Islam is not interested in interfaith co-existence. Unless, of course, Islam is in the Dar-al-Harb (like Canada)...then it's all smiles and fraternity with the kufar until the numbers of Muslims increases. Then the push for Sharia starts... Islam means submission. Everybody submits...not just Muslims.3 points

Bang on TSS-the issue is a suprising ignorance as to sexual behaviour in North America. You will find in North America TSS the attitude about sexuality, and for that matter teaching about sexuality and sexual behaviour is quite different than in Scandinavia, Finland, Western Europe and we have a long way to go. We still are quite stupid and puroe when it comes to dealing with sexuality. eaching adolescents and adults about sexual procreation and behaviour is an up-hill battle. Many parents want to pull their children from sex education classes and anything to do with sexual education. Then we have prevalent attitudes of adolescents very much influenced by a culture that teaches them sex is a casual exercise and young girls should put out. Its also hard not to miss the racist image the American black man so tied up in being defined by how sexually aggressive he is with women who are portrayed as butt vibrating penis parking lots. Its deeply rooted in this North American sub-conscious that still defines black men as slaves whose worth was based on how many babies they could procreate, thus the number of women they had sex with. Its a hard racist image to break. In North America all relationships, let alone intimate ones have been likened and defined the way we do material values, as disposable, i.e., instant feel good exercises that are thrown away with no thought when the feel good they offer is used up.. We go through relationships like we do material commodities, we treat them as disposable quick fixes and then out they go as trash.. Spiritually developed societies tend to deal with sexuality in a more stable and sedate manner as anthropology shows. However societies where religions teach sex is dirty and needs to be repressed and in our case in the West also mixes it with being one and the same as disposable material values sends out the prevalent attitude that leads to unwanted pregnancy. Pregnancy like sexually transmitted diseases is a direct result of ignorance, of people living in the feel good, self indulging moment. If you work with teenagers and have seen how and what goes on in Family Court here , the level of sexual ignorance would shock you. The peer group pressure to have sex. and for young women now as young as 9 to have sex is there. Sky rocketing rates of syphilis and gonorrhea in the throat have arisen now in not just high school but elementary school because children are being told oral sex doesn't create pregnancies. Teaching young girls their value is not defined by who they allow to have sex with them is not something believe it or not parents spend much time with. Neither for that matter do parents even if they are at home talk to their children because most like their children are on the cell phone avoiding conversation Sexual ignorance is tied deeply to sexual violence and sexually transmitted diseases and unwanted children, yes but its also tied to lack of parental role models talking honestly, candoidly and non judgementally about sexuality. It is still prevalent that men assume women should take the pill and its the woman's individual responsibility not to get pregnant and once pregnant to be subordinate to what others say she should do with her body. For me when I hear people call all abortions murder or refer to embryos as unborn babies, I don't spend too much time on what they say. The fact they call an embryo or a fetus a baby shows they lack a basic level of awareness as to the stages of development in the womb. Now I say this to you, if my daughters are raped and impregnated how dare anyone presume to tell them they must come to term. Women make decisions each day. Some have been raped by their fathers, brothers, other relatives, etc. Some have serious illnesses that may mean they risk giving birth to a child with severe defects or for that matter threaten their own lives. Those are not easy issues to deal with and judgemental by-standards with archaic and puritanical rigid morality systems annoy the snot out of me. We have technology today that can reveal when an embryo is dead or when its being born without vital organs or such severe deformities it should be terminated very early before it develops. If the very God these religious fanatics quote did not want us to have such knowledge he would not have given us free thought and the ability to have our medical technology that offers us alternative approaches. Yah tell that to these religious geniues. Bottom line, If people want to come on this form and refer to cells smaller than the eye of a pin as unborn babies and presume to judge in the name of God and tell people how to behave, I can' stop them but I sure as hell ignore them. All I say is the free choice I believe should be be made in private with the doctor, the woman and/or her loved ones, not anyone on this forum or me who presumes to speak for God or life. Proper counselling explains all the alternatives including coming to full term and adoption yes. Me personally I would of course hate to see someone give up a chilld for adoption or terminate a pregnancy if it was not done by free choice. I just don't see the issue as a black and white one. I see it as one clouded in morality and implications as to when and how we intervene with someone's right to exercise free choice and thought. I just don't see this as the government's role but I do see it as a role of the individual and her loved ones and her physician(s) and if she chooses her spiritual advisor, but ultimately the choice must be the woman's-it's her body. In our country TSS we have many religious prophets who declare what's good for other people. They often are men like me. Thank's but a woman's body is not for me to control. Not interested. I have enough problems with my own prostate thank you. Here this should not surprise you: http://www.alternet.org/story/155396/why_are_american_teens_so_ignorant_about_sex_and_birth_control2 points

Yeah because all the Liberal support immediately goes to the NDP. It's obvious the Liberal's voter base is fluid with factions that could go one way or the other. However, considering many Ontario Liberals are involved in this government, I wouldn't be surprised seeing another massive scandal coming from this lot.2 points

What our nation needs is to replace equipment as it becomes due for replacement, to have a steady form of funding, not one that gets chopped just before every election because it is an easy target....I am not advocating for a huge military, or a military capable of knocking over small countries.....i am advocating a military large enough to defend our sovereignty, all our foreign interests, all our defensive pacts to include NATO, NORAD, ABCA, plus have the resources to assist with any operations that other security agencies with our nation might have , Such as CSIS , RCMP, DFO, etc etc and lastly to be able to respond to any natural disaster within our borders with a reasonable force level to make a difference....2 points

As opposed to "left-wing conservatives" lol. What a statement. Vegreville (full of rural, conservative 2nd and 3rd gen Canadians) handled a lot of Immigration canada's paperwork. Suggesting that conservatives lack empathy as a group is both fallacious and detached from reality.2 points

People came here to build a new country and get away from the old countries crap. And she brought this up to cause trouble for the conservative candidates, and that is the only reason. She proved that by not compromising on it. It was a dirty move by a dirty government. They are the ones pushing hatred with that motion, by only sticking to Islam. Why do you think people in this country are getting sick and tired of immigrants and refuges being treated like some god and we the people must bend over for them. The past events have proven that people have had enough of it.1 point

What does that nonsense have to do with what I said? Your Islamophobic petition may attract a lot of signatures, but that is not a problem with Islam it is a problem of non-thinking Islamophobes. So the obvious question is what are "Islamic Rules"? Do we accept only what is explicitly in the Quran, or do we interpret it through the record of the teachings of Muhammad (sunnah)? If we do accept an interpretation, then which one do we accept as there are several. Do we use reasoning to apply the law to new circumstances, and do we need an authority or consensus of authorities to arrive at these interpretations. Sharia seems to encompass all of the above, and that is where the mass confusion is. Is Sharia simply rules in how to live my life, or is it rules to be enforced by others on me. Once we have the enforcement by others, and the many interpretations then we are no longer following Allah but other men.1 point

They sound a lot more progressive than conservative. Actions speak louder than words. The suggestion is based on years of being compared to Stalin and Pol Pot - who were both brutally conservative in their application of communism. Further evidence of this is in their utter lack of empathy and principles when wielding their power and authority and their actions were about as far from progressive as it gets.1 point

It's pretty funny/sad actually. I've heard no end of white guys lamenting that it's a white guy that's running something. Mostly they say this when there's a girl somewhere in earshot so they can seem all progressive and therefore socially acceptable to date. Much of the far left fringe is only there because it's the fashionable place to be and they are engaging in virtue signaling.1 point

Certainly people that commit criminal acts should be locked up. But mandating cameras in all cars? Nah, we need less surveillance state, not more. What would really help though is to start upgrading infrastructure which has been neglected for decades so that traffic is less horrible, reducing the incidence of road rage to begin with. Reduced traffic would also be a massive economic boon (people that spend less time sitting in traffic have more time to spend on other more productive activities), as well as an environmental boon as hundreds of millions of vehicles stop spending hours every day idling.1 point

I didn't say entirely. But JT has been appointing far too many people to high positions based entirely on their skin color, ethnicity, and ovaries. The decision on who should be let into Canada should be made by an unbiased person who has nothing but Canada's interests at heart, not a person who might have a conflict because members of his 'people' are still trying to get into Canada. I would suggest no one with dual citizenship should be considered for the boards.1 point

I assume you are talking about the employees in the Refugee Protection Division and Refugee Appeal Division of the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada. How do you suggest we structure such hiring practices, and remain conformant to the law? Are you specifically talking about the senior people in these divisions? My guess is that Sylvia Cox-Duquette meets your requirement, but certainly Ken Sandhu has one of those funny sounding names that says we need to investigate his background as who knows where he came from before he started working for the Ontario Public Service in 1971. Since however you seem to think it is a big problem, obviously you have some evidence to suggest that the "Refugee Boards" are composed entirely of foreign born refugees with a built-in bias.1 point

Oh great....never been denied but rudely admitted to the USA ! Is this a SJW thing ? Why not ? Think of the greenhouse gases that will be saved. I like the idea. See #1 again. Dealing with illegals and smugglers all day can make one bitter. Right...go if/when you want to gain entry on U.S. terms....or go elsewhere. No drama required either way. Have I "visited" Canada ? Yes....several times in a military capacity (Esquimalt port calls, Nanoose Range weapons testing, etc....no passports or CBSA border guards required. Oh, and one time in the 80's to drive from Ann Arbor to Buffalo the easy way...border entry and transit were not otherwise memorable.1 point

In a rare case we agree. I don't want illegals here either. However our government seems to not think that way. My grandparents followed proper immigration policies to get here, and that would have been tougher for them coming from Germany shortly after WWII. I waited a couple of days to respond to you. I personally believe you are some left wing nut job posing as a right wing extremist given the comments I have heard on this thread to anyone who questions an open border to illegals. So let me make this clear to you, Eye, Peter F, Impact. The fact that many Canadians believe giving illegal migrants automatic access and benefits when they step foot on Canadian soil I s not because we are against their culture, skin colour, religion, nose shape, nostril or armpit hairs, the size of their penises or breasts, the language they speak or whether their teeth are crooked. You got that? We clear? Good. Illegal migrants can not expect to be able to break laws and get away with it. However it does not justify using them as a pretext to engage in bigotry or hatred of anyone let alone them. Favourable treatment does breed resentment and backlash. Its why minorities like me are so concerned that improperly thought out laws and unfair enforcement is eve of laws are a direct danger to legitimate immigrants, legitimate refugees, new Canadians and visible minorities. We have to try be fair and humane and that may mean creating new restrictions and limitations for those who expect favourable or unrealistic treatment. It is a damn shame in the US Trump has been such an inarticulate, clumsy bafoon in handling the illegal immigrant issue. He's used words that undermine a legitimate concern. There is a legitimate concern about certain illegals. By scapegoating Mexicans and Muslims Trump changed the focus away from the issue to create a climate than now feels justified in hating specific ethnic groups, i.e., Muslims, Mexicans, of course Jews and that is wrong. I was genuinely heartened to see American Muslims enter a Jewish cemetery after it had recently been vandalized in St. Louis and physically begin putting back up vandalized tombs. They reacted spontaneously. No minority, and all of Canada is, wants to see minorities picked out and hurt. This nation is made of minorities. We want to make sure though that laws are applied fairly. As a minority Canadian and from refugees and immigrants all we have asked is equal treatment not favoured treatment. The chance to be in line is fair. Letting any of us jump the line is unfair. All of us who came lined up at one time or another. That is how it works. The entrance is not wide open an unlimited-it has to bottle neck and slow down for processing and vetting. It aint rocket science. When 8 lanes merge into 2, there's a line up. You want to drive your truck over other cars and smash y our way past everyone, something has to limit your behaviour. What I don't need is some smug elitist left wing white boy telling me that as a minority I can't be concerned about a backlash against minorities when laws are not fairly applied. That white boy aint the target of the hatred my people always are. We minorities want equal treatment not unfair treatment in our favour. These liberal leftist snot faced white boys do not speak for us. We also have no problem with Conservative white boys and girls. They treat us as equals. They don't demand the government give anyone special treatment. In regards to Taxme-where you and I disagree is on this-when my people came to Canada they embraced Canadian laws and culture. We did n ot shove our values on anyone. We put Canada first and still do. My Jewishness is a private thing. It became public because of the holocaust and it becomes public when people engage in anti-Semitism or attack Israel and use that as a pretext to hate all Jews. Most Muslims who come here mind their own business and work hard. They are getting stereotyped as all being extremist and refusing to assimilate. I am not part of those who stereotype Muslims that way. I can not be. If someone assigns a negatie stereotype to all Muslims its as bad as when they do it to Jews or Ukrainians, or Irish or you Taxme only because you are white or British. I can't expect you to respect me unless I show the same in reverse. My family did not come to this country to break it down but to build it positively as thanks for letting us in. Christian religion as it now is has reconciled itself with we Jews for the most part and thank God for that and maybe one day the same can happen with Muslims. Certainly it already has with progressive Muslims, Ismailis, Amidyah who I have been part of councils with along with all kinds of Christian sects, Hindus, Bahaiis, Unitarians, Buddhists, Taoists, atheist-agnostics. All of us put a Canada vision first. No we do not need to openly advertise or speak about what we believe-we show it in charitable deeds not words. We can and will sponsor private immigrants and refugees but we can't break the laws and allow others to destroy the system that makes it possible for immigrants and refugees to come here. I personally was involved with a school teacher and his wife from Zimbabwe. His crime was being able to read. The insane Robert Mugabe issued an edict to kill of anyone who could read and he barely fled the border with his wife. He came to Canada with nothing. A private charity got him and his wife over. She had tuberculosis. He had paper stuffed in his shoes and rather than spend his bus fare walked 10 miles a day on Bloor Street to visit her everyday in a woman's hostel. He got up and went to work at Wonderland every morning for three hours. Took him four buses. He then landed a job as a janitor and gardiner for a church and went back to Ryerson, got a degree in urban planning and now works for the city. He is a peaceful and loving man. Yah he was Christian. He had no issues with me being a Jew and helping him. I barely helped him. All I did was find stuff for his apartment like a toaster, chairs, a sofa, a bed all beng thrown out. That to me is the kind of guy we want in Canada. Intellectually keen, peaceful, caring and he now works helping others. People like him did not push the line nor would they ever. Amidyah Muslims did not push the line escaping Pakistan. They had leaders in their community accompany them to refuge hearings and provide proof of what they fled from. Not all of us who are against illegal migrants being rewarded are against refugees or immigrants, its the other way around. We don't want legitimate people being shut out because of line jumpers and no we don't want people like you Taxme assuming when we come to Canada we have different values. They said that about the Irish, Ukranians, Dhukkabors, Hndus, Vietnamese Boat people, Sieks, Chinese, blacks escaping slavery from the US, Fillippinos, Italians, Portugese, Jews, Sri Lankans, Lebanese, on and on. All of us came into Canada and we build this nation. We respect the British, French and aboriginal values and laws. Why would I not? But my family and the other families came at a time, when we did not expect-we did not think anyone would help us. Catholic churches did. The Salvation Army did. Synagogues did. Various ethnic communities did and still do but no one expected or demanded. We expected hardships and maybe two or three generations before real change happened. Its unrealistic to just dump people in cities as we are doing with illegals. I am against that because of the suspected 200-500 thousand illegals in Toronto, those with mental illness, not going to school, being exploited I n their own communities for prostitution, crime, cheap labour, remain invisible and are not getting help. Illegal migrant children are much more likely to be molested, raped, beaten, abused, turned into sex slaves So are their mothers. Illegal migrants have rates of suicide, alcoholism, domestic violence, directly related to having to live invisibly and its not being treated. No dumping an illegal in a school is not a favour. That child is not properly eating. He's coming to school being asked to translate for others and his parents 24 hours a day and not just language but culture. That child is not a child, they are a casualty of idiot liberals who think they have done them a favour giving them sanctuary. Sanctuary my ass. Sanctuary does not deny who you are, it affirms who you are. If I write a lot on this subject its because I have done my work with these people. They don't want pity, favourable treatment or anyone assuming they are unwashed savages in need of help. They just want a chance to work. Well the reality is many have to be stopped from entry and told they will like everyone else have to go to the back of the line and wait until its their turn. Practice what I preach every-time I go to a hospital or medical clinic and not surprisingly the people shoving in line often are people who came illegally and were told they are rewarded for pushing in line. They think that is the way to do things in Canada. We certainly send them that conflicting signal from our governments..1 point

They have mealy ears and lie about what they heard so they can change the subject. As I've said before we're seeing that politics is just about indistinguishable from a typical back alley political forum now, and is underscoring the need for some real moderation and facilitation. There will have to be some sort of revolution within the ranks of the media I think to ever effect some change in verifying the facts it reports but of course this will only increase the stridency of those who will screech that the media is biased.
