Army Guy Posted October 14 Report Posted October 14 30 minutes ago, User said: Amazing. Two months ago, this was going to be a huge cost to Ukraine. It was not going to change anything. It was just a temporary moral booster. It was short-lived, completely forgotten in a few months and a waste of time and lives. Now, here we are into the 3rd month of the Kursk invasion, and Russia has had to deploy 50,000 troops off their other fronts to barely start taking any land back from Ukraine. I stand by my comments made 2 months ago.... Do you know what it has cost ukraine ? no you don't not in your narrative....What has Ukraine gained by the Kursk operation? other than a short term moral boost? shit Russia did not take it to seriously since it took them 2 months to respond and during that time they took constant ground in other areas....And now i show you a map of Russian gains in the Kursk region and you blow them off...Top it all off even with the 50,000 deployed troops they are still taking ground in other regions....again brush that off ...And after seeing all of this NATO is still slow rolling it's support....i know you brushed that off as well... Videospirit Posted October 15 Report Posted October 15 34 minutes ago, Nationalist said: Some characterization? You mean like you calling me a coward? Do you realistically think Ukraine can win the land Russia has taken back? Mostly it comes down to war fatigue. Most Russians don't want this war to go on forever. Putin's grip on the country is pretty strong, but Putin isn't going to live forever. If the war still hasn't ended when it's time for someone to succeed Putin the war could just flat out end with Russia's withdrawal. That's the only way I see Ukraine getting their land back without another country joining the war. If Ukraine can keep up its will to fight that long it'll probably work too. Strategically, it will greatly weaken Russia and make the world a safer place, so I see no reason to discourage Ukraine from doing that if Ukraine is willing to make that sacrifice. It's the most likely route to a Ukraine victory that avoids world war 3 too. I am curious if Ukraine could actually win outright with full support from the armories of the west though, but I think Russia's too dug in at this point to be completely defeated without a significant manpower difference. Ukraine would almost certainly stop losing ground with more western support though. Quote

Plenty of people have an ignorant understanding of Russia's motives because western journalists toss around this idea that Putin is scared of NATO being on its border. NATO nations are unwilling to send formal military troops to battle. Your scenario seems highly unlikely. If Trump wins this election, he's claimed he can end this with a peace deal before being inaugurated. I'm not sure I believe that but, once in office he will have the power to do so. There is a peace summit to take place just after the US election. Russia will be involved this time. Peace in Ukraine for Christmas? Quote Its so lonely in m'saddle since m'horse died.

I don't merely call you a coward, I specifically explain how you are running away from something... as you are still doing now. Instead of discussing what I actually say, responding to the arguments, you are engaged in this dumb game. Yes, there are ways Ukraine can get land back, the issue is one of probabilities of outcomes. If Ukraine can keep taking more Russian land and hold it, they have something to trade. If they hold out long enough for Russia to give up on this invasion, they can push to gain land back. Ukraine has ALREADY made massive gains in taking land back from Russia on their initial invasion push, the one you keep ignoring to make your dishonest arguments. 4 hours ago, Nationalist said: While you "simp" for more war and death. You are the one justifying and defending this Russian invasion. YOU want more war and death. Those Ukrainian soldiers in Kursk are reportedly now losing ground and being surrounded. Sound familiar? Well...Russia did retreat from north of Kiev. That's true. They are also reportedly now making gains on the main eastern front. Lack of forces being cited as the reason. It appears that Ukraine is hoping this Kursk incursion was designed to give them a bargaining chip in negotiations. Yet we know from history how the Russians react to incursions. Does Ukraine have a chance to gain all its land back? I suppose there's always a chance...but it's a pretty slim chance. Out of 10...I'd give them a 1. How about you? Here we are , almost 3 months later, and it is taking Putin 50K troops he had to pull off the front lines to barely push back significantly less Ukrainian forces, that are also reportedly, stabilizing the lines after that initial push by Russia. I think it is 50/40/10 that Trump insist Ukraine accept some kind of crappy deal where they lose a lot of land already taken by Russia, but it would come with a more iron clad backing from us, possibly NATO membership... or, enough Republicans control the purse strings and Congress with Democrats to drive a continued support of them or that somehow someway Trump is so bold and threatening to Russia we go the full opposite direction and back Ukraine even more and force Russia to somehow take a shitty deal for them giving up much of the land they have taken. I figure he'll draw a line roughly where they are now and say, 'This is now Russian and this is Ukrainian. Any Russians in Ukraine can move to the Russian land and visa versa. This little war is over.' As for NATO, I doubt Trump has much support for it and would likely tell Europe to deal with their fears on their own. Quote Its so lonely in m'saddle since m'horse died.
