  1. You know, it pisses me off that people have so little regard for corruption they're desperately looking for an excuse whenever their party engages in it. Nothing on that cite by the Red Star indicates corruption by the Harper government. Do you not even understand what it means? Do you need it explained to you?

  2. Everyone's a white supremacist these days, and it's this type of 'journalism' that drives the narrative... there's a piece here that speaks to it, although it's American. https://amgreatness.com/2019/08/12/the-white-supremacy-hoax/ The specter of white supremacy haunts America. Let us empower the government to crush it. Just yesterday, “the deplorables” were to be deplored because they were “racist, sexist, homophobic,” clingers to “God and guns,” and Russian dupes to boot. Today, the agility and unanimity with which our politicians and media—heck, the ruling class—have shifted to indicting roughly 72 percent of the population as white supremacists, likely violent, would fill with envy their homologues in China, Cuba, North Korea, and other tyrannical places. By comparison, Joseph Goebbels had sloppy message discipline. Not even the Soviets in their salad days were so “on message!”

  3. There's no evidence he knew a thing about it, nor that any of it involved his government. The accusation is idiotic.

  4. Keep digging that hole of lies - you're really on a roll today. Flat out - You. Are. A. Huge. Liar. And an Islamic propagandist. Yup, that's your whole strategy.

  5. Trudeau just doubles his divisive identity politics while demonizing Canadians who disagree with him as racist and bigoted. Heck, anyone who opposes his ISIS hug a thug reintegration plan is ‘Islamophobic’ even though it is offensive to millions of Canadians including those victimized by radical Islam. If he wins another term, he will announce consultations on racism which will be a sham as there will be a predictable outcome after which he will announce new oppressive legislation curbing freedom of speech etc. Then, he will smear critics of such legislation with the usual cries of racist, bigoted etc. further silencing dissent. He will do anything to hold onto power, including vilifying millions of people.

  6. Baloney. You just stated yesterday that it's irrelevant. Interesting. That's exactly what you claim about Islamic extremism - it barely exists and/or is created by conservatives.

  7. Uh, no, there wasn't any TV. There were no international flights, and mail and newspapers would take weeks to arrive. No phones either, in case you're wondering. You're trying to compare military propaganda during wartime to the long-observed behaviour of Muslims around the world and saying since the military propaganda was wrong the observed behaviour of Muslims around the world must be discarded. There's no logic to that. I'm not aware of any country on this planet in which Muslims are either the majority or are a substantial minority which does not have Islamic religious violence.

  12. What are we going to do with those benefits? Bigger Zoos for polar bears? It's like if we had said in 2006, if the edge funds collaps, it will affect only the americans and our economy will benefit from it. It's not exactly how it happened. All the points raised by Moody are only one angle of it. There are side effects that we may adapt for the best, but others are unpredictable. It's annoying to have a moral, really. I wish I could see it like the inertia-ists. They seem to be living so well with that. It reminds me what Ash in the Alien movie said about the creature. "I admire its purity. A survivor... unclouded by conscience, remorse, or delusions of morality."

  14. It was the head of CSIS who blamed it on right wing ideology, to which White Supremacy belongs. You can say that in your opinion, WS and incel are too different to be included inder the same classification. That's at least a better argument than screeching liar.

  15. What's also makes this hilarious is the number of times we've been informed by you guys just how deeply Islam hates liberal progressive thinking. Takes a conservative to know one I guess.

  16. Blaming the U.S. for failings in Canada won't work this time. Toronto now has a higher crime rate than New York City, and many illegal guns in Canada stem from stolen firearms, not cross border smuggling.

  17. Such a liar. You are exaggerating other, rare forms of terrorism to make it seem like islamic terrorism is on a similar level. You actually made a declarative statement to that effect and you were caught on a lie. Now you refuse to even acknowledge it. Instead of admitting that you told a lie you’re calling the half of the country that knew about islamic terrorism all along stupid, and gullible. Youre the one who gobbled up left-wing, islamic-apologist propaganda and spewed it here. I posted facts, and proof. You posted a bogeymen theory with a heaping side of bigotry. Yes, it’s bigotry for you to ascribe a widespread terrorist trait to a culture of people where it is virtually non-existent. The people who disagree with you are correct. You’re a bigoted propagandist and a liar.

  25. So, by your logic, if a white supremacist has a history of mental health issues then he can do an attack and you'll be of the opinion that it didn't have anything to do with his white supremacist affiliations? I call TOTAL bullshit. The Danforth shooter was raised in a religious family from the world's most religiously-bigoted country and he did what good jihadis do. It's not like it's a really long way between the dots, and they form a straight line. This is no conspiracy, it's obvious.

  29. How so... the RCMP did not lay charges against SNC Lavalin until 2015. And what do you mean, "deal with SNC-Lavalin"? That is not the PM's job. That's what the legal system and courts are for. Please explain how you think Harper was responsible and could have dealt with it under his tenure.

  30. Because during their 1948 war of extermination, the Mufti promised the local Arabs untold wealth if they'd just evacuate and let the Arab armies use total war to exterminate the Jews. They lost. Israel won. Lesson: Don't start wars then lose. Or better yet, don't follow one of Hitler's top Nazis on the run from the noose.

  32. Harper bears some blame here as well. SNC-Lavalin was in Libya when Harper was PM. Harper was PM from 2006 to 2015. He had a decade to deal with SNC-Lavalin. But that obviously was a failure. https://business.financialpost.com/news/rcmp-charges-snc-lavalin-with-fraud-and-corruption-linked-to-libyan-projects Again the issue with SNC-Lavalin is not a Liberal or a Conservative problem. It is a government problem as both parties have allowed SNC to get to this stage. This ia 20-30 year old problem that the government allows to continue no matter who is in power.

  33. That just illustrates your total ignorance regarding the topic at hand. The two attacks I’m referencing are recent and well-known. It’s not every day that we have a terrorist attack that kills more than 2 people. Where are your links to all the white supremacy terrorist attacks? Do I have to provide a link when I say things like 9/11 attack or PM Trudeau? Google “Toronto van attack” or “Danforth shooting”. Don’t play dumb.

  35. Islamic terrorism is pretty irrelevant in Canada, yet conservative media (and posters here) make a big deal of any misdeed by any Muslim anywhere in the world, and prophesy dire consequences to Canada. While I agree that white supremacist attacks in Canada are rare, they happen more often than Islamic attacks. And while nobody thinks all conservatives are racist, or even most conservatives, racist and white supremacist rhetoric and concepts are entering our media and culture through conservatives. And yet again here in this thread and the opening post, we see conservatives blaming "somebody else" for attitudes and behavior they support and encourage in every anti-immigrant and every anti-Muslim post they make. At the risk of being too reasonable, I would say that finger pointing is a major problem that prevents solutions. Simplistically blaming either conservatives or liberals is stupid. Conservatives are no more supportive of extremist behavior from White Supremacists than Liberals are supportive of extremist behavior from Islamists. We're all on the same page with respect to murdering innocent people to make a political statement.

  36. Apparently the best way to bring in migrants is to move them into rural areas, not the big cities. That has two advantages. In the short term it may avoid the problems with ghettoization. Long term, the dissolution of rural conservative culture. Example: A geographical path to integration? Exploring the interplay between regional context and labour market integration among refugees in Sweden If refugees have no useful workable skills, they will be given training. Free of course. We see this happening already now. https://www.unhcr.org/5a096c942eb.pdf Sweden is used as a case study for the examining the effects of mass migration in Europe. This idea is being taken up by Canada's Immigration Minister, Ahmed Hussen. 38. With due respect Cannuck we also have to remember the constitution was created to allow Quebec to be distinct. It was deliberate so some of this built in dymanic or tension is deliberate and meant to happen. The belief was the two identities through dynamic tension (on-going tension) would like say labour negotiations between management and unions create a synthesis of the two opposites creating an ever changing fresh identity. as opposed to two stagnated identities not feeling any need to change. So for sure we have pandering with Quebec but in fairness there is regional pandering to the Atlantic provinces and at certain times the West and Ontario although not lately. To be honest its BC that gets the real tale end so BC created an economy based on Chinese and Indian immigration investment. Alberta being so dependent on oil sands revenue was and is screwed by Quebec and BC as much as it is the feds. Sask and Manitoba with due respect are small agrarian economies and more screwed by world market conditions on potash, wheat, barley, rapeseed. Rapeseed was our no.1 export and Trudeau phacked that up good with China the no. 1 importer. Tar sands oil is dependent on world market prices as well and its the US expanding its extraction of oil in the US that has the most major effect. Alberta as well needs to diversify its economy. It got too damned dependent on tar sands revenue and all your eggss in one basket approaches are a weakness of both fed and prov government policies.

  40. Not so. Scientific American has a long history of presenting quality and groundbreaking science to the public. They wrote articles about radio technology, air travel and space travel well before those things became reality. They've published articles from scientists such as Albert Einstein, Linus Pauling, Jonas Crick among others. 150 Nobel laureates have published in Scientific American, usually before they received awards for their work. From Scientific American: "Generally speaking, Scientific American and Scientific American MIND present ideas that have already been published in the peer-reviewed technical literature." AllSides (Media Bias site) gives SciAm a rating of "Center". (For comparison, AllSides rates CNN as Left Center and Fox News as Right Center, Vox as Left and National Review as Right). Media Bias Fact Check says it is Pro-Science. Pro-Science sources "consist of legitimate science or are evidence based through the use of credible scientific sourcing. Legitimate science follows the scientific method, is unbiased and does not use emotional words." So why is Scientific American on the partisan conservative kill list? According to Wikipedia, SciAm had the audacity to criticize a book called The Skeptical Environmentalist, and in 2016 an editorial criticized Trump.
