Upon taking office, Biden issued Executive Order 14019 which essentially directs federal agencies to use taxpayer funds to interfere in elections. One agency by which this is being done is the Department of Education (DOE), for example. The DOE issued a memo in February announcing Federal Work-Study funds could now be used to employ students at government agencies to register voters or serve as poll workers. College-aged students and recent graduates are statistically far more likely to be Democrats.

In addition to the DOJ’s role in the get-Trump lawfare, Biden’s Attorney General Merrick Garland has declared the department would challenge state laws related to voter ID requirements or safeguards put in place for mail-in ballots and the use of drop boxes.

Meanwhile, even individual states are taking steps to rig the election in Democrats’ favor. Pennsylvania, for example, has partnered with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) — which has been described as the “nerve center” of government censorship — to target speech it deems a “threat” ahead of the election. Nevada’s legislature passed a law in 2021 that closely mirrored a temporary pandemic-related measure that extended the mail-in ballot deadline during the 2020 election. Republicans have challenged the new law.

This is why I think Trump has such an uphill battle no matter what the polls say. Nobody should be surprised if 2024 is a repeat of 2020. 

And should they win again, Democrats will once again insist it was the most secure election ever.

Whenever you people post things like this, it's like announcing to the world you have no idea how our government works. Like you were born yesterday and then started consuming memes from the alt-right infobubble.

Try a little reality. 

A. You have no idea what the actual facts are, just a claim for which you've seen zero evidence. You're a sucker for those.

B. Poorly maintained voter rolls is not evidence of cheating. It's usually evidence of budget constraints. 

C. This dude took over the job last year--from a Republican--so any implication that the poor maintenance is cheating would implicate Republicans. 

Maybe Republicans should have decided "enough is enough" when they should have been maintaining the rolls.🙄

Honestly what needs to really happen in the states is the federal government needs to take over all elements of voting, past common sense voting laws that are the same everywhere, and then conduct elections with consistency and proper controls just like we have in Canada.

For all the bellyaching that Trudeau won again even though he got lower than the popular vote you never heard anybody suggest that somehow he stole the election.

People in Canada still have faith in their system, and the US desperately needs that.

Part of it was practical.  Remember  this was being worked out 250 years ago. The circumstances in each state were very  different at the time and flexibility was needed.   And technically the electoral colleges are the ones to vote so it was up to each state to figure out how to let the people "recommend" which person the college should vote for.  So it just sort of made sense at the time and nobody changed it. 

But their system leads to massive distrust in the process over all, with some states allowing things other states would consider illegal and irregularities of all kinds becoming common, and while it is the colleges that vote the fact is that it's the votes of the people that are reflected there and with modern tech there's zero reason why it should be different from one state to the next. 

And enough with this 'you're trying to repress the blacks' nonsense.  Put in place some sturdy laws about requiring id to vote, laws making the voters lists federal not state wide to avoid problems. and a few other things to make it HARD to cheat.  I don't care if people think there's been cheating before or not, it's necessary to show that it's hard to do so without being caught.  

That's how people can have faith in the system again.

Well traditionally from the left-wing point of view there are three ways

One,  They claim that no matter how bad their guy is, no matter how terrible or how many young children he sniffed or the like, the other guy is worse. It doesn't matter who the other guy is. Mitt Romney was going to put the blacks back in chains. Hitler is worried that people will start calling him trump. And the next guy will be even worse. So what choice do they have but to vote for their guy? It's all the republicans fault for not putting forward a good candidate  (Spoiler: there are no good republican candidates in their books)

two, false reality. By harnessing they're almost godlike abilities for self delusion, they simply take anything positive that their opponent has done and make it negative, take anything negative that their opponents has done and make it far far more negative and then cherry pick positive things about their own candidate to make him sound incredible when he simply isn't.

For example they will literally try and claim that trump ran higher deficits than Biden did. This is categorically false. It will tend to look at the GDP without looking at the corresponding other elements and try and pretend that this indicates a good economy while people are starving. They will note that gas prices were lower under Biden than they were with trump. Which is such an incredible lie that Jesus is ears bleed a little every time he hears it but in their mind it's completely true

And of course the third method, religious devotion. Their candidate has never done anything wrong, and anything that people think he did wrong he was forced to by someone else. Biden's hair sniffing is a sign of affection. Inappropriately showering with your daughter to the point where she's willing to diarize it is what being a good Dad is all about. Despite being the commander-in-chief and overseeing all of the activities and making the final decision as to what was going to happen and whether or not there would be a withdrawal the absolute disaster that he wrote in afghanistan is trump's fault. You see, trump forced him to allow the Taliban to overrun the country.
