Canada’s High Tax Burden Worsens

Recommended Posts

So on top of the outrageously high 17 cent per litre new carbon tax New Year’s gift from the Liberals, we are seeing a slew of tax hikes adding reasons for talented people who contribute much tax revenue to leave Canada.

The Federal Liberals and the woke communist identity politics activists need to go yesterday.

Trudeau's oblivious to any harm being caused. He's surrounded himself in an impenetrable thick blanket of climate change.

Nothings getting through.

Yup, the Laurentian bubble is a thing.  These people have no concept of the high cost of living and how much people are struggling.  To add such a massive tax burden on the public at this time should cause a massive tax revolt. Pretending that any of this will make a dent in climate change as a million migrants enter the country and Trudeau plans his next private jet clown show is Hunger Games level sadistic.

For all those that can't read past the headline and can't do math:

How much your income tax is going up in 2024:

None. Unless you made more money the rates are the same as now..

Your EI and CPP deductions will go up some. The payroll taxes go up too,. but you don't pat those, your employer does. IF your employer deducts those from your wages, shoot the money grubbing crook or join a union.

Carbon taxes go up Apr 1st. They do not go up 17c/L, that's what you pay now. They go from 65 to 80 bucks a ton, you'll pay an extra 3 or 4 cents. That you will not even notice as the Oil companies will boost prices just before the tax comes in and then more than that when it does. They'll gouge you at least a dime for their own pockets.

The "Canadian Taxpayers" group doesn't give a flying f*ck about YOU, they bought and p[aid for by employers and industry. They like every other group desiring to suck you in just call themselves a phoney name.

Like the man said: You can fool some of the people ALL of the time.

Yeah they don’t like regular Canadians or Canada.

Not true - they care about them a lot, just like many slave owners cared about their livestock back in the day.   like most beasts of burden they make sure we have water at least.  (well not the first nations but..)

Dion actually slipped up one time talking about alberta when he was asked about new federal taxes and green policy and he said "Obviously we don't want to KILL the cash cow...."   that's how they see people.

Thats bullshit...EI and CPP deductions are split between employer and employee...unless your self employed then you pay the whole shot...and since it is a deduction going to the federal government it is a tax, your employer may be deducting it from your pay, but they are not pocketed the money the feds are..........so yes you taxes are going up...but so will your benefits in 40 years when you go to collect

Carbon taxes as you said are up another 3 or 4 cents...they are a tax so yes taxes are going up...

@herbie,  who doesn't vote liberal, honest, but would if Mike Chong was leader,  is just running interference for the libs again.

Of course taxes are going up. And at a time when Canadians can least afford it. And the taxes that are going up are ones that will severely impact the lowest earners.  Fuel and carbon taxes disproportionately hurt the poor.  More payroll tax hurts the low to middle class the hardest by far.  These are the people mr trudeau likes to pick on these days because his rich friends have told him any more of this "tax the rich till they're poor' nonsense and they'll pull ALL their investments out of Canada.

FFS  Ei&CPP are not 'income tax' they're specific deductions for specific purposes and both have a top amount. That's it for payroll taxes that affect you. Actual payroll taxes your employer pays (on top of CPP/EI) are not docked off your cheque.
Multiple headlines from multiple outlets lying about 'income tax' and then misleading people that two things are really three increases.

Yeah you'll pay a little more but do tell us when you ever paid less in a new year.

How are you this stupid and able to get your shoes on in the morning?

Payroll taxes are income taxes - they are taxes on your income. If you don't earn income, you don't pay them. Compare that to GST for example which is a consumption tax, or the tax you pay for your real estate which is property tax, neither of which require you to earn an income before you must pay them.

Some payroll taxes require the employer to match your donations in whole or in part.

So your attempt to somehow claim that there's no taxes and no 'income' tax is pathetic.

Speaking of income -do the libs pay you to try to shill this hard for them?

The libs are raising taxes next  year.  We get that you want to distract from that as much as possible but there you go.
