To live peacefully and travel, trade easily, we ordinary people ask you politicians/diplomats to do this:

-dissolve NATO

-make Taiwan part of China, like Hongkong

-unite Korea

About the Middle East and Africa, agree to disagree.

As Mearscheimer does not say, we no longer face an ideological/communist enemy

As Mearscheimer wisely says, we now live in a multi-polar world. Reagan won. Where is a Nixon when you need him.

Unite Taiwan & China and Korea even though the people that live there are opposed?
Smoke from that pipe long enough one might suggest uniting Gaza, Israel and the WestBank into a single secular state too. Hell toss Lebanon and the Golan Heights into the mix.

Taiwan, China?

North/South Korea?

I have been to Crimea, Kiev.

I have been to Israel and Jordan.

Ordinary people want diplomats to get along.

I was expecting a response/post.

In 1989, the wall fall.

In 1996, we had a wonderful world. Then Clinton bombed Serbia.

In 1991, Bush Snr defended Kuwait.

In 2003, Bush Jnr invaded Iraq.

I would prefer a change in the US but whoever wins in Nov 2024 - we can have world peace.

The world (China, Russia, India) must accept that Reagan/Lee Quan Yew  won - free markets work.

America (Reagan) must accept it is a multipolar world.

Mearsheimer makes a lot of sense like Gene Roddenberry.

Now we're in the anthropocene.

A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.

You seem to think you're the only Canadian around here, why is that?

This is a Canadian forum.

We Canadians get along. Since the 18th century, the Swedes avoid war.

On an American server as Bush-Cheney 2003 always enjoyed telling us.

Yes we do.

Let me explain my point:

we Canadians (Catholic/Protestant/French/English) get along, have avoided civil war - largelybecause we have counterweights.

Yet, we Canadians (mostly men) have gone abroad and died for what we call Canada, this idea.

Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra, when the walls fell.

Whatever.

To you Americans, Reagan won. For the Brits, Thatcher won.

For me, the free market won.

I first travelled to China in 1983. Deng -not Mao- changed the world.
