Do you really buy MERELY the WORD of an OPINION column from a guy at the Heartland Institute?

He didn't even offer actual DATA to prove his allegations, just some percentages unsubstantiated by source data.

Do you know ANYTHING about the Heartland Institute? They are NOT to be trusted, cause they are for sale.

His net worth relies on folks taking him seriously though. Why buy the books and merchandise if you view him to be an entertainer much the same as Lebron James or Taylor Swift. The first time I saw his show.. I thought to myself, "why would someone find some grown man yelling and screaming continuously to be must-see-tv". Apparently, there is a market/audience for this.

Well there is, and the more outrageous the more fun it is to listen to.  I still quote the 'turning frogs gay' line and i never even watch the dude :)

A lot of people have gotten quite rich been comedically serious or seriously comedic on the infotainment circuit. Jon Stewart for example - very very very much wants you to take him seriously but not seriously and when others point out that he's infotainment he says 'no no i'm just a COMEDY show,  don't get your news from me" and then he goes on to cover the news.

Infotainment is a bit of a new genre and it's a little weird - a strong mix of fact and absolute insane nonsense and mocking which most people know not to take seriously Now - as i said i don't listen and if he's been presenting himself wrong then so be it and he has to pay for that if he hurts someone's rep as a result, but infotainment IS a thing,

Do you have anything except denial?

"I don't like your source. It's icky."

You are not to be trusted. That's just the bottom line.

No go pee another pair of pants.

You prove again that MAGA means LIAR, because America is already great, and Biden is making America greater!

America is defending Ukraine!

America is defending Israel!

America is defending Taiwan!

America has the lowest sustained sub-4% unemployment ever!

America’s stock market is at its highest level in history.

I love my country and I won’t vote for a lying sleazy politician who says our nation isn’t great.

Who cares how a limp noodle like you votes?

Really...only the terminally impudent think Biden is anything more than a failure.

A limp noodle? Is that meant as a contrast to your Trump priapism?

What are you even talking about?

Heartland Institute

The Heartland Institute, according to the Institute's web site, is a nonprofit "think tank" that questions the reality and import of climate change, second-hand smoke health hazards, and a host of other issues that might seem to require government regulation. Heartland Institute is an "associate member" of the State Policy Network, a web of right-wing “think tanks” and tax-exempt organizations in 49 states, Puerto Rico, Washington, D.C., Canada, and the United Kingdom.

A July 2011 Nature editorial points out the group's lack of credibility:

"Despite criticizing climate scientists for being overconfident about their data, models and theories, the Heartland Institute proclaims a conspicuous confidence in single studies and grand interpretations....makes many bold assertions that are often questionable or misleading.... Many climate sceptics seem to review scientific data and studies not as scientists but as attorneys, magnifying doubts and treating incomplete explanations as falsehoods rather than signs of progress towards the truth. ... The Heartland Institute and its ilk are not trying to build a theory of anything. They have set the bar much lower, and are happy muddying the waters."[1]

An August 2014 Travis County Texas court ruling highlighted President and CEO Joseph Bast's lack of credibility and reliability:

"Mr. Joseph Bast, president and CEO of the Heartland Institute, testified for the Intervenors regarding the Texas Taxpayers’ Savings Grant Programs (“TTSGP”), a school voucher bill that failed in the 82nd Legislative Session. As a threshold matter, this Court finds that Mr. Bast is not a credible witness and that he did not offer reliable opinions in this matter. While Mr. Bast described himself as an economist, he holds neither undergraduate nor graduate degrees in economics, and the highest level of education he completed was high school. Mr. Bast testified that he is 100% committed to the long-term goal of getting government out of the business of educating its own voting citizens. Further, his use of inflammatory and irresponsible language regarding global warming, and his admission that the long term goal of his advocacy of vouchers is to dismantle the “socialist” public education system further undermine his credibility with this Court."[2]

Of course, we know you highly favor "lack of credibility" sources that confirm your bias, like FOS LIES. 🤮

Your inflation is at a historical high.
Your debt and deficit are vastly higher than ever before.

The stock market is up based on stimulation from the gov't alone. Thats a bubble waiting to burst.

There wouldn't BE a war in ukraine if biden wasn't seen as being so weak.

More illegal immigrants got across the border in 2023 than all of trump's years and it's getting worse.

Hey - love your country, it's a good country.  But don't lie to yourself that everything's rosy. Remember how good things looked RIiiiiiiight before the housing bubble burst.  (another democrat failure).

I draw a distinction between Jon Stewart and Alex Jones. The comedic aspect to the Daily Show is front and center. The outrageous names of the "correspondents" and their being mostly hapless clues you in on this. Alex Jones... he is completely serious all of the time. Maybe some find his ultra-serious, yelling, screaming, red in the face antics funny. I see this and think, "he wants you to take him serious". Furthermore.. when he claims to bring on so-called experts and these experts are stone cold serious.. I do not see the comedy.

And perhaps that's an issue.  Perhaps its a bit of Poe's law at play as well.  I have to say, i never once for a second thought they were really putting things in the water to make the frogs gay.  I know he's publicly stated he's a 'performance artist'.

Perhaps there should be a requirement to be more upfront about that -  "This show is intended as infotainment and not as an unbias or accurate source of news"

But then you could easily say the same thing about the vue.  And i'm sorry but Jon absolutely pushes real ideology and incorrect 'facts' in his shows, and then blows it off as comedy if challenged.  To me - its two sides of the same coin.

Ummm - no.

The law retained the old structure of seven individual income tax brackets, but in most cases, it lowered the rates. The top rate fell from 39.6% to 37%, while the 33% bracket dropped to 32%, the 28% bracket to 24%, the 25% bracket to 22%, and the 15% bracket to 12%. The lowest bracket remained at 10%, and the 35% bracket was also unchanged.3 The income bands that the new rates applied to are lower, compared to 2018 brackets under current law, for the five highest brackets.

He lowered taxes for everyone.  He lowered them MORE for the rich arguably but everyone got a tax break.

In addition the average wage went up sharply under trump. So the average person had more money not less.

Why don't you look this stuff up before you post?

Why? When I can get you to do it for me, and I can spend my obviously.much more valuable time researching other more important topics. 😏

That would definitely keep him from being sued yet again. Another thing that Alex Jones did (and I am not sure how) was give out the names and addresses of folks. These folks became the target of his rabid supporters. The View is purely a talk show where the politics is not the lead topic in most cases.

Translation -  "the skill behind a 3 second google search is beyond me"  :) LOL

Yeah -  i think we all knew you were a) too dumb to look it up and b) willing to lie about it instead :)  But - nice to prove it i guess :)  You have a good night now - drive careful on the internet, it's not safe for little guys like you :)

well that is way beyond not cool and if he did that then he should be made to pay a heavy price - even jail time
