  1. Yet here you are - doing just that. Yes. No one goes through all the things associated with leaving a cherished belief system until they're ready and able to withstand everything that goes with it. Do you think telling women that it is normal and acceptable in Canada to be covered all the time helps them leave behind religious and domestic abuse or hinders? Do you think Trudeau going to a radical mosque and making women MPs use the side entrance, cover up and sit away from the men helps or hinders? I'm awfully surprised that you feel "going along with" and accepting archaic religious beliefs as normal is a great thing for Canada. I'm not "for" banning the burka but I am for not making out like it's a great thing or even normal and acceptable for the human race. You can continue to support it if you like. I do not.

"You can almost immediately see the moment that Mr. Harper started talking about the face veil, we immediately started getting reports of women being harassed in Canada," she said during a news conference on Parliament Hill. "We can't make a direct link per se but ... certainly it was a factor." This is the crap the liberal media are pushing on the public. Link

  6. On average, about 300 people are shot in the U.S. every day for a variety of reasons, and no reason at all. About 80 will die, including the suicides. Doesn't really matter if they are Democrats or Republicans...liberals or Muslims. Most don't make the national news...even in Canada. Politically motivated shootings of elected members of government and candidates for office is as old as the country itself. So just as before...play ball...I'm glad the charity baseball game will go on as scheduled.

  7. I have to agree with this and the way it's stated. In my opinion sexist and misogynist attitudes need to be discouraged. Even challenged although sometimes challenging people on their deeply held religious beliefs can be counter-productive. l believe that leading by example and through education we can help the women and girls escape this lifestyle more effectively than shunning them and refusing them entry into our country.

  8. I now have time to respond to this. Hahahahahahahahahah. That was hilarious. Wow. O.k. let me break it you, Sit. Mainstream Jews and Christians do not dress as in the above. Mainstream Muslim women do. Further, the fact that Orthodox Jews or Hutterites or Amish do, does not make Muslim fundamentalist views on how women should dress magically appropriate. This defective argument that you and others make that fundamentalist by Muslims is o.k. because Jews and Christians do it to completely misses the point again and again. Archaic practices don't become acceptable because other religions engage in them as well. They are all equally as questionable I argue. Your attempt to suggest I made a double standard argument as to whose religion's fundamentalism I question and only question it in Islam, is false. I never have. What I have debated clearly is ALL fundamentalist religious approaches to sex and women not just Muslim ones need to be challenged.. Never have I supported the fundamentalst sexual views of any of the religions you listed. By the way Mennonites today are mainstream. You meant Amish or certain Quaker who are sub sects of the Mennonites. Some Mennonites are very strong feminists but clearly you don't get that. I also appreciate under the Canadian Charter of Rights people have the right now to engage in all kinds of practices and claim its their religious right to do so. However I find that crap and phony. You are well aware a Satanist could not show up for an affirmation of oath for citizenship dripping in goat's blood. You know damn well a topless woman can not swear an oath for citizenship. The selectivity of which practices trendy Liberals find the acceptable belief of the day change. I find them phony because of their subjective trendy nature. If you think we will make our society enlightened you are ridiculous. When you tolerate EVERYTHING it means you tolerate some very intolerant practices. No I do not consider it acceptable to circumcise female genitilia as many Muslims do. I draw a line. I don't pretend certain practices are harmless and moderate. I think it ridiculous Orthodox Jewish women must sit segregated from men, and wear wigs in public. no I do not wear a Black Bear Hat or grow a beard or sidelocks. I consider such practices moronic. Slavish devotion to rituasl for me is moronic. I state my opinion as you do yours. Please don't pose as more tolerant that I because you think a woman forced to cover her face and look through a crack is reasonable and hey man, its cool we all get to do what we want. I draw a line just as you do not. Zip over your head. You also clearly don't get it. Some of the fiercest fighters for women's rights are Jewish women and Muslim women trying to challenge the very things you endorse as moderate precisely because they are not moderate, they are fascist crap.. More to the point if you think Golda Maeir covered herself up for Jewish men I laugh again. If I came hear and preached on standard for Muslim fundamentalists and another for Jewish or Christian ones you'd be totally right to call me out on that. I have not. My argument with say Peter F is actually one on how tolerant we have to be of certain views. Peter F is a classic liberal. I respect that. He is consistent in applying the same standard for all. I get that. I respect that. I just think its crap to tolerate fundamentalist beliefs that depict women as sexually provocative and in need of covering. That to me is crap. It comes down to where one stands on certain issues. I don't think a democracy without some limits can survive. If it doesn't define limits, then intolerant views take over. This anything goes attitude to me is naïve. I am not asking Muslims be arrested. I am not saying Muslims can't pray. I am not saying they can't walk around like potato sacks. I am saying I think its part of prehistoric practices I don't want becoming mainstream. No I don't think its moderate behaviour. I think its obsessive compulsive and sexually repressive behaviour. I

  9. Obama was setting up a system of communist dictatorship for America just like Stalin and Mao did. Like Mao once said on a mission that he was about to take "the journey begins with the first step". The SC appointee was that first step. Obama signed many executive orders all the time, and many were implemented just like Trump is doing today which are being implemented today also. It takes time to kill the liberal/democratic octopus. There are plenty of limbs that need to be cut off. Chop-chop. No impeachment today. Maybe next week, you hope?

  11. About a generation. Most Muslims in Canada are foreign born. The fear is that as their numbers rise the same thing will happen here as has happened in EVERY COUNTRY ON EARTH where Muslims are a significant minority; demands for special treatment and violence if those demands are not met.

  14. I think hijabs were around long before 9/11. They are having a surge in popularity in the West because Muslims want to express their political and religious leanings. Why they choose a symbol that supports oppression and violence against women at this time in history and make it the ultimate symbol of Islam is beyond my understanding.

  17. I don't like this either. I didn't like it when I saw a few women like this in Egypt and I don't like seeing it in Canada. But as far as I'm concerned there is nothing in this world that gives me the moral right to decide I must save these women against their will or offer blanket insults to them, their husbands and fathers or their religion. I can offer them something different through example and education but they have to make a choice to accept it. Banning them from my country because they make me uncomfortable will not help them or their daughter. Forcing them to wear what I find acceptable will not help them. Prosecuting them for domestic abuse sends a message that wife beating, honor killings and FGM are unacceptable in this country helps them understand our standards and sends a message to potential victims that they aren't abandonned. Refusing to let them entry because they're dressed a certain way and assuming their thoughts doesn't help those women or their daughters. If our culture isn't strong enough to offer opportunity for freedom from oppression to these women without losing our way, that's pretty pathetic.

  19. Since you brought up, yes I used to be a JW. And yes, I left the religion. So I understand what is involved with going against one's religion and culture. You and Dialamah think it's soooooo easy! You think once these women get to Canada, they'll buck the system and just quit wearing their burkas and niqabs. No, darling. It's not that easy. I know what it's like to buck the system and have to leave in the night with only a few dollars in an envelope and what you can carry in your car. To leave without your child in order to make a better life for them. To leave without a friend or family member for support. I know how hard it is to try and make new friends after being told that worldly people don't love others or look after others and you distrust the whole world. I know what it's like to have no family, as in - none. It's not as easy peasy lemon squeezy as you portray. More like difficult difficult lemon difficult. And let me tell you, some of my hardest most stressful times came when well-meaning people like you, who had absolutely no friggin clue about all the psychological mind manipulations that went on in the religion, made comments about how "normal" the JWs are and how wonderful the religion is "So devout and morally superior in this day and age!" I don't think making out like women having to cover themselves in reams of cloth to hide their dirty filthy whore bodies is a normal, acceptable cultural trait, helps women at all. Are there Muslim women who burka-up freely out of choice? Of course there are. But to assume they all have "chosen" this, is dead wrong and is Islamic propaganda just the same as the JW propaganda that kept me enslaved. You do a great disservice to the millions of women around the world who are beaten and killed over the burka issue when you pretend this is a normal and acceptable thing to do to women. How disappointed the woman must be who longs for the freedom of Canada to shed the bulky fabrics and feel the sun on her face and the wind in her hair, the woman who has the courage and strength to buck a religion, a culture, lose all their family and friends....only to be met by people like you, telling her it's normal and acceptable for her to be covered at all times. This is religious and domestic abuse right in your face. And you support it by poo-pooing it as nothing.

  20. Good now you want to describe covering oneself head to toe, dressing moderately. How moderate of you. Man does your liberalism ever stop? Is that what it does, make you engage in some fantasy that SEXUAL FASCISM is moderate and enlightened hip in the know people like you embrace it? You aint hip doing that.. You aint tolerant, you apologize and condone sexual fascism and the symbols it uses to remind women who controls them.. You want to call it moderate knock yourself out. Its not moderate. Its extreme. Its a symbol of control by men over a woman's body. People who cover themselves head to toe because they have been taught their bodies are sexually provocative are not expressing moderate view s they are reflecting the views of Muslim fundamentalist men in their society demanding they wear such things.. Tell me would you consider swearing an oath, topless, moderate? Would you consider someone wearing a Nazi uniform moderate? Your take on what is moderate could be construed that way by me using your liberal criteria. Its not the society I want my daughters and grand-daughters living in and quite frankly I find your blindness to what it is more scary then any Muslim brought up in a society where they never learned to question and be critical of authority-in your case you were given the qift to be free and challenge archaic concepts and you choose to roll over and turtle in the face of fascism and condone it and re-name it moderate? You think appeasement of fascism works? Chamberlain tried that. It failed. I am not in the mood to mince words. If someone wants to bag women I will side with women who tell them to shove the bag up their keester. That's what I taught my daughters, that is what I will teach my grand-daughters and when I run across people justifying andmolly coddling and trying to suger coat archaic ignorant backward sexual practices I will fight it. I will. I don't think a woman's body needs to be covered up head to toe-. I don't find that moderate. I find it fascist.and no I don't agree with having more than 1 wife or segregating women in houses of worship either. I don't find that moderate either.. I consider the definition of women and how they are demanded to behave in Muslim societies crap-sexual fascism. I support MODERATE Muslim women- those MODERATES are fighting hard to get rid of such practices. Please don't misappropriate their cause and suggeste extremist Muslim beliefs that are used to oppress moderate Muslim women are moderate. You've misappropriated the word.

  25. In a nutshell, likely yes. You don't seem to have the slightest concern about the US/UK, incredible extremists, taking over numerous countries. Do you consider it extremist for a government to overthrow a sovereign government, set up a right wing dictatorship, provide death lists to death squads, who then slaughter half a million innocents? Then do it all over again in another geographically close sovereign nation.

  29. You did exactly as predicted: denied anything "good" about Islam. It wouldn't matter if I quoted verse after verse from the Quran or posted multiple hadiths or gave a million examples of Muslims who actually practice those 'good things' that are taught in Islam. You would deny them simply based on the fact that you can find examples of Muslims who don't practice those things, or you can find verses and hadiths who contradict those things; you'll claim that Muslims who choose 'good' over 'bad' are not genuine Muslims. I hold the position that people *choose* what they believe and that a Muslim is equally able to choose "good" from Islam as "bad". You hold the position that only valid choice from Islam is 'bad'. It's only an unreasonable person who will only allow one perspective when many are clearly available. My 'support' of Islam or the behavior of Muslims is not completen or blind. Your condemnation of Islam is both complete and blind. That's why I'm the winner and you are the Islamaphobe.

  33. Some see the USA as "the world police". Some see the USA as a war mongering nation whose foreign policy is heavily influenced by special interest groups such as the military industrial complex, fossil fuel industry and foreign nations, such as Israel and Saudi Arabia. These special interest groups rely on these repetitive wars to create friction which keeps the industries replenished.

  34. There's a price to pay for being the world police, which USA has done up till now. They have born the brunt of it, making the world safe for us. Over the years they've paid the price, in both blood and treasure. Just like with the police, you have a group of guys doing a tough job in a hostile environment, surrounded by violent types on all sides. Their job is not easy, and there will always be those who criticize them, call them evil, because they didn't get a big enough slice of the pie for themselves.
