The Liberals can’t fix anything.  10+ years has made that quite evident.   Regardless, they won’t actually pursue policy that would actually fix things.

well,  in practical terms, I think the shine is already just beginning to come off Carney and people are starting to realize he's useless.  But that won't really kick in till the fall, people don't pay as much attention to politics during the summer.

So, my guess is that we'll see a gradually escalating drop in numbers for the libs and a corresponding lift for the cpc during the fall, and then we'll probably see a nice bump for the cpc in January/February as PP's leadership is confirmed and  then we'll see a little excitement probably around the ndp's leadership convention at the end of March 2026, which will be just about in time for the next budget which will be a bit of a disaster and most likely will try to please everyone while pleasing no one. 

At that point the ndp will be focused on taking back at least enough seats to form opposition, and they'll be targeting the Libs as much as the cpc to show they're not just liberal lap dogs anymore and to show why the libs need 'supervision' in the next parliament. 

That will probably go to the fall, where there will likely be an effort by the CPC and the NDP to push for an election, but unfortunately they will also need the bloc to agree.  So Carney will have a chance to drag things out.  but i suspect that things won't be going his way by then, and i suspect the CUSMA negotiations are going to involve an end or severe weakening to supply management, and quebec may not be happy about that. 

So - next election will be late 2025 spring 2026 at the earliest.

It is possible they could implode. They can get someone who's A diversity higher and we would see the same thing happen as happened to the green party. That is a real possibility.

But I doubt it. I think there's going to be a thirst for a more of a jack laton character. 

It's going to have to be someone with a strong hand and a clear vision. We'll see what they come up with. If they go full on woke leftard they'll sink.  The Libs have gone far enough right that there's a lot of room on the moderate left for them to fill without having to go full culture warrior.

My echocardiogram and heart scan appointments started out at once a year 16 years ago and they ramped it up to 6 months apart 6 years ago. I haven't had so much as a single postponement or rescheduling in all that time.

Yes I'm aware of waiting lists and know a couple of people who've been waiting.

I just don't think it's as bad as people like to make it sound though 

And there are lots of people who do seem to like the sound of how bad it is...its like it completes them somehow - it gives meaning to their lives or something.

Canada’s wait time is one of the worse in the world. The Americans are on par with the fastest wait time in world. The comparison could not be more stark. And unsubsidized cost for German and US healthcare costs are about the same. The GERMAN’s wait time, a renowned people for their efficiency… is the same with us inferior Americans.

His favourability continues to stay ~38% with ~57% having an unfavourable opinion.  Canadian's just don't like Poilievre, that's fact and the overriding reason he needs to be replaced.

41 percent of people voted for him.  42 percent voted for Carney.  And a lot of those were NDP voters. 

Sounds like they like him as prime minister just fine. At least as well as carney.

Their first concern will be obtaining official party status and proving they're not the liberal lap dog.  That's what destroyed them.  The absolute last thing they will even toy with considering is any kind of alliance or partnership with the libs.  They will sell the message that the libs can't be trusted (true) and that the libs don't have the best interests of Canadians at heart (true) and that the liberals are liars and scam artists who don't keep their word (true) and that is why you need a strong ndp presence to hold the cpc AND liberals to the fire whether it's a minority or not (surprisingly, probably also true). 

They're not likely to be dumb enough to blow up their party twice in a row
