America Divided - I'm right, you're wrong

What is sad about American politics is that no matter how great your ideas... you will lose unless you have a terrible case of verbal diarrhea. You need to be brash, unfiltered, and made big, bold claims and if you have nothing to back them up.. so be it.

American voters believe that the primary purpose of the gov't is not good governance, but to provide specticle for their enjoyment.  Good governance is after that

Reminds me of the Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy - where we learn that the real job of the galactic president is to distract the people from thinking about those who are REALLY in power.

Until humility comes, all the rest of the virtues, ring false.

I am right, nor wrong.  All I have is the best I have been able to do, so far.  Tomorrow, I hope to do better.

When I choose a humble position (right, nor wrong - still learning) there is at least a chance I can do better, tomorrow.  When I choose to believe I am right, there is not.

Is this really a bargain, in which you would like to participate; trading your progress for a bag of candy, for your ego?

And it is no wonder that we get such a great crop of politicians. Biden vs. Trump again... this is like saying that we have a choice between A moldy pastrami sandwich served with a side of dog s__t or rotten maggot-infested raw chicken with a side of moldy horseradish. This is why I tend to focus not on the politicians but the people/groups that vote them in. It says more about them than it does the politician.
