If you been following the news, a member of the Grassy Narrows first Nation community, interrupted Justin Trudeau at a Liberal fund raiser. Justin Trudeau shouted at the protester "Thank You For Your Donation", as she was escorted out by security. Ya all know me as a hardcore fiscal conservative, and recently I have been coming down hard on natives. As a far-right conservative, I still believe all humans have the right to clean food, clean air, and clean drinking water. Industry needs to be held responsible for inappropriate contamination. We need to cough up some money, and fix this situation with the Grassy Narrows community. I don't think they should have to pay out of pocket for bottled water. Either we install a state of the art water filtration unit, or we truck in fresh water from another source. This should be non-negotiable start. I also the government must officially accept responsibility for failing to act. They have been given decades of warning, and I think if we can afford to give millions to Omar Khadr, we can do something for this community. We should give them a basic clinic, so members of their community can be treated for Mercury poisoning. You ask me, how much we should spend? In my opinion, we should spend $10 million to Truck in fresh water, build a simple clinic, and provide treatment for the community members. There are 800 members in the community, and I think $10 million is the least we should spend. That's $12500 per person. Coming from a person who has an extreme bias against natives, I still think children deserve clean drinking water. This is one of the rare cases, when a first nations community deserves a lawsuit. I would like to Andrew Scheer and the conservatives demand settlement. They can make up the money in other ways. Does anyone disagree?

You have to do a lot better than that . First of all go find out the difference between a fine and restitution payments to victims. Secondly there is no spotlight because evidence is released. Next Lavalin's workers that supposedly would lose jobs in Quebec are not blue collar guys or gals and there is zero evidence to indicate any of these guys or false were losing jobs or even would lose jobs and the head of Lavalin is on public record denying any jobs would be lost. The assumption jobs would be lost comes from the assumption that the federal government would ban Lavalin from getting federal government contracts for 10 years. That assumption comes from the fact that the World Bank has suspended funding any Lavalin projects outside Canada for 10 years for bribing foreign governments in Bangladesh and Cambodia. The fact they did that does not mean the federal government would. Next, in fact Lavalin gets very few federal contracts. The vast majority of their work, over 95% comes from elsewhere in Canada and even more importantly if there was a ban it could only apply to the Canadian subsidiary of Lavalin not its other subsidiaries operating in Canada. The assumption any job would be lost is fabricated. Its not based on reality. That is why even the head of Lavalin shot it down. The head office can not be moved out of Quebec until 2024 due to an agreement they signed with the Caisse Populaires of Quebec. Can you go read it. If they tried to move out before then they would have a huge penalty clause to pay back to the Caisse. Can you please read the Canadian dpa law and in particular the preconditions, considerations and prohibition that has to be considered by the prosecutor. While I am at it, only 4 dpa's have been used in Britain and never in situations for bribing foreign governments. Likewise in the US . The US uses dpa's for many legal matters. Britain, the US and Australia also signed that treaty. Next when you throw out the US, Britain and Australia as using dpa's at least find out when they use them. They have never used them in the context Trudeau wanted the dpa used and there is a reason for that. 4.5 cents was according to the liberals to get us to think of reducing our carbon foot print...experts say that they would need an increase of over 200 % to have Canadians actually reduce usage...They tried the same thing with cigs, now selling close to 20 bucks a pack.....and while the number of Canadians buying them has been reduced , it took massive increases to accomplish that and still the industry is pumping out smokes, and Canadians are still buying with taxes rates unheard of well over close to 1500% over of the cost to make is taxes... And yet nobody is getting a stop smoking rebate....or some tax dollars given back to you....they say more than you paid into it....unless you live in the country, or places where public transport is unavailable, and you travel more than 25 KM one way to work....or as the lying liberals like to say 1 out of every 5 will not be getting back what they put in... So why have a tax in the first place.....it is not going to the" fight" of climate change, it does not go to any incentives to purchase a veh with a lower climate footprint nor more improved upgrades to your home, such as solar, or wind power....no incentives to manufactures to produce carbon reducing items....No instead we have a tax we pay which will increase the price on everything, then we are allowed to claim a few dollars on our income tax....here is my 20 dollars Justin, here is your rebate of 25 army guy....should have cut the middle man and sent me a check for 5 dollars and we could have all felt better doing our thing for climate change....how much does this whole bad idea cost to administer....

I agree, I do think they should do it and I don't know why it never happened, even after they received a settlement in 1985 from the Feds and the Company that bought out the pulp and Paper Company; why at that time it was never removed from the water. Trudeau did promised to act on it but never did and of course chose to belittle a protester and of course the Ontario Liberals promised to act on it, but never did.
