No but you will criticize China for needing to use the energy required to produce everything you buy from them. Per capita, China ranks 25th in CO2 emissions. Canada is #12 and the US #16. Perhaps our appetite for manufactured products is as big a problem as China manufacturing them. 1 Quote

What are Santa Ana winds and how are they fuelling LA wildfires? https://www.bbc.com/weather/articles/cg7r7rrex8no "These strong and gusty east or north-easterly winds blow from inland towards the coast. They can occur numerous times throughout the year and have been known to happen on over 20 occasions during some years." ... " How strong are the Santa Ana winds? The strength of the wind is what helps to spread fires rapidly. Speeds of 60 to 80mph (95-130km/h) are common, but gusts of up to 100mph (160km/h) can occur during the worst Santa Ana events." Nobody downloads anything. They have power requirements the same as everybody. They have choices to fill that power requirements same as everybody. While they do fill a portion of it with Renewables one way or another, they tend to fill the vast majority with dirty energy producing sources. I haven't checked this year but for a couple of years there they were adding basically the entire output of Canada every 15 months to their total No matter how you want to slice it they're not super serious about reducing emissions. Their missions are increasing and will likely continue to increase for some time Quote There are two types of people in this world: Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data

Yes indeed, they're katabatibc winds, that's their job, that's what they do, and they do it in a predictable fashion with no regard for the opinion of climate crazies. That's exactly how important opinion is here. They're recurring, and due to compressional heating they have extremely low relative humidity. Throw in gusts / speed and they earn their nickname of "devil winds." Here's the fun part and it's only fun because liberals can't seem to do it. This is something you accept as a reality, something you adapt to, something you prepare for and something you train and equip for if you want to live in the affected areas. That means forestry control, early detection, rapid response, contingency planning and making the required resources available where and when needed. Simply put, it's a meteorological reality, progressives can call it "MAGA MAGOT induced global warming" if they wish... but they'll still have to embrace the suck or take their lumps because reality doesn't give a rat's butt what they think. Prepare and adapt or burn, simple eh? 1 Quote
