  1. We will have to create an atmosphere on Mars when we can't even save the one we already have here.

  2. You’re not making any sense. We don’t have health care based on people’s lifestyle choices. That’s the whole point. But you Branch Covidians are steering things that way, for some bizarre reason.

  3. Conquer? It is other galaxies out there with completely different environments. All of them uninhabitable by humans to this point. You might want to preserve what we have here for a wee bit longer.

  4. I know. Kids, especially young boys/men, have a 4X greater chance of getting myocarditis than they do of dying of covid. It's bizarre to me that any parents would do this to their normal, healthy children. An experimental vax with zero long-term studies. I don't either. But it's being framed as a "selfish" issue to parents and then some parents are using the "selfish" angle to get their kids to agree. They are branded "selfish" if they don't risk their children's lives for octogenarians. From the comments on a lot of news articles about kid vaxxes, there are quite a lot of parents who feel the same. Most say they feel they were forced to vax, but they will no t allow their children to be. Things always change when they go after people's kids.

  5. Not if we sail to Mars. There is a world to conquer. Surely, technology will save us!

  7. Cougar is right about over population. The problem is the only way to mitigate climate change and over population is for humanity to make incredible sacrifices. I am afraid to say I don’t think democracy can bring that about. It is a problem that requires everyone to undertake the same sacrifices. People are not stupid, but we mostly lack the knowledge to make the choices. We are scientifically illiterate. We lack faith in science. Democracy gives everyone who doesn’t know, the power over people who do know. when I was born, we had a form of one world government. The sun never set on the British Empire, but it was unsustainable. The best way to overcome this, if we can, is a global overhaul of education. No one should leave school without a thorough grounding in mathematics, chemistry, physics biology and geography. It will be a massive investment and time is critical. A scientifically literate population tends to have fewer children and is better able to make informed decisions.

  8. There is a limit and it is called land surface. Keep killing the land paving it and no matter what energy you use, you will be screwed.

  10. We are burning fossil energy with, say 70% efficiency and it's causing huge problem for our (only) environment. Let's invent cool limitless and cheap source of energy, cold fusion, hot thermonuclear you name it. Then we increase consumption, given that its unlimited and free, 100 times and even with 95% efficiency it would be way more than what is causing problems now. No, energy is not the problem. The problem is billions years old, as life itself: first consume everything in sight, then think. It does not take into account that at some point you'll hit the hard limit; it just never thought about that.

  11. Once we develop cold-fusion and replace cars with transporter-beam technology, the sky’s the limit.

  12. hard-wired? When greed is hard wired, the desire to kill must be also hard wired. People killing one another or dying of plague is what kept the human population under control. Now we have laws that do not allow any of this to happen. So the current system no longer works. If you cannot plan your population and instead are basing your future on constant expansion/growth and increased consumption you are doomed (or f-ed to put it bluntly) The ONLY way to save our planet is through decreased usage of power, no matter what the source is. Mark my words.

  13. https://nomoresilence.world/pfizer-biontech/sean-daniel-hartman-pfizer-death-at-17-years-of-age/ Kind of a relief to know that this 17 year old didn't die from the vaccine, just a normal every day heart attack. Teens have them all the time. It's so common, I don't even know why his parents are upset.

  14. Not true. This is part of why the PCR tests are crap - They pick up coronavirus antibodies from previous coronavirus infections, including H1N1 and the common cold.
