“First of all, Mr. Trudeau, you seem oddly obsessed with provincial politics,” “There is a vacancy for the Ontario Liberal leadership. If you’re so focused on provincial politics, go and run for the leadership of that party.” Zing!3 points

It's actually based on their history. The British took their guns, they didn't like that, so they rebelled, and when they wrote the bill of rights, they put in the second amendment to help prevent it from happening again. A wise precaution, especially given their historical experience. Many of the second amendment haters simply do not know American history, and fail to understand the context for the second amendment as a result. The rest simply have an irrational fear of inanimate objects, and blame the tool for the actions of the people using that tool for nefarious ends.2 points

Other people have been shut down on this forum for using photos as you have. Your use of photos does not prove your point. That is what I am challenging your use of photos. You use photos to troll. You inflame the dialogue by trying to dominate the dialogue with pictures that are selective. That XUl makes you a Chinese Communist Party shrill. It makes you nothing more than a troll if you can't do anything but generalize that every single person in Kong Kong who protests is a criminal which has been your intent from the get go with the pictures. You bet I challenge you on that and using photos to inflame. Its been done on other topics and been shut down for far less photos. If its not now that inconsistency won't surprise me as trying to figure out what is considered trolling on this board has always been a fluid definition but I am saying clearly, showing picture after picture as you have does not prove your point at all, just the opposite and its trolling. What it shows is you are shrilling, i.e., screaming, i.e., calling out over and over again that Hong King protesters are all bad. It proves zero. That does not mean I am playing victim or making you one. I\. It means I challenge you as a one sided Communist sock puppet who can't grasp the concept of someone disagreeing with your beloved Communist Party. Its not a personal attack. Its an attack on your use of photos and smearing of Hong Kong dissidents and your selective one sided view You are not being personally attacked you use of photos and your pro Communist views that render you a sock puppet in favour of brutal force against Kong Kong dissidents that are challenged. I do not know you personally to be able to attack you personally. Further your attempting to excuse brutality by saying others do it is illogical. Since when is brutality excused by other brutality? What kind of brilliant reasoning is that? What that kind of attempt to defend your police's brutality shows is you know what your country does is brutal and try justifying it by saying we do it too. Really. You know what...I have said in this country when the police act excessively what do you think happens Xul? Do you see people put in political prisons? Are they shot in the stomach? Tell me as questionable as our police might be when was the last time they needed to shoot someone in the stomach point blank range at a rally? Thanks I think I have a safer chance in Canada of holding a rally that is non violent than in China. Tell me you really want to compare human rights records in China with any other country? Really? Go on then Explain how you handle your Muslims because your country criticizes Israel for how it handles the West Bank or how other countries handle Muslims so do tell us. How about Tibet.?How are things there these days for its people. Do they love living under Chinese rule? Here let me spell it out-your country engages in brutal totalitarianism and excessive force-the exact things your country accuses other countries of. I support the right of anyone to peacefully protest and your trying to show up all people protesting as criminals is bullshit. Have a nice day comrade.1 point

Anyways...Trump figured out that this was a regional conflict rather than anything threatening Western/US interests. Let the kids duke it out if that's their preference. The war NEVER ends in the Middle East. It's what Muslims do.1 point

The Kurds are also terrorists to Turkey...don't you know anything ? The Soviet Union was an ally too during WW2.1 point

President Trump should address the U.S. and explain his policy and reasons for leaving Syria, emphasizing what he did do so much more than President Obama and his fake "red line". Turkey is still a NATO ally. Canada can watch on the American networks just like they always do.1 point

Trudeau isn't the gold standard for judging world leaders by. We'd be better off if he had just taken a 4 year long, $5 billion vacation on the taxpayer's dime. If Trump was as bad as Trudeau the Republicans would have impeached him themselves.1 point

When Trump backed off the US's stance of deposing Assad, Assad got bold and gassed Kurds. Trump bombed Syrian fighter jets on the ground. Syria and Russia gave dire warnings of the consequences of another such foolish move and when they asked for another round of bombing Trump just bombed them again. Trump might take a step back but he won't allow Turkey to cross any serious lines. Trump won't likely attack a fellow NATO member but I think this is where Turkey gets kicked out of NATO and faces and economic throttling. Lol. Drama much? 9/11 happened because some people just can't stand Jews owning 1% of the middle east. Palestinians have been camped out in "refugee" camps for 70 years just to foment hatred against Israel. It has nothing to do with Americans pulling out of wars in the ME. They said "may", and they're Democrats. Their "absolutely certain" = "probably not". From your article:1 point

What part of "Canada cut and ran from Syria long ago" do you not understand ? Why is it America's job to stay in Syria while other nations refuse to do so ? It was a big disaster when Obama was president too and he did far less.....still love him ? You would never get across the border. Canada left Afghanistan too....typical.1 point

I'll admit that I'd be crapping my pants right now if I was a Kurd in Syria, but to be honest I don't truly understand each and every conflict over there. Given the MSM's track record for inaccuracy, how quickly people change sides over in the middle east, how much they all love killing each other, and how many terrorists they all have or secretly support, I doubt that many people in North America have a really solid understanding of what's actually happening. The war "against" islamic state involved countries that may or may not have actually been sympathetic to them, different rebel groups that took turns fighting everyone, maybe Russia really fights isis maybe not, Russia definitely fights US-backed rebels, Turkey has been accused of aiding isis, the Kurds have been accused of terrorist attacks against Turkey, Turkey has acted as a floodgate for "refugees" that most likely includes thousands of terrorists heading into Europe, etc. I guess we'll see how true Turkey stays to their word of not committing another genocide like the one they still deny against the Armenians, and then we'll see what the repercussions are if they cross a line with Trump. I don't think that Turkey is going to be a member of NATO for long. Maybe they'll be out of the EU as well but I would say that their NATO days are numbered for sure. If I just had to put my money on something in that region it would be that they're all losers.1 point

OK sure Canucklehead. It's normal for the family of a VP to get almost $3B in business from countries that the VP is heavily involved in. It's no big d if their family even flies overseas with them just to conduct business deals. I believe that Joe Biden didn't know that his son got hired to a $50K per month at Burisma over in the Ukraine, and that he didn't ever talk to him about it, and that it's possible that he golfed with his son and another member of the Burisma board but never knew about their job together, and that the fact that Archer wasn't a Ukrainian or an executive makes a big difference, and that the Ukraine didn't really need the loan guarantees so Biden's threat wasn't a motivating factor, and the fact that Biden admitted that he lied about his knowledge of his son's interest in Burisma isn't a big deal, and him firing the VP who investigated Burisma via threat was cool, etc. CNN said that it was all cool. Is there a higher level of authority than that?1 point

U.S. strike aircraft provided plenty of "dick" for close air support to the Kurds, so why did Canada's CF-18s leave ? Where is "western ally" Canada in the fight against ISIL ? Oh, training police in Mali, of course ! (So many police to train in the world.)1 point

So here's my take on Agenda 21, because I have read Maurice Strong's autobiography and for a period I studied major NGO's and international organizations. There is a very reasonable argument to be made that fighting climate change is important and GG emissions must be reduced such that global annual average temperatures don't rise by 2 or more percent. However, there is as strong an argument to make that the cost of fighting climate change to the extent that would make a meaningful difference, especially in a country as small as Canada, is economically onerous. Essentially governments must respond, but there is no appetite for the kind of response needed, unless you wish to move into a cave and renounce modern civilization, which is energy intensive. We always have to be careful with programs like Agenda 21 that demand results without at the same time requiring an open discussion about the means to achieve those results and the costs. I do think climate change can become an excuse for oppression, such as property collectivization and transfer of income from private individuals to the state in the form of massive taxation. If virtually all production has a carbon footprint, then a carbon tax, if honestly implemented, is a tax on existence. It's easy to see how this could morph into radical population control, and in non-democratic countries, outright population abandonment or containment. The wall along the southern US is an iteration of Hadrian's wall that will become a ubiquitous theme as the world population rises along with global temperature and the politics of fear surrounding it. One answer will be to stem the tide of immigration and protect your assets. There will be validity in this fear too. There will be those who try to mitigate the problem through macroeconomic planning, but nativist populism will see this as an undemocratic intrusion into local jurisdictions. There will be truth in this, yet global responses and agreements will also be necessary. Right now the rules of the game are being debated. The fear is that such global agreements create winners and losers. For example, China and developing countries win because the rules to which they have to adhere are more lenient than for developed western countries. This is the transfer of wealth out of the developed world that many people fear, for good reason. There will be debates about fairness, not unlike the debates elsewhere on this site about hiring policies. In the end, those with the means and power to set their own terms in this game will do so. While I do think we need global solutions, I think it's important for countries like Canada to always have the discretion and ability to break with the UN and even allies when it is deemed necessary by our people. That's why economic, and yes, military strength, are critical, to protect our sovereignty and be masters of our own destiny. We should not be allowing government to increase public debt to unsustainable levels or to transfer citizens' income in the form of taxation to non-Canadians and external affairs except where clear humanitarian and Canadian interests are at stake. Fighting climate change may be important, but only if by doing so we are furthering our overall interests. For now, implement the cheap low-hanging fruit green policies that clearly benefit the economy and quality of life, such as planning communities with workplaces and amenities close at hand, including a local energy and food supply. Change building codes to incorporate affordable green building systems. Build widespread rapid transit. These measures will reduce greenhouse gases and improve both the economy and quality of life without substantially raising the cost of living.1 point

Lack of capacity. Government can't solve the problem, has nothing to do with willingness, even if every single person was on board with whatever government measures you propose, it won't solve the problem. Stop looking to government as the solution, pro tip, that's feigning environmentalism to sell an anti-capitalist crusade and will exacerbate the climate issue.1 point

Well there is extremism there, but Bill 21 tries to solve that problem by suppressing all religion. Quebec has removed the crucifix from the legislature and she already eliminated Catholic education. Quebec jumps to extreme reactions like Bill 21 because by the end of the Quiet Revolution and in recent years, Quebec shed many of her cultural traditions. Quebec is basically following the Republic of France with Bill 21, a country with real problems with extremism.1 point

I don't disagree with that. I'm saying discriminating against white people and men etc. is not the answer. Now if you do, you better be 100% sure, not 99.9% sure, that there is discrimination going on in that specific organization, and that in every single case without exception the EXACT number that is calculated in that specific organization and in that specific position as resulting from discrimination is replaced appropriately and exactly by the affirmative action. Otherwise it's just as evil. But of course this is rarely done and people just pull quota numbers out of thin air. As for your CEO comment, we will likely never see equal #'s of male and female CEO's even with zero discrimination. The reason is 1. more men tend to go into business fields than women, just like there are more females who graduate and work as medical doctors than men, 2. women who go into business won't strive for CEO positions at the same rate as men because some take time out of the work force to have and raise children, as well situations like single motherhood and caring for elderly parents that takes up more personal time. Imbalances in gender and race are sometimes but not always due to discrimination. There needs to be solid data in each case, like the resume studies you referred to.1 point

As we discussed last night (Oct 7th), the USSR needed America to conduct its great offensives. The Soviets had almost no rubber...almost no gasoline...a chronic shortage of trucks and an appetite for steel, copper & aluminium that they couldn't fulfill themselves...hello USA & Lend Lease.1 point

It's pretty weird how many of our top 6 politicians have close-to-the-heart ties with terrorism. Trudeau lets islamic state terrorists walk around to "be powerful voices against radicalization", he paid Khadr, stopped bombing isis, let a convicted terrorist keep his citizenship even though he came here under false pretences, chums with J Boyle, refused to acknowledge that islamic state was committing genocide, won't say islamic state or ISIL or ISIS which is what they call themselves - he has to use a cute name that means nothing to Canadians, refused to call out anti-Semitism at the al quds day hate rally.... May shreiks "Omar Khadr you have more class than the whole fucking cabinet!" Singh chums with everyone from India who has dreams of blowing people up for Khalistan. I honestly thought that Sikh extremism wasn't really a thing, aside from one attack in the '80s, up until a few weeks ago. A full 50% of our 6 gov't leaders are very terrorist-friendly. I never though that I'd say those words.1 point

You talk about fake news, but it's just your own understanding that's the problem. Just because companies that his family runs bring in $2.5B in business doesn't mean that he personally gets $2.5 billion for himself. It means that his son, brother, etc get huge incomes that they wouldn't get if you weren't peddling something from the government. You should have been able to figure that out without me telling you. Secondly, there's no requirement that all the money that they make overseas has to come back to the US and get on the books. Just like Trudeau and his Finance Minister have offshore tax-haven accounts, it's also really really really really really really likely that Biden does too. And Hunter, etc. Devon Archer was tied to Burisma as well. The photo just shows Biden at a time when he stated unequivocally that he "didn't know that his son had a $50K/month job in the Ukraine and didn't talk to him about it", because everything was so legit.1 point
