could it possibly be a world that's chock-a-block full of bad actors waiting to pounce? Why not try your experiment at home... right here in Canada, do it for a year and carefully monitor the statistics.

Let's disarm the police: no gun, no taser, no collapsible baton, and no pepper spray.  The flashing red lights and siren can stay though.

By doing that we'll be setting an example for all criminals in Canada to follow. We'll appeal to their good nature and ask them not to act in a criminal manner, no violence, no robberies, no random stabbings on the subways, etc etc.

At the end of a year we can open the books and see if crime got better or worse, more violent or less. What do you suppose would happen? Don't discount the question now, don't blow it off and attribute it to the shadowy entity you think employs me to spread propaganda either. 

In order for me to take your proposition seriously you have to put forward a compelling argument that it would or could work.

Can you do that?

This is the problem. The NDP did well when they could appeal to blue collar workers and say we're going to fight for you

Now they're just fighting for whatever pops into their little heads. And only for people who have the appropriate  equity cards. (white males can just go die somewhere). 

It's possible they may survive to see a Resurgence someday but I truly doubt it. I think they're cooked just like the green party after Lizzie May left

We've been running an experiment where the sheriff was crooked and wheeling and dealing with many of the bad actors starting decades and decades ago. The results speak for themselves.

In addition to the flashing red lights and alarms there's also fire lots of heavy smoke and explosions.

So... try taking away LE tools of the trade and hang your hat on a general appeal to criminals.
