It will take quite some time for the appeals process to begin. I would not want to guarantee that he will be allowed out before that. It's the same judge who will make that decision and this guy is obviously out to be known as the man who sent trump to prison.

If there is a public backlash against this the dems may convince the judge to go with house arrest. That way he can still "Attend" his rallies by Zoom. But honestly I don't think that will make the public reaction any better.

I think they have kind of got the tiger by the tail at this point. If they let him go with probation you know as well as I do he will ignore the conditions and they'll be right back to having to make a decision about putting it in jail but now they'll look like the bully, but if they put him in jail now they look like the guys who put their political opponent behind bars to win an election.

Either way is he loses there is zero chance that people will accept the results of that election. If you thought it was bad last time when there was no real proof that lied and cheated you can imagine what it'll look like this time.
