A normal policy-focused debate highlighted Trump's weakness and low quality

I thought both Vance and Walz did well. I loved the civil Midwestern dad vibes, being one myself. The two guys were nice to each other but differed on their policy ideas. Clearly Vance was trying to appeal more to the center than he usually does. After 10 years of listening to Trump's indecipherable gibberish and hyperbole, any republican able to form normal sentences suddenly seems like a genius. I already knew Walz was good but Vance improved his standing as a person capable of appearing decent and serious. Meanwhile trump by comparison seems like an absolute turd of a candidate.

I don't agree with Vance on anything, I find him very unlikable,  and his pet-eating bs is certainly dishonest. However it is an exaggeration to characterize him as a hateful extremist. There are actual hateful extremists far beyond what Vance can muster.

And both were more interested in answering the actual questions posed by the moderators than their top-of-ticket counterparts. 

But yes, the comparison to Trump is especially stark, considering his rambling, non-sequitur diatribes.

Except he could NOT admit that Trump lost 2020, and right AFTER he made the EXCUSE of him "focusing on the future" he immediately made that a LIE by alleging Kamala did something bad in 2020.

The problem  of illegal immigration did not start with Kamala Harris, it was also happening under Donald Trump. But it is accurate to point out that illegal immigration got demonstrably worse since she took office.

Just as it is accurate to point out that there are more wars happening under Harris/Biden.

There was a bipartisan bill that proposed the toughest border legislation ever. Trump told Republicans to kill it because he didn't think he could win if the problem was solved. He is not a patriot and neither are the people who support him.
