  1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4UWIGg0_RdI I am not an immigration lawyer or expert in the field, so I can not show you anything that sticks out that support these concerns. However your sources do not cover any new ground, what I mean is, that perhaps you can high light some of the areas in your source documents that Canada or for that matter most western countries are not already providing, such as basic human rights, or providing due diligence in care for cultural and race issues....I do not see anything that sticks out that would say "Hey we need to sign this because we treat immigrants like shit".... And I suppose now we have to call the Canadian Conservative party a right wing nationalist party, as Scheer has just come out with his party line, "no way" he also says it will have effects on our sovereignty, and while non binding , he states they have a way to become binding, as they progress ....I'm not sure what being a right wing nations party has to do with all of this, controlling immigration is not just a far right idea....it happens in the left wing parties as well...Besides the majority of Canadians want more controls on immigration, and as a nation we are far more left than anything else....If we want to talk about groups to be concerned about lets talk about the UN it self....another organization that most Canadians do not have any real trust in... What is in the pact that we do not already adhere to ?..... The compact is all about providing protections to immigrants, and what resources should be allotted , etc no where does it state what actions states have to eject immigrants that lie, cheat or falsify papers, who have criminal back grounds, or even took part in abusing human rights within their own countries.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=meZrLDaip6o http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4UWIGg0_RdI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SMFzd9uhXo

  2. It's not about what he spent it on - it's about the self-aggrandizing method that he used to announce it - even using his personal twitter account rather than an official government one. Just another example of a juvenile attitude that is not in keeping with the serious job of Prime Minister.

  5. This is the line of thinking I am in. No matter what you call them, it is rich elites around the world that want to control us. While giving us the guise of nation states to thing we are special and different. And it may not be too late, but the water is way hot now, and the frogs are starting to notice it.

  6. I have a problem with that attitude. Regardless of the worthiness of the cause, Trudeau used his personal twitter account to announce Canadian government spending on a US political talk show in a manner that made out like he and Trevor were saving the world. Trevor maybe but Trudeau was just using your money to try and increase his own popularity. The man's ego is becoming an expensive problem. It is borrowed money after all that Canadians will pay interest on in perpetuity because it will never be paid back, but that is another issue. Unfortunately, the only thing most politicians really excel at is dreaming up new ways to spend money. We have become a can we afford the payment country, when we used to be a can we live within our means country.

  7. Quebec's plan is prudent. Who does Justin Trudeau speak for anyway? I heard him on the TV news mimicking the corporate line, prattling on about labour shortages. Where, exactly, are these shortages and why is the government not simply targeting specific shortages? My guess is that big business wants the government to continue to permit it to utilize the immigration and foreign worker programs to practice wage suppression. The Trudeau government also appears intent on catering to other special interests including the too-powerful immigration industry and ethno-cultural lobbies. Increasing the number of sponsored seniors, or sponsored relatives in general, seems unlikely to help the economy. I have educated friends who live in the GTA who can't find ongoing work. Too bad they're over 50, I guess. Mr. Trudeau and his cronies apparently think they should be put out to pasture. The federal government should create a national job bank where employers are obligated to post all positions they say they can't fill before they can bring in workers from outside of Canada. And let's monitor the cases where Canadian applicants are rejected. A friend told me that he was informed by an agency that some companies simply interview Canadian candidates on a pro forma basis in order to satisfy the requirement that they demonstrate a lack of suitable and available domestic candidates, which if true seems to amount to gaming the system. The employment environment for job seekers has become so arcane and fractured since the federal government effectively abandoned the field that it's almost impossible for workers to identify available opportunities. Let's fix that and let's see if a transparent and objectively monitored marketplace proves whether actual shortages exist. In the meantime, kudos to Quebec. It's putting its own workers and people first. Were Canada as a whole to adopt this approach, immigration intake numbers would fall to 180 to 200 thousand a year, which seems far more realistic than one million over three years, which is Trudeau's target.

  8. The plan is sneaky and inevitable and also goes along with the Refugee Pact. Don’t they always start with “non-binding” but the Liberal gov’t will point to UN agreement to enact binding laws, just as they are doing now with a carbon tax that started with non binding climate plan to enacting a now BINDING carbon tax that Trudeau says will do nothing. .

  9. To start with I disclose my biases. 1-I sent both my daughters to French immersion. One is the head of public relations of a very large international company making much more money than me and living in New York. She went to graduate school in France and undergrad in that horrid nation called the US. The second is has a graduate degree and also went to the horrible US for university. I could not stop them. Both were French immersion. I come from Montreal so I was bilingual although its true what some say, if you do not use French all the time you can lose it. It comes back when I have a Labatt Blue but I concede that. I also concede growing up in Quebec I felt speaking French was a necessity not because I was forced to but it was the respectful thing to do in a province where the majority were French. To me it was not a political issue but a common courtesy one. Most French Quebecers insisted on speaking English to me out of courtesy. I was only late in life on a vacation at Iles Aux Coudres, the hotel owner refused to speak English to his American customers that I went ballistic calling him an inbred ass and I translated and left the hotel. Idiot. That said I support French immersion as I support any parent who teachs their child to speak more than one language. Why? There are no shortage of sights that explain the benefits of learning more than one language such as: https://www.unb.ca/fredericton/second-language/_resources/pdf/FrenchImmersionresearchmythorrealityJan2015EECD.pdf I am not arguing it does not have issues but as the above article and many others that have researched education have shown: an ability to speak a second language enhances cognitive functioning, especially “executive control” – the decision-making centre of the brain 1 more students are schooled in their second language in the world than in their first language allophones (students who speak a language other than English or French) can be and are successful second language learners in various types of programs including French immersion, and often surpass native English-speaking students in Canada the vast majority of students in French immersion are from unilingual English families the program was designed for these parents. many anglophone parents have had success advocating for and supporting their students in French immersion. Promoting literacy in the first language (e.g., reading to your child) is an important way of supporting French language learning I would argue bilingualism is not a racket but a recognition of the two legal languages of Canada. Our laws were and are based on British and French legal and cultural systems as well as those of the nations of the aboriginals. We recognize all native languages as languages of Canada as they were the first languages of Canada and they are protected in the Charter. No one asks you speak those languages but legally they are nations of Canada. No one forces you to speak French or English either. You can choose to remain unilingual, illiterate, whatever. Its your choice. The law forces nothing on you but it has to remain neutral to the two legal languages of English and French and accommodate the aboriginal languages in court and government services as the government of Canada serves all three. I find Quebec's decision to not service English speakers in English outside the federal court system unfortunate but the reality is Canada allows this discrimination so the English provinces argue quid pro quo except Ontario, Manitoba and New Brunswick who are provincially bilingual. It was a well known Tory provincial Premier of Ontario who ushered in bilingualism for the province in 1967 during confederation and that Premier spoke little English and learned it in later life. Many Anglophone politicians have learned French in later life based on courtesy not because they had to. I don't find being courteous a racket myself. Merci. Les Glorieux sont la. Drouin, Price et Gallagher, Franco-Quebecois + aboriginal + Newfoundlander = Les Habs.

  10. Give it a break comrade. He might steal your twinky or swiss roll if you leave it out but not the above. Wages are determined by global forces and supply and demand not the fat guy. Do they teach you any economics to go along with that Marxism?

  12. Geeze, dude: one flaw doesn't create a banana republic. Your PM is practically a dictator compared to a U.S. president. Yes, I said it. That's the flaw in the Canadian parliamentary constitution. But it's one you have to live with in order for parliamentary democracy to function. You see? You must take the good with the bad. That doesn't make a banana republic, it just means the constitution was written by human beings. Those who live in glass houses, etc.

  13. The new terms don't start until January....do you think we elect governors & legislatures and pay them to do nothing for two months ? Example: several natural disasters recently have required action at the state level...but you want them to sit tight and do nothing ? Brilliant !

  14. Americans would find that a constitutional flaw. But it's one you have to live with in a parliamentary democracy, just as a lame duck Congress/legislature is a flaw you have to live with in a presidential one.

  16. Just part of Trudeau's reckless spending with no apparent concern for Canadians. Also notice, how Trudeau tweets this as if somehow the 50M is his to give personally, not the taxpayer's money---- and this to impress a second rate 'comedian' Not just second rate but anti Semitic Ontario is still waiting for the 200 M owed them because of his broken border policies... maybe he'll pledge to pay that over twitter.

  17. I suppose anyone who disagrees will believe that opposing views are 'sh.t' and of course 'far right'. Too many countries/leaders agree that although it's a non binding document, it is not to be trusted - and rightly so as it is the U.N. after all. If nothing else and at the very least this Compact aims to normalize mass migration paving the way for millions of people to move to Canada and other 'rich' countries via enforced socialism from the corrupt U.N., but more and more governments are seeing through it and don’t want it.

  18. So what you are saying is that all of scribblet sources are full of shit...or more to the point of false news......including those speakers from the ENF Press conference with Marcel de Graaff, Nicolas Bay, ENF Group Leaders, and Gerolf Annemanse. these guys are just tin foil hatters, who are spreading the word of some demi god meant to discredit the UN and this compact.... It seems that there is more than a couple of members of the ENF that also agree, that this compact is not to be trusted....Now here we have for the lack of words professional politicians would I only assume that can at least read and understand all of the wording in the compact....and they have made it their mission to kill support for this UN compact, WHY ? I mean if it is as straight forward as you want us to believe WHY do these European politicians have a problem with it? I mean I can understand us rednecks here in Canada not having the intelligence to understand all the double speak language used in most UN compacts or policies....But these euro guys they seem to understand completely....again my question is why ? Just a couple of other questions ….If every world citizens is covered under the basic human rights pact , why would we need an entire compact on immigration rights....why would we need another compact on hate crimes, racism sounds redundant.....and yet here we are with the UN finding the need to include a special human right on all immigrants. They also include the words non binding....and yet we are about to place it under a basic human right compact …..the same human rights a lot of our laws are based on...to change them would make it binding would it not ?

  19. The Trudeau government in the lead-up to next year's election is reportedly embarking on a propaganda campaign, presumably funded by taxpayers, to promote its immigration policies. And, even more disturbingly, it's reportedly backing a UN effort to declare immigration a human right (wow!), thus undermining national borders. I think we should all be concerned about these efforts by a government that's increasingly radical. https://www.thestar.com/news/canada/2018/11/30/federal-government-launches-campaign-to-boost-support-for-immigration.html https://torontosun.com/opinion/columnists/malcolm-the-un-migration-compact-spells-radical-change-for-canada

  20. The liberal leftist Toronto Star is about the worse piece of rag that anyone with half a brain would want to bother to read what that piece of crap news outlet has to say. At least the Toronto Sun and Brian Lilley has more class and integrity than the commie Toronto Star has. Wynne has pretty much destroyed Ontario for good. It will be hard for a guy like conservative Doug Ford to try and repair the damage that biotch has done to Ontario and it's economy. Give a liberal the reins of power and it is good bye to ones tax dollars and the economy. Liberals believe that a socialist/communist multicultural /diversity and sex gender economy programs and agendas is the way to go. The more government the better they say. I say puke to that.

  21. I can tell you this for sure that The Rebel and Ezra Levant will not be taking any bribes from this corrupt prime mistake of Canada. Ezra will not be taking any bribes from this pro Pravda liberal government. This is why alternative media is so important to have. This is where Scheer should be banging his fists on the table and shouting out loud about this act of communism and the theft of taxpayer's tax dollars. With the media dying in this country the media will do anything to survive. They will take this offer of bribery money and run with it and will be doing what they have been already doing for decades and will be doing even more now? They will be attacking conservatism because they are being paid to do so now. The cries of racism, and anti gay, and anti Muslim will be leveled against anyone especially conservatives who would dare to question or challenge the taboo and sacred cow called political correctness. The leftist liberal media in this country appear to have now become nothing more than a bunch of communist traitors and a bunch of lap dogs too we the people of Canada and all for a few pieces of silver. They can never be trusted anymore. They will now be lying and spreading the bull chit every day against we the conservative people of Canada. All those tax dollars could have been better spent on Canada and for Canadians that really need help rather than given to a bunch of useless gang of nothings in the leftist liberal media. Sadly, in this country, there is no conservative newspapers in Canada anymore. They have been all but wiped out by our non freedom loving leftist liberal and conservative party's who have always stuck together to give the shaft to we the people. Hey, what's 600 million here and six hundred million there. Who cares, eh. To the liberals, it's only money, eh?
