Oh, so it's something you tell me you heard somewhere but can't actually show anybody. As you wish, then... Clicking back to 'don't care' mode. Whatever it is, I doubt it's much of what you're suggesting. Assuming something like it actually exists.2 points

They’re actually in first place. They’re living with the virus and recognize that for the vast majority of people, it’s nothing more than the cold and flu. They’re recognizing that the amount of harm that comes from shutting down all of society every few months has significant consequences especially among children. They’re recognizing that it’s not the government’s job to protect them from covid anymore than it is to protect them from pneumonia, the flu etc. Covid is a significant threat to the obese, elderly and sick. And because of medical science, there are more people than ever, living longer, with serious health issues, and obesity. That’s why 94% of all covid deaths in the United States are 65+ with on average 2.5 serious health issues, according to the CDC.2 points

Omicron is taking us to Endemic. The genie is out of the bottle. My workplace, following provincial instructions, will no longer be contact tracing or informing the community we serve. Isolation requirements have been reduced for the vaccinated. Not even everyone who may have a possible Covid symptom will qualify for a test now. It’s becoming clear that we’re de facto managing Covid like the flu. Failing the screening just means staying home until you recover. You may not even get a test and your coworkers and clients won’t be informed. It’s the end of reporting total number of cases to government too. Basically it’s kept between people who report a positive test and public health. The vaccine mandates persist. Unfortunately so do the mask mandates— for now. Hopefully soon people will live as they want and make the choice whether to mask up and be in close contact with large groups, because everyone is likely to get Omicron eventually. If the hospitals aren’t overwhelmed and people have access to vaccines, that’s all that counts. Protect yourself as much as you feel you need to. Restrictions and border testing requirements should end soon, once it’s clear that society can function normally and manage the serious cases. Out of 1100 available ICU beds in Ontario, only around 200 are in use. Soon we should lift restrictions. I think governments are watching the vaccine availability and hospitalizations. I hope common sense prevails and we can leave the pandemic behind soon. Get your boosters if you’re worried. Wear your masks if you want. Otherwise live and let live.2 points

I don't know about that. I do know about Florida's reaction to the pandemic. There was a Delta variant surge that peaked in late August. About that time DeSantis started opening centers to make therapeutics accessible to Floridians. Cases and Deaths plummeted to become almost invisible. Then last week something weird started to happen with Omicron. Cases skyrocketed. Deaths however remain the lowest in America, per capita and possibly even just as an open stat. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/usa/florida/ This in spite of Biden attempting to horde the therapeutics and deprive Florida of them. Florida's Governor has thus far found work arounds. All this happened as Florida remained wide open. No restrictions.1 point

Okay, where would you rather live, China or Florida? In Florida the pandemic feels over. People are seeing who they want and going where they want. The vulnerable tend to mask up but not always. Sometimes people get very sick and more rarely they die, but they’ve focused on providing the best treatments for the hardest hit. The death rate has fallen and people feel free. In China people are locked into their apartments when there are small outbreaks and the restrictions and surveillance are brutal. Fewer people get and die of Covid there. Canada has followed more of the Chinese model than the Floridian. No thanks.1 point

I haven't heard about that one. Sounds interesting. Gotta link?1 point

1. No it's not. Just because you say it's immaterial, then it is? How can you live by principles that you can't articulate to me without a web site to explain? 2. You can certainly use the Bible as a basis for your morality, and guidance on policy matters. It's your reasoning that I find fault with; especially the idea that we're in decline or that Christians can't support LGBTQ rights or be Marxist. You support separate church and state by your own admission. I'm the same way. Trying to find a loophole for Divorce doesn't fly.1 point

Both are rooted in alleviating suffering and more like ritualized forms of psychology. Bhuddists in Tibet, who view their particular version as the highest form, were horrified at the amount of suffering they saw in the west.1 point

1. So is divorce. Should we disallow that? Is it a sign of our decline that we allow it? 2. I have done, and I'm in great shape thanks. 3. Jesus did not speak out against homosexuality in any direct way.1 point

liberalism was invented by Christians living in Christian societies without Christianity there is no liberalism the religious roots of western values and civilization is undeniable at least to anyone with a passing knowledge of the historical record the enlightenment is not atheist, it's protestant no matter what anti-religious zealots claim1 point

Joe Rogan Had the No. 1 Podcast in 2021 on Spotify (Podcast News Roundup) And what have you done lately that recommends you as a superior voice? Other than post some crackpot insult posts on an internet message board, I mean. Noobish and badly formatted, I might add. In any case all he did was ask questions. What is it about that, that bothers you so? Don't like people asking questions? Why doesn't that surprise me? Incidentally one of the questions he asked led to Doctor Malone explaining his contribution to the technology behind mRNA vaccines. I already watched it so I won't be needing some noob's instructions on how to look up that information on the internet. If you're curious though just scroll up and click the Joe Rogan clip. You might even impress somebody if you were ever to actually know something about what you're so second-childhoodish-ly dissing all the time.1 point

This looks like a step in the right direction. It makes no sense to count and record obsessively the cases that are asymptomatic. Ontario is now putting a halt to obsessive testing. We don’t need to know these things. It fulfill the message I gave a while ago.1 point

I was really disgusted at the run-around I got for my family crossing back into Canada. It’s $225 US for a rapid PCR test in Buffalo. The ArriveCAN app is a horrific bureaucratic paperwork nightmare that almost no one over 70 or even 60 will be able to manage with ease. So we need vax passports, a completed app for our phones (no phone, no access to Canada), and outrageously expensive tests. I’m so disappointed in Canada and how our government treats its citizens. To cross into the US you just need a passport. Digital vaccine passports are nothing less than digital ID cards used to track and control citizens. Fight these draconian policies wherever possible. If I wanted to live in China I’d emigrate. How are the premiers signing off on this? Trudeau is a fascist. Ford, smarten up!1 point

nope enlightenment philosophy was invented by mostly religious people living in religious societies and Christian ones at that pretending otherwise is ahistorical atheism is not responsible for freedom quite the opposite historically speaking1 point

Go to to "Portal" to get your code, and it shows this: Due to high volumes on Ontario’s COVID-19 enhanced vaccine certificate and appointment booking systems you may experience longer than normal wait times to book an appointment or download an enhanced vaccine certificate with QR code. There may be limited access to COVID-19 vaccination appointments in your region at this time. Individual public health units are working to add appointments to vaccination centres on an ongoing basis. We thank you for your patience, and ask that you check back regularly or check for availability through other channels such as pharmacy, primary care settings, and walk-in clinics. https://covid-19.ontario.ca/proof-covid-19-vaccination This is some kind of a joke, right? Wasn't this on Saturday Night Live? So wait, the government is not issuing these documents in the form of laminated cards. You have to download it (no easy task, as indicated above), print it, and laminate it yourself. Don't have the computer savvy? Sorry Grandma, no access to public places for you. Maybe another family member can help you. Oh, you are alone? It's a pity. Move along. .... Thinking about the Covid experience on the whole, and where we all can see this is heading, one must ask- Can this farce get any sadder? I mean, come on. Answer yes. Yes it can.1 point

Get ready to present your digital identity if you want to do anything. No more fake printouts for those who've ducked getting the pseudo-vaccine. In other words no exceptions. Ontario residents will need a QR code to prove their vaccination status as of Jan. 4. That means starting next Tuesday, if you want to eat inside a restaurant, or sit in at a bar, movie theatre or other settings, proof of vaccination without a QR code won't be enough. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/hamilton/qr-code-hamilton-covid-19-1.6299207 It's the new arm-band.1 point

Well, now I'm curious about what kind or tendency of communism you're referring to here. Because the lessons of the past 150 years indicate that communist worker movements are very difficult to organize and hold together against outside attacks and dissension spawned within the movement. Factions break away every time some charismatic leader is miffed about not being selected for top leadership (Leon Trotsky) and figuratively, throws acid on the debates with other party leaders to deliberately increase the divide and lead a new movement that is the REAL communism. After the First World War, some capitalists realized that if necessary, it was better to create or allow a despot to take over government and divide the working people along sectarian lines -- appealing to nationalist, racial or religious sentiments, rather than on shared class interests. It's been said that the plutocrats who make up ruling oligarchies have divisions among themselves, but are the only economic class in a capitalist society who understands their class interests and needs for solidarity beyond grabbing short term profits. We might also need to ask today whether the biggest stumbling block in the way of socialism and workers movements is that the forces which serve capitalist interests, have become increasingly sophisticated in their propaganda and use of new technology to attack and marginalize socialists. By 'propaganda' I would especially include the development and widespread dissemination of psychologically manipulative advertising and marketing campaigns...first on television and now literally everywhere in the age of portable devices that are online 24/7, giving up information about us and our habits to the cyber-goons who spy on us for profit and surveillance purposes. Are we close to or already in a "1984" type of world where we won't be able to trust any information we receive from any source, and be unable to escape the clutches of our oppressors? Just asking! Hope it's not true.1 point
