  1. It's not because a large portion of Canadians hate Americans, because really they don't, now this is just my opinion, what pisses off Canadians is Americans have a rich identity, the red white and blue, your patriotic to a fault, you don't really care who you piss off, because your proud of who you are, where you came from, all of your history, can I get a WHOOORAAHH please ...Canadians don't have any of that, Oh we want to have it, but we just can't get there.... Shit we would be hard pressed to tell any one what our values and morals are, what we believe in, what excites us...except Hockey and poggy checks....and the odd beer... I mean all you have to do is look at our national choices for things that represent Canada....The Beaver WTF were they thinking , you can't tell me there was not another animal out there that was not taken.... what about the Artic fox, or better yet the Polar bear....no we picked a rodent that sole job is to chew trees down and build dams impressive...Our national sport is lacrosse….how many times a week is that national televised, Can more than 2 people tell me what the national league for lacrosse is called.... how many players do we have national any ways....would it even be comparable to Hockey....and yet the vast majority of us Canadians eat sleep and shit hockey...but did we pick hockey....nope.... deep down I think we wish we where Americans, just to have something we could call our own....to look up to, to have a sense of values and morals to get excited about singing a national anthem ....don't get me wrong, i'm proud to be Canadian, and I do say sorry a lot, and I am polite yes maam, yes sir, I prefer Canadian beer, to American....I will stop everything i'm doing to watch a good hockey game, or play in one, it's like we turn into little green hulks when we gear up and play hockey, we could gouge your eyes out with a blade of a stick in no time...ya we'd say sorry, even try to stuff that eye back in...see out on the ice we are assholes, off the ice we don't know who we are, except we will say we are not Americans, even know we are more similar to Americans than to any other culture....

  2. I’m not the former mr. Canada but I’m not upset to be drawing comparisons to people you don’t see eye to eye with. Not surprisingly, you guys are “unaware” of the things that you’re oblivious to. That’s the nature of the beast. Trying to understand things from a broader perspective, or to at least consider facts and opinions that don’t instantly mesh with your narrative are important and you’re both steadfastly against rational dialogue. Whenever you guys find yourselves making straw man arguments or baseless accusations, etc you should take a moment to let some cognitive dissonance set in.

  3. I think many Canadians think Canada is the greatest country on Earth. I know I do. We don’t say it or run around shouting, “Canada Canada Canada” because politeness and modesty are Canadian values. It’s fine to be proud of your country to a point, but you should really only be proud of what you contribute, not what has been given to you or what you’ve been born into. Grateful, yes. People matter more than countries anyway. We’re blessed to live here. It’s what you do with what you’ve been given that counts.

  4. If you’re not up to speed with the national discourse re: this attack then why don’t you get up to speed yourself? I’m not here to lead you by the hand. The connection between that article and the attack is obvious if you understand how humans are manipulated to commit dirty deeds. If you don’t, then I won’t enlighten you because you don’t strike me as the kind of person who should have that kind of knowledge.

  5. The case of Asia Bibi is shocking, but sadly all too common in the country of Pakistan. I've been following it for some time now and it's actually unfolding in pretty familiar terms. Her familly has appealed for asylum in Canada, among other western countries, but we don't hear anything about them Yet our government is quick with the old Twitter when it comes to an activist in SA. If the Trudeau government is as humanitarian as they claim, truly cares about the persecuted, then they shouldn't hesitate to get her and her familly out of there. Or is she below their notice, since she's a Christian? As a side note, Pakistan is a true cess pool. We consider them to be allies but the truth is that they're anything but that. The Liberals should act on this without hesitation. To do anything else would just be wrong. The joy over the acquittal of Asia Bibi lasted barely 24 hours. The Christian mother of five from Pakistan was forced to spend eight years in prison, much of the time on death row, ostensibly for "blasphemy," before the Supreme Court cleared her of any offense. "I can't believe what I am hearing, will I go out now? Will they let me out, really?", Asia Bibi said by phone after the historic sentence, according to AFP news agency. Unfortunately, massive street protests by extremist Muslims immediately erupted to pressure the government to delay her release. The phone network in some areas was suspended for reasons of "security". Rioting caused schools in Islamabad, Punjab and Kashmir to close. Roads were blocked, paralyzing parts of Islamabad, Lahore and other cities. Christian schools warned parents to come and get their children for fear of violence. Churches were put on high alert. Protesters hold placards that read: "Hang Asia Bibi". https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/13250/asia-bibi-pakistan-betrayal

  6. Shocked to find out you’re not a CNN junkie, their rhetoric is right up your alley. There’s no political climate that’s been heating up for decades. Everything happening now is all part of a much larger cycle that you’re oblivious to. What right do you have to be offended when people misconstrue anything you say or believe? Your last reply to me was nothing but a straw man argument. If you want the respect of a decent conversation the first thing you have to do is honestly read and understand what people write, and reply properly or stay silent.

  7. You made a straw man argument, congrats! It’s a big step up from your usual barrage of baseless accusations and personal attacks.

  8. Pretty much nailed it. Personally I'm for more beer, less poggy checks!

  9. I just wish the media would expose the fallacy of our sentencing. Sentences in Canada are already notoriously light - but it's actually much, much worse. If someone is sentenced to 12 years in prison - Statutory Release means they have to be released after serving two-thirds of their sentence (8 years) unless there are very compelling reasons to the contrary. The default is they get out. Full parole, if granted is given after one third. Don't get me going on early Day Parole. So - a sentence of 12 years is actually 4 to 8 years. Like in the US, the sentence should be publicized as "they are serving 4 to 8 years. A sentence of 6 years is actually 2 to 4 years. For gang members and hardened criminals, these wrist-slaps are just the "cost of doing business". The public are being grossly misled. Not Fake News - it's Censored News.

  11. Still won't answer the question, will you? I guess the reason for that is Trump has not done anything harmful too you. You just despise Trump because the media told you to despise Trump. If the media told you that Trump was a great President every day you would be there in agreement with them. Clear enough for you? Hey, the fools that voted for Trudeau sure voted in an idiot for PM who is now making many Canadians feel miserable as human beings.

  12. Certainly true for this Liberal party hack (and idiot) from Vancouver....like many...completely obsessed with Trump in another country. Bush #43 drove them nuts too. https://torontosun.com/opinion/columnists/lilley-federal-liberal-official-has-social-media-meltdown-over-trump

  15. There are lots of South American countries which are quite stable. Most of Mexico is stable. Other, much closer countries like Costa Rica, Panama and Belize are stable and free too.

  16. If they were genuine refugees, they would be asking Mexico for asylum, not safe passage. If yo want to make your country a better place, you don't leave it, you fight to change what is causing your problem.

  17. It would not matter, even if you had 99 % approval there is still going to be someone pissing and moaning that some how the government we elected screwed them over.....And if we did have a referendum, on Afghanistan nothing would have changed, the majority of Canadians approved....end of story....and still they won't take responsibility , got to point the finger at someone....

  18. If they were simply fleeing Honduras there are lots of peaceful places in central and south America they could get to more easily and which speak their language. They want to go to the US because it's rich.

  20. Not sure if I'm getting your drift.....but I'll try: Dog's position is that violence is inherent in Islam - through its holy book and through its history and through the way the majority of the world's Muslims behave. In no way has he ever said that ALL Muslims are violent. His stand is that there is more violence in Islam than normal because of the verses explicit in the book, the history of the religion and its effects on its adherents in general. Dia diagrees - to her, the book is just being wrongly interpreted and only by a tiny, almost miniscule, "You're an Islamophobe if you have any concern about Islamic terrorism" portion of Muslims. To her the religion is a beautiful record of peace and love and anyone who doesn't believe that is morally bankrupt, in her opinion. So in order to disagree with Dog, she must re-word everything he says by following him around the board and making sure that everyone sees HER interpretation of what he's posted, in the hopes that others will eventually only see HER interpretation and not what he's actually said. Mudballs. If you throw enough of them, eventually something sticks. She will be so happy that you have accepted her interpretation of what Dog posts, picked up that mudball she created and thrown it at the target she has chosen for you.

  21. You're not very clever: the claim is these people are fleeing Honduras...a peaceful nation ultimately...poverty and crime aside. Prove these people are "fleeing Honduras" rather than going to the USA for free hand-outs from the generous welfare system. Pithy idiotic responses from yourself don't count as proof.

  22. Sounds more like you left wingers should get educated about what's going on, before crowing about how great something else is. Canada's better, ok? So you Canada haters can all go and fook off.

  23. No doubt Trudeau is having invitations printed up, maybe he'll even be at the border handing out vouchers for a year of free living and maybe a bag of this stuff to help smooth things over.
