MAGA's sure admire it.

Biden, who was supposed to be the 'great unifier' turned out to be one vindictive SOB didn't he? So your example doesn't really work unless the MAGA's are vilifying Biden and excusing Trump. Which I don't believe was the case.

Indeed, no one should make excuses for Trudeau.

Peterson isn't a villain, he's a pompous egoist.

Ok, so he's not an angel either. I'll give you that one. 😉

Did he? His prosecutor went after his own son yet he hasn't done anything to shut him down.

LOL, they were going to kill the whole case!

It was only at the last minute a judge looked at the plea bargain and was like, WTF is this garbage that they were forced actually to go back and prosecute him.

That doesn't even factor in that they purposefully sat on the IRS charges they could have gone after him with until the statute of limitations expired.

But yeah, sure, everything is all on the up and up here... and I still give it 90/10 odds that the old man as a lame duck with nothing to lose goes out pardoning him in the 11th hour.

And I imagine you will not be here to eat any crow when he does.

He might, we’ll just have to wait and see. When it comes to pardoning his own henchmen, Trump has outdone every president in history. He’s even pardoned people who were never convicted of anything. How does that work?

You folks are going way off topic.  What does Trump have to do with Trudeau accusing Peterson?

Perhaps Trudeau making false allegations against Peterson will just give Peterson a lot more notoriety and fame.  We know Trudeau is already way down in support, perhaps about 20% and most Canadians want him gone.  So anything he says may just help Peterson now.

Poiliever won't get a clearance because then he can't make shit up. He doesn't care if his party has been compromised. You can't repeat classified stuff because it is classified. People could get hurt and investigations compromised. How would he know what "egregious facts" are when he isn't interested in finding out? What egregious facts has he disclosed other than what comes out of his ass?

The guy is a pure political animal. Full stop.

Nope.  He knows Trudeau is in deep and wants to be able to call it out.  Trudeau is trying to gag him.

Call what out? How can he call anything out if he doesn't know what is going on?

Well for starters he can demand to know what's going on and that the public know at the same time. We'll just completely valuable and valid. He can demand that Trudeau answer questions on this or face the public if he refuses to. He's not allowed to do that if he's read the report.

He can ask questions about some of the MP's involvement publicly and demand answers publicly.

There's a lot of things he could do that he can't do the moment he's read the report

Do any of the Americans here think the CIA would brief anyone who wouldn't promise not to compromise their sources?

Hi! I'm an American. I have no idea what this has to do with what happened here.

CSIS is our version of the CIA. They do security clearances and briefings, not Trudeau. Trudeau says he asked them to brief Poilievre about foreign interference in his party but they refused to brief anyone without a clearance which Poilievre refuses to request.

It's a side story that really doesn't have anything specific to do with Trudeau's claims about Peterson.

The fbi does it all the time.

@User,  that's a little misleading. They're like our fbi and cia all in one. That's an important distinction.

Recently it came to light that CSIS (prounounced see sis ) had provided a report Showing that there was a great deal of Chinese interference in the last election and that they had been spending a great deal of money to influence or scratching or otherwise control members of parliament. It appears that the vast majority of this benefit helped the liberal party who is currently holding power

This was leaked btw  the gov't kept this hidden.

The opposition leader has been demanding answers about this. the federal government has offered to show the opposition the unredacted full report. However the report is currently classified so you have to give your security clearance to read it and part of the agreement for that will be that once they read it they cannot ask questions about it.

CSIS  does not refuse to brief anyone. Trudeau can release the information to his heart's content, it is up to him to determine the classification of a document if you wishes. But unless he does declassify it then it would be unlawful for them to disseminate it. True is choosing not to allow the document to be shared with believer unless he gets his security clearance in which case once he reads it he cannot comment on it or ask questions in public.

The left are attempting to claim that by not agreeing to that the opposition leader is doing the wrong thing and doesn't really care about the issue

The opposition says that their job is to publicly question what the hell is going on and they're not willing to give up the right to ask questions. Instead they demand that the government release more information to the public about what is happening so that they can decide what to think.

Aristides Is a Liberal supporter and tends to cast things in a more positive light for the liberals while ignoring certain elements of the truth. If PP signs off on reading the report he loses his right to demand answers and the primary job of the opposition is to demand answers for the public from the gov't.

Just crazy he would claim this. Of course Trudeau's office offers no comment and he is going to hide from this.

Jordan Peterson snaps back over Russia claims made by Justin Trudeau

https://www.thestar.com/politics/federal/jordan-peterson-snaps-back-over-russia-claims-made-by-justin-trudeau/article_7b8d8d24-8d94-11ef-afb4-5b2236e17082.html

"“We’ve recently seen that RT is currently funding bloggers and other YouTube personalities at the right such as Jordan Peterson,” Trudeau said, speaking in French on Wednesday. ."

From Peterson:

“It’s a very serious allegation,” he elaborated in an interview with the National Post. “You should have done your bloody homework and if you’re going to make accusations, you should have at least got them right,” he said, adding he is considering legal action.

“I don’t think it’s reasonable for the prime minister of this country to basically label me a traitor and I don’t find it amusing.”

It's pretty stupid for Jordan to admit he is a traitor if anyone can find any evidence that russia provided him with any money.

It wouldn't surprise me one bit if some Russian operative handed him a donation at some point. He probably has a lot of donors.

Would that imply he is a traitor? Well according to himself, yes.
