Trump is involved ? The beauty in Trump's unconventional destruction is that he does telegraph every move, and his opponents are still unable to take the point position away from him. Trump is driving the trade agenda more than any other national "leader".

  36. Quantity of a substance can show the intention of the person possessing it. The quantity of a drug found in someone's possession is used to differentiate between simple possession, and trafficking. Same goes for the amount of money they might have on them when arrested in possession of a prohibited substance. Large amounts of money is used as evidence of trafficking. It's possible the case is bigger than we know, might include other people stlll at large and if that's true, authorities will not tip their hand. In fact, the silence from the authorities is unusual if it were due to mental illness and case closed. But who knows... we must wait and see.

  38. The idea that it can be used as a chemical weapon was already shown earlier in this thread, from multiple sources. I can't find my post though, for some reason it is no longer here. Probably because I didn't write anything else, just gave the information. Anyway here is the link I provided that shows this substance is recognized as a potential weapon, and raises concern that it might be used by terrorists. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carfentanil#Potential_as_a_chemical_weapon From the link- The toxicity of carfentanil has been compared to that of nerve gas, according to the Associated Press' article "Chemical weapon for sale: China's unregulated narcotic". The article quoted Andrew C. Weber, Assistant US Secretary of Defense for Nuclear, Chemical and Biological Defense Programs from 2009 to 2014, as saying "It's a weapon. Companies shouldn't be just sending it to anybody." Weber added "Countries that we are concerned about were interested in using it for offensive purposes... We are also concerned that groups like ISIS could order it commercially." Weber described various ways carfentanil could be used as a weapon, such as knocking troops out and taking them hostage or killing civilians in closed spaces such as train stations.[3] Underlined part is my emphasis, to give it credibility.

  44. I suspect the Libs will stay as far away from debate on their immigration and refugee policies as they can possibly manage to do. Their policies aren't big vote getters among the general population and as studies have indicated are even less likely to be so when the public is informed about the true extent and costs of these programs. The Lib approach has been to stifle debate and cast themselves as the keepers of truth and wisdom on these matters for so long that it's inconceivable they'd be open to actual rational public debate. It just won't happen.

  45. The problem of atheists is that they are believers of evidence/proof. Evidence and proof however are a delusion (a very powerful delusion). Humans mostly rely on faith to get to a truth. Flying spaghetti is the lack of serious human witnessing/testimonies. This lies the fundamental difference between God and flying spaghetti or Zeus. Atheistic thinking is heavily based on the term evidence. They are educated or rather indoctrinated to think that evidence should be the way in confirming a truth. However this is not true in reality. Evidence, other than science, comes scarcely that humans (in majority) don't actually rely on evidence to approach a truth. They rely on faith instead to get to a truth. This is where the flaw of atheistic thinking is, due mainly to the indoctrination of secular education.Science can be evidenced simply because science is always about a phenomenon which can repeat (infinitive number of times) for humans to do their speculations/observations unlimited number of times. This kind of repeatable truth (i.e., scientific truth) is a very narrow and limited set of truth. Our secular education however mistakenly treats it as the norm of what a truth is. That's why we (atheists that is) keep asking for evidence in backing a up claim in order for it to be considered a truth. In reality, we can't even back one out of the million meals we ever had with evidence. It is because "what we ate" is not something which can be repeatable as a science is. 7 billion humans (not to count those already died) can't even back up one of his past meals with evidence. That's how insignificant evidence is. We don't practically approach a fact of this kind (not repeatable) with evidence. We approach it with faith instead. You simply tell us what you ate such that we can believe with faith to know what you ate. What we actually examine is your credibility and reliability instead of evidence. If you are a friend I can trust, I swallow it right away without a second thought. This flash of a second in getting to a truth is the efficiency of what faith is, in terms of approaching a truth (i.e., what you said about what you ate)!Do we have an alternative way to get to know what you ate? Unfortunately we don't. Science/evidence etc. won't tell what you ate, say, on Jul 11, 2012. Someone wrote down what you ate that day and for others to believe with faith, that remains the only way we could possibly know what you ate.

  46. There's a good article in today's Globe and Mail, written by an immigrant, about the illegal/irregular migrant issue. (See link, below) The author of the piece notes that Trudeau's stance on this issue has the effect of undermining the seriousness of Canadian citizenship itself: "We could, and should, have an honest debate about the consequences of the PM’s grandstanding in encouraging migrants to cross over in the first place, and his seeming reluctance to defend the integrity of Canada’s borders publicly. What is irrefutable is that his words betrayed a lack of seriousness about the value of Canadian citizenship." The author goes even further in noting the consequences of Trudeau's self-serving and hollow approach in stating that "[he] is increasingly likely to lose [immigrants'] support in 2019 by willfully diminishing the values of new Canadians and replacing them with his own. Then he expects them to be grateful for it." Ouch. I think it's time for a fresh look at damage being done by our 'poseur-in-chief' and by 2019 it will be well past time to dispatch him to the dustbin of political history. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/article-justin-trudeaus-gamble-on-immigrant-voters/

  47. I challenge your own superior skills at reasoning to figure it out. I took numbers from the sources as demonstrated AND with your own FAITH of what another had spoken of without yourself knowing enough about the statistics. If you sincerely want anyone's intellectual feedback, you can't threaten them when you're proven at fault for some argument . I'd have further attempted to calculate this too with your own different data and now you are left to present the mathematical argument yourself. Since you have fault with the source of my own statistics (using 12 churches), then challenge THAT source in argument, not present alternative ones. It reduces to a he-said-she-said if you can't explain why that source you distrust is wrong and why your own is better. My math above was correct GIVEN the sources I quoted. And there is no other way to prove anything more for either of us if we can't KNOW the accuracy of which source is more trustworthy or not.
