Is there provincial nationalism outside Quebec?

Maybe PEI, maybe Alberta?

WTF?

Too many people in Ontario foolishly believe that they are "Canada". This guy Ford is an example.

Rae is another example. McGuinty too.

Years ago, Ontario had leaders like Robarts and Davis - they understood people in Ontario - and more important, they understood that Ontario is not Canada.

Dougie at least knows how to play the game a lot better.  Toronto and Ontario have cautiously embraced the Ford brothers, which tells you that Canadians aren't as left-leaning as some think.

In what way is Doug Ford right-leaning?

So true.... 😂  Poilievre had this one in the bag and was happily moving along until Trump and then Carney showed up.  For a career politician you'd have figured he would know how to pivot away from the political schtick

If you think the Liberals have EVER pivoted away from their tried and true election formula of scaring Canadians, you know nothing about Canadian politics. Btw, you guys act like Poilievre's numbers plummeted. They didn't. Instead, the NDP vote melted away and went to the Liberals.

Ford definitely knows how to play the game.  He's not your typical politician and maybe that's why Ontarian's and people from outside the province like him.  Poilievre couldn't have copied him though simply because of the likability factor which Ford has, and Poilievre doesn't.

Poilievre couldn't have imitated Ford because federal Conservatives want their party to have conservative policies.

Much like Jean Chretien, Ford's popularity is more a feature of the unpopularity and disorganization of the opposition. Then too, a lot of liberal minded people think, well, why vote for the Liberal when we already have a liberal in power.

How are they conservative? Enlighten me.

The fact the NDP vote to the liberals doesn't change the fact Poilievre lost a 25% poll lead.  It is what it is.... an embarrassing loss.

That hasn't worked out well for the Conservatives.  Maybe time to look for another playbook....

Bribe people like the Liberals and NDP do? You realize that, like a Ponzi scheme, that has an inevitable end, right? It's called Greece.

Yeah, for a guy who's done nothing but politics his whole life he showed a remarkable lack of political instinct and a huge misunderstanding of Canada.

The Cons should do Canada a favour and ditch him.

You may be right. I tend to agree.

Poilievre did show a remarkable lack of instinct.

Trump threw him a bone and Poilievre missed it.

Instead, Carney saw the bone and ran with it.

Doug Ford is Fred Flintstone and Homer Simpson.   People like those blue-collar everyman types over the smooth-talking suits.

Trump is Homer Simpson and Mr. Burns combined.

From the perspective of most Albertans and Quebecers, Doug Ford is a typical guy from Ontario, an Eastern American.

Most Quebecers view English-Canadians as how you view Americans.

As I say, Ontario is not Canada.

MG, most foreigners view us as American.

And as I say, we Canadians have all the benefits of being American without any of the responsibilities.

DoFo could go down as the most successful Premiere in Ontario history.

And to think, 10 years ago people thought he was just his late crack-smoking brother's wingman.

Latest Abacus poll also shows the federal Conservatives now leading the Liberals.  Latest Angus Reid poll also shows the federal Conservatives leading the Liberals now.

Bottom line is, no matter how you try to spin it, the conservatives dropped the ball. They could not pivot or recover and hence, they lost.

I wouldn't want an election today.  It's only been 4 months.   The earliest I'd want an election would be spring of 2026, which is entirely possible.  By then, Pierre will be in majority territory and the Liberals won't be able escape by a resignation.

Poilievre isn't going to change.  Hopefully the Cons do Canada a favour and admit he isn't the guy and find someone the country can get behind.  You know, someone like Carney.

Good, he shouldn't.  The polls definitely will though, that's what matters.

Polls are nothing more than opinions. The most important poll is votes which Canadian's spoke to during the federal election.

Huh?

The federal NDP is close to zero.

And we all must wait for the next Quebec election, and the Albertan referendum.

He’s obviously a skilled politician. I don’t agree with his plans to ban speed cameras, though. That sounds like a populist move.

Disagree.

Doug Ford is not a skilled politician. In Ontario, to win, all you have to do is run against the Americans.

Robarts. Davis...

They coulda chose Timbrell.

Doug Ford participated in the York Region PRIDE celebration.

Mr. Canada was a poster here years ago who said that he was going to attend PRIDE in Toronto with a video camera to record men having public sex, so he could do his duty and submit the evidence to the police.

🤔

Okaaaaaay, Mr. Canada.

Shortly after, Anthony banned him.  Then a poster named taxme joined, using a VPN to mask his IP address.

Taxme has never acknowledged being the same poster.

Wow. What a bunch of worthless BS.

So what?

And?

Pride parades have gotten nasty in the past, with people on the floats making out and engaging in extremely lewd conduct - which met the level of criminality here in Canada - for gay and straight alike.

So what's the point that you're trying to make? Why is it wrong for someone to say that they're going to record illegal activity to present it to the police?

Who gives a shit?

Honestly, why should I care?

You're here lying your face off every day, masquerading as "a conservative who adores all things Trudeau & Demmie and detests everything that every conservative politician in North America says or does every day".

How is anything that taxme may or may not have done here ten years ago any worse than what you actually do every day?

Why would I jump to the conclusion that "Anthony" actually had great cause to ban Mr Canada all those years ago? People get banned from internet sites for the wrong reasons all the time. The NY Post was even banned from Twitter just for telling the truth there, buddy, and you are well aware of it.

Your post is just meaningless, MH. don't hate me, I'm just the messenger.
