I've been curious about it, too. I wonder if my experiences have mostly been with NEWER immigrants, the town I was in had a high Muslim population and my neighborhood was where a lot of them settled. Or perhaps they were mostly from countries where there has been NO progress in the areas of human/women's rights. I dont' know if it's culture or the religion or a combination of both. But I do know, to a person, they treated Westerners with absolute and utter contempt. I don't think there was one who would've peed on me if I was on fire. Others had similar experiences where I lived. My freind, a female warehouse manager, was introduced to a new employee, a Muslim man, who refused to look at her, shake her hand or acknowledge her when she spoke. She worried that if there was ever an accident in the warehouse, this man would not help her in any way. This is the issue I have with Trudeau - he is not the one who has to live with these attitudes and deal with them every day. His wife will never screamed at, slapped or assaulted. He is not the one who has to live with such backwardness and just plain inhumane-ness. (Is that a word, or did I just invent it? Ha!) I don't believe that they will adapt to life in Canada with attitudes such as this, or with do-gooders refusing to challenge them and just "going along" with them in the name of tolerance. But this is why I believe your estimates of it only being a TINY minority with these attitudes is waaaay off.

I didn't say entirely. But JT has been appointing far too many people to high positions based entirely on their skin color, ethnicity, and ovaries. The decision on who should be let into Canada should be made by an unbiased person who has nothing but Canada's interests at heart, not a person who might have a conflict because members of his 'people' are still trying to get into Canada. I would suggest no one with dual citizenship should be considered for the boards.

1 and 3 are not at all the same. 3 is a positive belief in something with no evidence. 1 is a reasonable assumption based on the absence of evidence and the knowledge that gods are something that humans thought up. Its not difference than saying there is no Santa Clause. Its not completely impossible that Santa Clause, his reindeer, and his elves really DO exist somewhere in the universe. But since we know we made up that story, believing that he does not exist is quite reasonable. Believing in a vast supernatural construct without a shred of evidence is completely different.

And after they get 'arrested' they're put on a bus for Montreal where they can claim refugee status and pick up their cheques before heading to their in-law's houses. Why do countries figure in plans? For the usual reasons. Relatives etc.

It used to be common to leave kids in cars, windows down in summer, motors and heaters on in winter (the latter not for long usually). Kids used to be able to roam the streets alone, even after dark sometimes. But as news of kidnappings spread, people became fearful. I remember reading articles about how the chances of any particular kid going missing were very small, but still fear of the unlikely has gradually reduced kid's freedoms to almost nothing. Kids are still kidnapped at about the same rate, so all the extra care and lack of freedom didn't help. There is now evidence that kids can suffer psychological damage because they have so little opportunity to explore and learn the world on their own. Terrorism and fear of it (and Muslims) seems to be growing and with that our freedoms are gradually decreasing, whether imposed by our own fear or a government that wants to increase their control over their citizenry. Its a tragedy when a kid is kidnapped or otherwise harmed when out of their parents' direct sight. Its a tragedy when people are killed in a terrorist attack. Its also a tragedy when an entire generation of kids can't play outside after school or on weekends, when people won't explore their world and when nations close their borders because of the fear that the most unlikely event will actually happen.

Irrational fear that makes people behave irrationally is not irrelevant. If these people were not afraid, tourism would not be reduced.

Yup, we are. People are afraid because of terrorism, so they don't travel to places where they believe terrorism may occur (or if they do, they stay in their hotel room). This is a real fear they experience, although not really rational. Yes, this affects the economy of the country due to reduced tourism.
