^NO EVIDENCE as USUAL so you're NOT SERIOUS.

Temporary reliance on coal after shutting down nuke plants does not mean they're not vigorously pursuing renewables. Duh

Why is Germany restarting coal plants?

In a bid to avert gas shortages due to the energy crisis fueled by Russia's war on Ukraine, Germany temporarily reopened some recently decommissioned and other soon-to-be decommissioned coal power plants in 2022 and 2023.Apr 2, 2024

What causes global warming is a scientific question that should be debated in a dispassionate way devoid of politics. What to do about it is a political matter for which no definitive answer can be found - it’s just opinion. Now you’re making me guilty of thread drift. There are lots of threads devoted to what actions we should take. This isn’t one of them.

Well then you run along and wave your flag while reasonable people do reasonable things.

We will all pay for it one way or another, IF we live long enough. Your daughter will pay for it if you DON'T.

Since you "think" with your wallet (which is empty).

YOUR IGNORANCE means you've DISCARDED REASON.

YOU can only apply REASON if you KNOW THE FACTS, which you obviously DO NOT nor CARE TO DISCOVER.

Nobody disputes that.

The poster named Deluge did dispute it, on the next page after your post.

The problem with democracy is that there are a lot of people who don't take things seriously, and they have far too much influence.

You bleeding m0ron! The point is Climate change will f*ck us up so it doesn't matter if it's natural or not. Obviously we can do something about it, and here you id1ot deniers are insisting we shouldn't.
OMG you can't seem to understand even the simplest concepts whatsoever.

And just what did you expect?

"AAAHHH! WE ALL GONNA DIIIEEE! SH1T ON OUR CURRENT SOURCE OF ENERGY AND DRIVE THE COST OF EVERYTHING UP! ADD MORE TAXES! AAAHHH!"

Are any one of you willing to be rational? Several influences on climate are at play. So when you climate religious threaten the food on peoples' tables...ya...they fight back.

There is and always has been alternatives to this...authoritarian panic. We beat back smog...we managed to allow the ozone to replenish...we can address this WITHOUT imposing asinine methods.

Look at the post just below yours.

Will it? I've never read a scientific paper that says anything "will" happen.

Now...when you fine climate religious calm down and want to talk rationally...and when you give up this insane war on fossil fuels...I'd be willing to bet even @Deluge will be more receptive.

Grow the fck up...for humanity's sake.

That's right. It doesn't matter because it's not man-made. If you think you can stop the Earth from doing its thing, then you're an even bigger dumb a$$hole than previously thought.

The best thing to do right now is put your propaganda down and go live your life. ;)

See what I mean about stubborn f*cking m0rons?
He knows the Arctic ice is melting, the NW Passage will soon open up,, crows about the need to defend it and all the while denies it is happening. They can't say it will open fully on exactly July 12, 2047 at 5:46 am, so they must all be lying.

Worse, has the idea the goal of humanity is to exploit the Earth as much and as fast as possible for maximum profit while all the while knowing he will see none of that profit. Deny the negative and celebrate zero gain, swallow another "at least..." as a big win.

Do your own research if you even know how, and it doesn't mean scour the absolute dregs of the Internet to confirm what your simple mind has already decided. Like your stunned assumption that everyone else only acts out of fear. The only fear I see is a lot of people's fear of learning anything new or unpleasant.

Psst...Dumb Dumb...he's not denying the tick up in temperature. He's denying that man has caused it. But nice try at lying.

As long as you freaks keep trying to destroy civilization, @Deluge, myself and millions upon millions of people who want their lives back, will stop you.

So now might be a good time to reevaluate your tactics and learn to compromise.

You want clean energy? It probably doesn't exist. But "cleaner" energy might. It must be as cost effective and reliable as fossil fuel.

Now...what's it gonna be, boy? Rational methodology, or never-ending arguing that will only get all of us nowhere?

I already acknowledged that.

In this comment, only ~30% of the people are reasonable.  The other ~70% are unreasonable believing we need to address man-made climate change.  It's an upside down world....

The only fear I see is on your side, but it's not just fear is it - it's also a push to scare the public into submission.

You f*ckheads have been screaming and weeping since the 19th century, and now we're sick of it. It's not just black fatigue, it's WOKE fatigue, and America's outgrowing it.

It is for the most part, impossible to say definitively that man has created climate change. However, at this juncture, it's clear that panic and ham-handed methods do not change the trajectory nor the opposition. So what to do?

Well...since our ham-handed methods have only served to make opposition more stern, it is reasonable to conclude a new method need be employed.

As I've said, there are alternative methods available.

IMO...we need to remove the obstacles to fossil fuels that we've imposed, thus allowing the inflationary pressures imposed to subside, and actively research for a solution that does not impose inflationary pressures.

I'm on the other side of that argument....  IMO we keep working towards lower emissions and accept the fact there is a shorter term cost to that.

Then you perpetuate the conflict.

And you're now losing. The USA is releasing the industry to drill baby drill.

Much of Europe will be fueled by US gas and oil.

Canada is removing obstacles to fossil fuel.

You can't hit people in the wallet and expect them to just roll over. Especially when you can't prove your doom's day premise.

Drill baby drill is nothing more than a Trump mantra.  The US has lead to world in oil production the last 6 consecutive years.  The US also isn't in the O&G business, companies are and they're accountable to board of directors, shareholders and their own p&l, not Trump.

Again, difference of thought....  I'd rather pay more to see a cleaner world for my children and grandchildren.  That's just my 2 cents.

Since we're at an impass on cost, YOU pay your 2 cents worth and leave my wallet out of it.

I'm willing to do that, but you need to pay for the clean-up costs from the continued affects of climate change.
