What’s Wrong With George Bush?

As I listened to Obama’s magnificent speech last night, I wondered: Where’s George Bush? Where’s Cheney? They were wildly popular with Republicans, elected twice… but not present at the RNC convention at all.  
 

The Democrats had both Obama’s AND Hillary Clinton AND Joe Biden.  The Republicans apparently hate their own people.  In four years, the RNC will have another convention… and 82 year-old Trump will be nowhere in sight.

Democrats shouldn't parade Bill though. He's the past and stinks of many things.

So, your big point here is that Democrats care so little about their own principles, they will sacrifice it all for the power of the party.

The big point is that Republicans eat their young.  They claim to be conservative but they are ashamed of their own past.

This is an example of what's RIGHT with Bush. Yes, he was incompetent, but he was always a decent human being. And at this point he's far more likely to show up alongside the Obamas than at Trump's RNC. 

Trump is a betrayal of the American experiment. No past president likes or respects him in the least. Hell, his own administration doesn't like or respect him. He's contemptible.

Why are you talking about trump? I wasnt...I was discussing democrats vs Republicans. Trump, in fact, never supported Bush and Bush never supported trump...so one would expect a Bush ass kisser wouldn't like Trump.

 

So you are just supporting my assertion in 2 different ways. YOU are focusing on a person rather than a party, and YOU are reminding us that there was a schism in the Republicans.

It's clear of course that anybody who wouldn't or couldn't find a way to speak out now, will not be able to explain it out later. The statement that was made publicly on behalf of the party, via due process and so they can either disown it, in some way but publicly too, or accept it openly or tacitly and that's how it will be interpreted by the people and history.

Well… Bill Clinton gave a rousing speech and they loved it. Big tent in the Democratic Party.  

But at the RNC, no George Bush. No Newt Gingrich. Heck, not one former House Speaker.  Not Gingrich, Not Hastert, Not Boehner, not Ryan, not McCarthy.

But, on the positive sign, Peter Navarro got out of jail in time to speak, so there’s that. Yes, they put a convict on stage.
