  1. There are many Asians living in poverty in the United States. But you’re certainly right, the reason why successful Asians are successful is not institutional racism. But I’ve never been arrested by a cop for picking up trash in front of my house.

  2. It's not a little insult. Nor is it subtle. I just honestly believe you are a profoundly stupid person. ^^Look at that post. Despite multiple explanations over multiple threads, you still have no idea what white privilege is. It's like the information just bounces off of you. For sake of illustration, it would be equally stupid if you said that racism wasn't real, just point to a single law that proves racism. Which is to say, very, very stupid.

  3. You are mistaken, on multiple points. I know this all feels new and fresh and exciting, but most of what it bouncing around the conservative echo chamber is based on misunderstanding and misinformation. It's like I said a few days ago, there is nothing in those "Twitter email dumps" that is even a little bit surprising, let alone damning. That's going to be conversation at any large organization, particularly at a public content platform that engages in moderation. The laptop story was shut down for 1 day. Both in the documents- and as Taibbi's explicitly says in his commentary -there is no evidence of government involvement in the laptop story. And literally any organization or individual with enough clout can reach out to Twitter's moderation team and ask them to look into something. As Taibbi notes, both campaigns made such requests. -- And FWIW, only Trump was "the government" at that time anyway. There's a whole lot of nothing going on here. It's always possible that new information could change that, but today there just isn't anything here.

  4. I don’t know what’s worse: The horrors of slavery, or the fact that this doesn’t even phase you. Documented proof? Sure, no problem! The practice of slave children, even babies, being sold is so well documented that the Smithsonian devoted an entire exhibit to it. You can also read Frederick Douglass’ book. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/retropolis/wp/2018/05/31/barbaric-americas-cruel-history-of-separating-children-from-their-parents/ “A mother unleashed a piercing scream as her baby was ripped from her arms during a slave auction. Even as a lash cut her back, she refused to put her baby down and climb atop an auction block. The woman pleaded for God’s mercy, Henry Bibb, a former slave, recalled in an 1849 narrative that is part of “The Weeping Time” exhibit at the Smithsonian’s Museum of African American History and Culture, which documents the tragic U.S. history of enslaved children being separated from their enslaved parents. “But the child was torn from the arms of its mother amid the most heart-rending shrieks from the mother and child on the one hand, and the bitter oaths and cruel lashes from the tyrants on the other.” Her mother was sold to the highest bidder. Enslaved mothers and fathers lived with the constant fear that they or their children might be sold away. “Night and day, you could hear men and women screaming … ma, pa, sister or brother … taken without any warning,” Susan Hamilton, another witness to a slave auction, recalled in a 1938 interview. “People was always dying from a broken heart.”

  5. Name ANY law on the books TODAY that gives Caucasian Americans more rights than black America. (And I'm sorry, but I'm not going to INSULT black Americans by calling them African Americans. That suggests they need a hyphen. Blacks in America have earned better.) Name the law. Here's the federal statutes. https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/te=7- Of course the black family unit is practically destroyed. 70 percent of all black children today are born in single parent homes. And this is the white racist SOB who is responsible. So Jews in America are highly successful, well educated and have intact families. Why is no one claiming Jewish Privilege? (Or do you think this guy is not white?) Actually Asians in America have the highest incomes, the largest concentration of college degrees and most intact families. Why aren't goose stepping Woke activists claiming Asian privilege? Ask yourself when the black family was more intact? In the Forties and Fifties during the Democrat Party Jim Crow laws or today? https://libertarianinstitute.org/economics/lbj-great-society-war-on-poverty-welfare-state-helped-ruin-black-communities/ In some ways there HAS BEEN white privilege, in that blacks in America HAVE been the victims of white policies. (See the racist Texan redneck above.) Certainly, blacks were drafted to serve in the Vietnam War, (expanded by Johnson.) So there's a little something for everybody. And maybe we should call this LIBERAL LEFT WING PRIVILEGE. Or does ANY Wokestepper here even understand the concept at all.

  6. Seriously? I have to "prove" that Black Americans have been and continue to be treated unfairly? That's really an open question for you? I've linked to multiple studies in this thread- among hundreds on the subject -but those will be hand-waved away, I'm sure. Because honestly, if people aren't already aware of the unfair treatment it's not because of a lack of research. That's not the barrier. Perhaps obliviousness? Naivete? Willful ignorance? At any rate, it rather neatly proves my point about empathy. It's downright sociopathic to stand in the midst of a throng crying- and crying out -about mistreatment and not take that shared experience even a little to heart. I'd place a bet that you could name literally any aspect of society, from access to jobs, housing, food, education, justice--whatever--and it'll take about 30 seconds to find the studies identifying the systemic racism at work. Wanna play that game? Try a few for yourself. Take a look at the data and tell me that if you were to be reborn tomorrow, with no control over your circumstance save the choice of "race," that you would choose to be reborn as anything other than white. It's not even a close contest. The social advantages are built into the skin color, bestowed by accident of birth.

  7. Excuse me, but the very government that created and legislated the Jim Crow laws HAS BEEN DEAD FOR OVER A CENTURY. Earth to child: EVERY SLAVE IS DEAD. EVERY SLAVE TRADER IS DEAD. The victims and the perpetrators are both DEAD. NOBODY alive today bears any responsibility for what happened back then. And all you have to do to prove otherwise is FIND THE LAW IN THE U.S. CODE that gives white people an advantage over black people. Find the law or admit you are wrong and do not know what you are talking about.

  8. Isn't interesting how good the right-wing dingbats are at inventing far out, weird, strange, unproven, improbable, desperately important fantasies? It has gotten a lot worse since Washington, DC legalized pot. "We are Republicans and conspiracy is our game" should be printed somewhere on their business cards. Nobody is better at wacko world attention capture. Their groupies go ape-shit crazy over every new category of conspiracy theory with heartfelt hyperventilating hysteria. Fortunately for their mental health, they are incapable of riding any one of their dead horses very far. It's like watching someone kick a big ant mound. Suddenly, out of apparently nowhere, seemingly 10's of thousands of ants come swarming out looking for a fight. They don't much about why or who but they know "that’s what we do." It's as if the right-wingers are constantly trying to find another cartoon character to replace Wile-E Coyote as America's number 1 enemy. Unfortunately, those right-wingers are a darn site better at entertainment than government. Someone should suggest that the right-wing dingbats in the House and Senate should take a pay cut as they are only working at governing part time. However, when their orange jesus does a face plant, they are always ready to send in the clowns.

  9. Wow, I'm surprised you'd make such accusations against the Trump administration without evidence. Or maybe musk you the files he didn't sent to Taibbi? Taibbi tweeted "there’s no evidence — that I've seen" that the federal government had a role in suppressing the Hunter Biden laptop story, but that "the decision was made at the highest levels of the company, but without the knowledge of CEO Jack Dorsey, with former head of legal, policy and trust Vijaya Gadde playing a key role."

  11. While folks passionately defend their POV there’s a prevalent short-sightedness or perhaps it’s an unwillingness to admit who the biggest losers in the long run will be: 1. USA 2. EU 3. NATO 4. Ukraine 5. Russia Let’s see if the USA finally stops interfering in other countries’ business and stops with the proxy wars. There’s a massive contradiction that in the land of the “brave” the strategy has always been to “fight them there, so we don’t have to fight them here”… something only cowards would do. It’s so easy to be a war hawk while sitting in the comfort of your living room.

  12. Would you like to make up some evidence to discuss now? Otherwise what are we even talking about? Is there some sort of credit system for outrage? -- "I wanna be angry about something today. I'll probably find some evidence to support my anger in the future." You seem to be in quite a huff about this whole twitter thing. You're making a lot of accusations. But you don't seem to have any evidence to support either the huff or the claims.

  13. Pretty harsh. If I don't agree with you on everything I must be the devil right? I don't agree with throwing gays off buildings or whatever else they do in the Muslim world with that community. I also don't want the LGTB+++ stuff constantly shoved in my face. Nor do I think it's appropriate to force it on children in schools. How about concentrating on math, science and English instead? Diversity and inclusion which you guys always preach also includes other religious faiths that may not look upon the LGTB+++ lifestyle favourably. Or is your precious diversity and inclusion more intolerant than you want to admit?

  14. False. We know that there were very small and isolated cases of voter fraud on the part of both Republican and Democrat voters, but these few dozen votes didn’t nearly sway the outcome of even a single precinct. To repeat: The small amount of fraud that occurred was equally Republican and Democrat.

  15. I agree that there is plenty of anti-Asian racism in this country. I've seen too many horrific videos of Asians being attacked. But I also must point out that it seems that most of those attacks against Asians were perpetrated by African-Americans. And that doesn't really get mentioned much by the news media. Asians do well because they tend to work really hard at everything. They are great role models for the rest of us in that way. You didn't comment on the fact that throughout history, lots of whites were also enslaved in the past. It's safe to say that people of every race endured the horrors of slavery at one time or another. Thomas Sowell pointed out that slavery wasn't about a certain race being targeted so much as only people that happened to be vulnerable.

  16. Of course there is. We put Asian people in camps in the 20th century. The logic seems to be "if people do well financially then racism doesn't exist" It's a troll and this whole thread starts by asking to prove a negative which is also a troll. The troll factor is starting to track like insect parts in a Taco Bell Gordo Burrito w/extra aphids...

  17. False. Thomas’ role in the federal government was as director of the EEOC, and he was nominated to the SCOTUS to fill the position of African American Thurgood Marshall.

  20. Everything is being affected by that. Nobody to take over the autobody shop, nobody to hire to do the work, no one to work at or take over the autoglass place, the cafes, the clothing store. Been looking for doctors here for decades, can't even get nurses for the new hiospital under construction. Started a nursing program at UNBC years ago to address needs seen 10 years ago, we needed 5x as many programs 5 years ago to come close to the needs today. School closures because there's no more kids in the neighbourhood my kids grew up in. More people & homes there - but a quarter the kids there were 30 years ago. Nobody planned ahead, let alone for the health & employment disaster of the last few years. One local doctor tried to retire 15 years ago, but had to keep working. Trued again to semi-retire and ended up giving up his seat on Council as he was needed again in the local practice. My own doctor came from Namibia, loves it here but he's past retirement age now too. Should be able to enjoy his hobby farm and slow down, but he can't.

  21. You CERTAINLY implied that something MOMENTUS was going to happen on last November's election day, but it almost completely FIZZLED. Otherwise your perpetual reference to the date was just your INSANE WISHFUL FANTASY. I don't expect that you WILL EVER provide an alternative explanation that makes any sense.

  23. I don't know if I'm ready to jump on the Tom = Mike wagon based on this post. He was dead-on with the equity is Commie talk point. But somebody was talking McConnellesque uniparty talk on another thread. Was that Tom? In any case, WCM, I'm on board with you on what's above that and I would like to head off the first dummy that's learned a new term without considering what it means and tell them that's not "whataboutism." That's saying when an offense is so aggressive it demands a reaction the gloves come off. The phrase "equal and opposite reaction" comes to mind.

  26. Your thread title and the opening line of the "information" in your post (ie, "when he signed new legislation that widely bans public expression of their identity in the country") are unsupported by the description of his actual legislation. The inference in both of those places is that individuals can't express their LGBTQ identity in public, but the actual quotes about legislation just refer to advertising, movies, social media and outlets visible to minors. There's nothing at all there that says individuals can't express their LGBTQ identity in public. In fairness, it's a threat to life itself for people to openly display the fact that they're gay in Russia, and IMO Putin likes it that way and his people know it, but instead of telling the truth about that you made comments which are less serious and less than accurate, as always. FYI it's not hard to come up with more serious and demonstrably true accusations against Putin and the harm that his actions and words have caused to gay people in Russia. Why do you find it necessary to lie about something that you could have been honest about?

  27. No, but I believe in you, CrackHoBarbie! I think you’re misreading who’s saying what. It started with me saying that it’s crazy that millions worship a story about guy who heard a voice inside his head commanding him to murder his son.
