There was a lot of unknowns and if anything we overdid things but in the end there was nary a person who hadn't caught Covid at least once in the world and it is still lurking around now but because a Republican isn't in office it is largely ignored. But, let’s get one thing really straight here:  Trump got convicted of 34 felonies because he broke the law.  He wanted to cover up these payments and he did it to help his election and to avoid taxes.  He deliberately categorized payments to a porn star as legal expenses.

The United States had a greater fatality rate from COVID than nearly all developed countries, and many 3rd World countries. Per capita, America lost nearly 3 times the people from COVID as Canada, considering Canada handled the pandemic outbreak better. Historically, this should not be much of a surprise. During the AIDS epidemic, the US death toll dwarfed the Canadian fatality rate, to the point that even today, one is twice as likely to catch HIV in the US than in Canada.

the vast majority of covid deaths happend right away in highly dense populations such as new york before anyone knew it was an airborne thing. Remember when Canada was saying wearing a  mask was actually dangerous? 

When you take that huge initial surge out from new york and a couple other cities in the first month or so, then their numbers look exactly the same as canada or anywhere else.

There's plenty of documentation on this, it's been well researched.  IT's no failure on the part of trump. Sorry.
