The thing is YOU DON'T KNOW THAT there isn't.

Cause you prefer to gamble instead of playing it safe.

And your children are going to blame you if you're wrong.

Maybe you don't care cause you'll be dead. 🤮

This is id1otic.

We all know there's no crisis because your scientists would have said as much.

Thus you annoying little climate-cultists have us trashing our economies based on no sound reasoning.

If you want to be terrified by lies, go ahead. But this insanity must and will end.

No there is not!

The only real evidence is that man's presence causes the average temperature of Earth to rise slightly.

Is this cause for concern? Sure. We should explore alternative energy sources.

Is this cause to reak havoc on the current economy's primary base? Fck no!

To the Greenies...especially @robosmith and @Michael Hardner.

People...we know that man's presence creates some amount of "global warming". That conclusion is rational and incredibly obvious.

We also know that scientists will not conclude we have any sort of climate crisis. What we have is a change in the average global temperature that "could", at some undetermined time, present a real crisis.

Thus we have...at best...a warning from our scientists.

OK...we can begin to finance exploration into "clean energy". We can build more nuclear plants. We can do a number of things. What we cannot do with any sort of rationality, is have the governments dump on fossil fuels ESPECIALLY as the world economy is recovering from "The Great Rona Freakout"

You need to take a deep breath...calm down...actually read and understand the scientific reports...and allow the global economy to recover with the resources we HAVE.

WTH are you? The entire US is experiencing a RECORD HEAT WAVE, except for here in San Diego where the high is a balmy mid seventies near the coast.

If you go inland 20-30 miles, it's over 100.

I'm in higher elevations, woketard; have you ever been to the mountains? It can get chilly up here even in mid-June, but NEVER did we have this kind of wind chill sweep through - it felt like global cooling and I think you wet diapers better get your asses up here and have a good cry - maybe that will help.

Every story is a climate story, the weather is always your fault, the unrelenting “everything you love will be destroyed in a fiery conflagration of climate collapse” pearl-clutching and the only cure is bigger and more global government. None of this is an accident.

A great many have come to realize that climate science and climate reporting have become the near exclusive domain of the charlatan and the grifter.

And....guess what?  They have an actual playbook:

This technique is called “embedding” and it’s very effective as a means to shape perception. “Wow, even the cooking column speaks about climate change. Everyone must believe this!”

It makes it seem like certainty.

Of course, it helps to make sure everyone stays on message and in line with the commissars.

Just a little embedding everywhere. It’s not some emergent consensus of views. This is an actual school to learn how to turn your reporter gig into green grant griftopia - just learn the magic words, put them everywhere, and let the money roll in.

Climate catastrophism is big business.

New Report Reveals Massive Scale of Green Billionaire Funding of ‘Climate Emergency’ Reporting in Mainstream Media – Watts Up With That?

Two years, 400 journalists and 50 climate experts: Here’s what we learnt about how to report on climate change | Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism (ox.ac.uk)

This trend is no longer haphazard nor piecemeal. It’s a unified, organized, well funded edifice of crony corporatist marketing, manipulation, and grift being funded by investment experts who know an attractive $ value $ proposition when they see one.

The report shows clearly that the green billionaires are calling most of the shots in promoting stories of Net Zero-inspired climate collapse. It is noted that they may fund journalists “to cover stories in a particular subject area, determined by funder interests and goals”.

Any journalist can apply to be a member of the EJN and the “primary benefit” is said to be access to grant funding for stories and “training opportunities”. The operation claims over 25,000 members in 200 countries.

The list of EJN funders is a long one and includes many well-known supporters of climate fear-mongering work. Included is the European Climate Foundation, heavily supported by Michael Bloomberg and Extinction Rebellion paymaster Sir Christopher Hohn. Other supporters include Tides, Gulbenkian, Oak, Packard, Climate Justice Resilience, MacArthur and Rockefeller. Helping out with taxpayer money are political and government organizations including the United Nations and the British Foreign Office.

This is a near perfect system to grab and co-opt failing journalists. Can’t make ends meet? Come get a grant! There’s plenty! Just toe the line, sing from our hymnal, make every story a climate story, and watch the money roll in.

It's also a lie of epic proportions when you consider the effect.

You can post all the bullshit you want, it won't change what is happening.

I'm not talking about changing anything.  I'm talking about how we calculate temperature and the inherent flaws of using modelling to predict the future.

We saw the utter failure of using modelling to mandate actions during covid.

For instance, did you know that most other countries use the HEAT INDEX to determine an apparent temperature?

They combine the outside air temperatures with the humidity level to determine the heat index. You can try calculating this number yourself using this online tool. The heat index was invested in 1979 and has since been the standard used all over the world.

Canada on the other hand, developed its own measurement formula called HUMIDEX and to this day, we uniquely calculate “feels like” temperature using this metric, which provides a much higher number than the rest of the world.

Check this out - for Sturgeon Falls, ON recently:

https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2Fa6080f9d-52fb-435b-9da3-c3abc1798982_2074x922.png?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email

The Canadian Weather Network has claimed it was “feeling like” 40+ degrees all that week, while the American Weather.com claimed it only “felt like” 32-33 degrees.

https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2F36b28f66-fce1-405a-a2ad-221b2730268a_732x758.png?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email

The Canadian network also is one degree higher.

How can that be?

These two companies don’t have different radars or weather stations. They all rely on the same data provided by Environment Canada. But the Canadian side seems to apply calculations that generate more fear.

This fits nicely with the mainstream narrative that we are in a “climate crisis”. It also helps support Canada’s unique carbon tax system.

Quote the scientist that says we have a climate crisis. No? Then p1ss-off Tweenkie-Poo. Your lies have been fully exposed and you just enhance your standing as village fool now.

It's pretty crazy. Honestly I think a lot of Canadians look south and think to themselves that so what if the temperature goes up three or four degrees on average? Those guys have got it worse down south right now and they're still surviving  :)

Tweenkie-Poo ... what I understand is the conclusions of all those "peer reviewed" scientific documents you like to toss about. None of them say we have a crisis. NOT ONE! Why? Because there is no crisis. There is a slight uptick in global temperatures brought about by all sorts of human activity. This is a reasonable conclusion. A provable conclusion.

Now...as I said...provide one of your hallowed scientific conclusions that say we have a climate crisis...or go spread your gross fear-porn elsewhere.

True. Temps have risen in the SW United States but still seeing population growth and folks still do ok. The big change has come in the amount of water in reservoirs. Some of it is increased temps but a lot of it is population that the land has never seen before. Before Europeans.. the place that we now call Las Vegas was empty. So was the Inland empire of Southern Cal. Los Angeles was very sparsely populated. Now they are major metro areas with a combined 30 million people living there.

The areas that we now call Reno, Boise, Bend OR, Salt Lake City.. we are also mostly empty if not completely. The stretch on interstate 80 from Reno to Salt Lake city was 100% empty when the first settlers came.

Makes sense, and there is only so much terraforming you can do to change what is.

The two strategies that the cities/counties have been using are water restrictions as to discourage ornamental lawns and using reclaimed water at parks/golf courses. That can only do so much especially when your consumer (los angeles, phoenix, las vegas, st george, fresno) are quite the distance from the supplier (Colorado River, Owens Valley, Yosemite Valley). Lots of evaporation coupled with arcane water rights that honestly should be renegotiated but that is going to be quite the battle. Old crusty ranchers living out on the desert can put up quite the fight.

Wow.  Sounds like you guys are one step away from fremen and sandworms.

I think they're going to have to consider capping growth at some point. The world has a lot of water but it's hard to get it somewhere it doesn't want to be.  Easier to move to the water i would think.

I predict that it will come to that. The Midwest offers water and at the moment.. lower housing costs. However, the younger generation sees no value in living in Hays, KS (as an example). They want to be close to the outdoor recreation, live in a place with 300+ days of sunshine, and be near the epicenter of the entertainment industry (LA, LV, and SF). The West is mostly an expensive place to live. Housing costs are very high unless you really go out of your way to live in the Hinterlands. Mountainous terrain, desert, lots of federally owned land, and remoteness make the dynamic exist.

What you don't understand is the science BEHIND GHG GW. That is PHYSICS and it is INEVITABLY going continue to cause GW as long as the CO2 INCREASES.

But you would rather play Ostrich and IGNORE the very clear consequences. At the current rate, nothing is going to stop the permafrost from melting and trigger a climate tipping point. Not being able to predict the exact timing does not mean it won't happen, it just means YOU WON'T FACE UP TO IT.
