Just 5 days before "all hell was scheduled to break loose" if the hostages weren't released, Hamas made a deal to release the hostages. Putin has signaled all along that this is what he wants. Zelinsky has come out and said he now need NATO and in particular, US boots on the front lines. The Ukraine war has definitely taken a 180-degree turn since the early fall, based on the fact that there's talk of peace now instead of alarming escalations, but it's still not over. I'm hoping for lot more progress, quickly. Russia sees NATO in Ukraine as a gun pressed up against their face, and you should think about how much you'd enjoy Hillary or Joe Biden having a loaded gun in your mouth.
