I have a serious question to the Canadians, what are your Thanksgiving traditions and what do you eat?

For us its turkey, stuffing, sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie and pecan pie is fairly standard. Now different regions have different "must haves" but in general that is the base meal.

Pretty similar stuff. We have turkey, potatoes, cranberry sauce, bread crumb dressing, pumpkin pie, etc. I love pumpkin pie. I have pumpkin pie on my birthday instead of cake. I think when I was a kid we always had the choice between turkey, duck and goose at the table, because I live in a rural area and people hunt. We had turkey, duck and goose and Christmas, too.

With the exception of pecan pie, pretty much the exact same thing.

You guys are just wrong.

turkey is gross

I'd rather do a beer can chicken on the grill

anything but turkey

I feed all my turkey to my dogs

and they do love it, so it doesn't go to waste

Canadians eat the exact same things for Canadian Thanksgiving

which is technically a British Harvest Festival,  which the British don't even celebrate anymore, held in October

It's cheap and can feed a lot of people.

Turkey is great but most people don't brine it which is key to keep it moist. Both smoking and frying are good options too.
