Normally they try to time things so that they get in during a good economy, screw it up, leave the clean up to the conservatives, and then get back in when everyone's mad at the conservatives for being the 'bad parent' and fixing things. This could be bad though - Trudeau has destroyed things SO much and in such an OBVIOUS way that PP will be able to make things better fairly simply, especially in the short term, without causing a lot of pain. So - an entire generation of kids may come to realize that the left wing is a bad thing for their future. If PP plays it right it could be well over a decade of conservative rule this time. This is very upsetting to people like Ex-flyer. Upsetting to the point where he gets so upset he posts ass porn. That's how upsetting it is for him. The increasing interest payments keeps them from doing anything about their extreme deficit spending unless they're willing to reign some oft he useless spending in. Which they're not. Thats why they can't cancel even the raise in carbon tax - they desperately need the money. the budget is going to be a shell game trying to pretend that all the extra costs are 'investments' and 'necessary' etc etc. But they'll still go about 40 - 50 billion into deficit. I don't think they care at this point. They know that barring a huge misstep by PP they're toast next election and they're trying to spend what they can in the meantime and make it hard for PP to reduce the spending when he gets in.
