You can look at literally any metric you want and see that Black Americans are systemically disadvantaged. Particularly as it pertains to the justice system, among individuals alleged to have committed the EXACT same offense, Black defendants are more likely to be stopped, investigated, arrested, charged, tried, found guilty -- and to receive greater sentences. At literally every stage of the justice system, Black Americans are disadvantaged. And that's true of other systems as well. So let's not pretend that everything is hunky dory because we oh-so-graciously had a civil war.
