  1. Armed thugs enter property to steal and start an altercation... one gets shot. What a shocker!! The kid didn’t deserve to die, and the farmer didn’t deserve to be charged with murder. Sucks all around I’d say.... but the whole racism angle is silly rhetoric. And the PM tweeting about it is in the same league as Trump. It makes it seem he thinks the farmer should be in jail for life and the jury was wrong in their verdict. The PM shouldn’t have gotten involved. ETA: the title of this thread is moronic. And conservatives who condemn Trudeau for his tweet but not Trump are hypocrites. As far as the tweet from Trudeau goes, it was fairly innocuous but still innapropriate.

  2. Because nothing in the memo exposed secretive procedure or intelligence methods or needed redacting. I don't think any of the DOJ issues with the memo were in regards to possible redactions or accuracy of events, they just didn't want the names released. Now, back to my question; why are redactions made to a document?

  3. The judge said only three verdicts were possible: second degree murder, manslaughter or not guilty. Perhaps your reasoning got him off the second degree murder charge but then why not manslaughter?? Clearly having them tresspass and attempt to steal while in a drunken state (while they too were armed) was enough reason to say he acted reasonably. Hence the not guilty verdict

  4. A news conference was just held now on the news of Indigenous people declaring war on us all for the "not guilty" verdict of Gerald Stanley. See http://thestarphoenix.com/news/local-news/gerald-stanley-trial-jury-delivers-not-guilty-verdict-in-murder-of-colten-boushie and present news coverage tonight (10:45 Global news and likely on CBC network now). I've always understood our government's stance of "Mutliculturalism" (TM) to represent collective forms of National Socialists and NOT diversity of all peoples. In the need for the establishment of this country's faltering power to preserve their own Nationalistic 'catholic' origins here, Pierre Trudeau set up a Constitution that locked in his favored religion and culture but had to include token means to the very Aboriginal tribes his (not my) relatives thought of the Natives when they abused them through various policies of their own ancestors. I believe the means of 'favoring' the Aboriginals the WAY we have in this country today goes along with the similar movements to grant women and girls retribution against the problems ...that again....his own kind of family and thinkers created. Yet to do so means to TRANSFER the burden to all people and especially to those very stereotypical thinking memes against SCAPEGOATS of the whole rather than take on the burden of debt that is due against the churches and wealthy establishment of the Eastern Canadian Catholic and Anglican 'loyalists' that served to go against the democratic changes of the Enlightenment when the U.S. was being formed. My anger here is to what this conference of "Nations" (Aboriginal Nationalists) are challenging of many across the nation now against the trial that "let a guilty man free" today. [I don't hold any opinion for Gerald Stanley's guilt nor innocence, only the FACT that he's been tried by a jury of his peers as we are all expected a right here to.] The rise of Nationalism by the Natives now is something that I fear is going to harm us all in kind to all the other segregate empowered groups being fostered by Mutliculturalism. [Remember, the Nazis in Germany is precisely a motion of "Indigenous" Germans demanding SEGREGATE social rights as 'distinct' special peoples!.] History is not only repeating itself,...it is getting amplified for the sake of the selfish arrogance and ignorance of those supporting SEGREGATE laws for SPECIFIC people as though they are above and beyond reproach. I was born on this EARTH and so am equally "Aboriginal" here. I also have NOT gained any of the wealth nor benefits of anyone here, including no favor to high paying jobs that I get stereotyped as having gained from. I am a "FLOATER" when it comes to the fact that I don't own shit nor any privileged "culture" that I supposedly OWN from some ancestors of mine. This is MY land as much as any others here. And I'm getting tired of this EMPOWERMENT to National Socialism in the name of "liberalism" of a left that is actually the collective right-wingers AVENGING W.A.S.P.s that I also DO NOT SUPPORT!! Thank you Trudeau and all you who support SEGREGATIONIST, racist and sexist laws here. Thank you for the inevitable wars that YOU are actually fostering of the very people you claim to be pitying. P.S. "Person Kind" comes from the meaning "per son" (for each SON); So if you were intending to evade any sexist overtones of the word "Mankind" you think it has, Justine, think again. [This is a dig to his comment the other day correcting some girl who used this.]

  9. The "peoplekind" remark could be good cannon fodder in the next election. Trudeau criticizing our justice system because he didn't like the outcome of the Bouchie - Stanley trial in Saskatchewan was bizarre to say the least. It wasn't good for "reconciliation", although I wouldn't recommend that be used in the election. A court ruling should not be used for political purposes, but maybe his commenting on it could. But it's risky because the whole issue surrounding it could be political suicide for any party that gets into it.

  10. Agreed....and in the end...it was just another American election, with such large mass and inertia that any attempted influence by Russian, Canadian, or any other foreign interlopers has minimal consequence. Any foreign impact storyline just gets absorbed into the political Borg to be used as ammunition against the other side. America has already started on the next election cycle...it is business and spectacle that only gets bigger. Coke...or Pepsi ! Yes...this is the key point...foreigners have always wanted a piece of the U.S. political process, and the U.S. most certainly takes a bite out of elections in other nations. But the power of the State used to nefarious advantage in domestic elections is not politically acceptable.

  11. I guess you don't comprehend what direct means. Linking up a billion different possible scenarios and saying what happened was direct displays a complete ignorance of reality. The jury, based on the evidence presented and instruction given, found that Stanley was not culpable in the death of Boushie. Everything else is politics - from everyone on all sides.

  15. The US can bitch about it when they stop meddling in foreign elections themselves. The US tampers their own elections more than the Russians could ever do.

  17. The death of Colten Boushie was the direct result of Colten Boushie and four other aboriginal criminals on a drunken crime spree coming onto the private property of a farmer and conducting criminal activity including use of deadly weapons (both vehicle and rifle) that could reasonably be construed as a threat to the life and property of the farmer and his family. Now explain to me why the other four in that SUV were not charged with culpable homicide? (see (a) and (c) above) Let me answer that for you...THEY WERE ABORIGINALS WHO CAN DO NO WRONG. (atl least that is precisely what the CBC and Liberal government are clearly saying). I happen to have a rural farm in SK, and the occurence of aboriginal (and non-aboriginal) thieves observing property for the sole purpose of identifying when the property owners are not home to break into homes and shops to steal everything and anything they feel they could sell, drink or smoke. That alone is a constant concern. When you escalate that to intoxicated, armed thieves you can imagine what your options might be - you going to call the RCMP who are at least a half hour away? Yeah, right.

  19. Is being against Trudeau's stances here automatically make one a supporter of Harper? I find Trudeau actually the 'best' alternative we have simply because there is NO actual intellectual integrity ON the left that I support! Try arguing with the content here, not one's association.

  20. First I have zero compassion for an intoxicated, trespassing thief who clearly was in the wrong and was found that way by a jury. Having your PM imply there is something wrong with that said system minutes after the verdict without basis is flat out wrong. By the way...Harper can’t hurt you any more. You can try to sleep at night

  24. That's your opinion. The prisoners are classified as enemy combatants, captured as a result of a war. They are not considered as civilian or domestic criminals. The U.S. is doing what it has to do in this period of history to defend itself from international terrorism.

  25. Like a vending machine? I'm not paying $4 for a coffee made from a vending machine. McDonalds actually has their specialty drinks made from a machine. Coffee snobs don't really buy into that. Also someone's still gotta serve it to you. I was actually on a road-trip in the US and stopped at one of these rest-stops. Not like an OnRoute in Ontario. It's bathrooms and vending machines. I bought coffee from a vending machine, worst thing I've ever tasted.
