Exactly, religion. I call it Thunbergism.

Namely, the self-loathing, self cutting, and having social and food issues. So they become estranged and not reproduce.

Not live too long.

Now switch to the scene in Montreal, 500,000 screaming supporters in the streets.

Next scene- an young man in hospital gives consent to undergo MAID.

We are become a death cult.

We knew society would go crazy like this when we experimented with rats in overcrowded cages. The stress produces odd often self-destructive social behaviour.

We haven't seen anything yet.

The politicians were also listening to you guys tell everyone the economy would be destroyed if they listened to the experts and they kept fiddling.

This is what you guys wanted. No action, no resources, no experts.

Why are you whining now?

As a Canadian I have always stood on guard for her. At least in principle.

We peasants can't do much. I sort out my recycling, for example, fully cognizant and aware that 90% of it will go in the landfill anyway. It's my contribution to environ-mentalism. ;)

So there’s not a consensus among scientists regarding the theory of evolution?

I suppose next you’ll say “it’s only a theory”.

A while ago the consensus among scientists was the earth is flat, those who disagreed were branded as heretics. Or was that just a theory?

WTF are you babbling about.

You and your take a rake and garbage bags and clean up the forests co0mments are absurd, has nothing to do with climate change.

When you give your head a shake and realize how stupid you sound, then come back with some real discussion points.

Yes of course. Unfortunately all you're doing is confirming my conclusion.

You worship death and suffering at the alter of climate change.

In principle you've probably believed that when you're resisting climate action you are guarding Canada.

We're all acting on what we believe or think but how principled is the basis for what we believe? Sticking our fingers in our ears and singing la la la in the face of overwhelming scientific consensus and evidence doesn't seem very principled to me.

More does need to be done to mitigate risk around built up areas but the Westbank fire jumped a 4km wide lake. You can't mitigate that.

We can't mitigate everything but we can greatly reduce the risk.

Unless you wish to watch as many burnt offerings to the climate change religion.

Yes you should now. You guys are dreaming if think adapting to climate change can be done on the cheap.

Oh I think you like this tax frenzy. It's obvious you'd like even more crushing taxes and destruction.

Tell me...how many people must be sacrificed at the alter of climate, before your new Gawd is appeased?

Even if one is not religious,  which fabled character does this all sound like?

ALL of them.  Then when society begins to collapse and nobody can afford to buy food and it takes a wheelbarrow full of dollars to buy a loaf of bread, then his kind will step in and say "Look brothers!  We will take over and control every aspect of your life and the market and we will all work for the greater glory of our society's goals rather than personal ones! (oh and we get to set the goals).

Let us bask in the greatness of our glorious socialistic utopia!!

There is more that can be done, and government needs to be put to that task. I'm assuming you're no fire expert, so your dismisal of certain proposed ideas is also useless and unimportant as anyone else. So, maybe you should dial it down a bit?

I've heard that real forestry experts have been calling for more resources and action to better prepare for it but not much action from politicians of course. Literally waiting until the house is on fire. Then fiddle while it burns.

Then they tell you guys the sky is falling, and of course, you go for it.

Time to get off your pedestal before you look more foolish than you already do.  :)

LOL  yes it does.

But it's actually their real game plan.  Which is what has got the moderate or blue left so concerned. There was a time when being "left wing" meant yes to free speech and rights, and the promotion of a reasonable safety net and some social programs mostly to help make sure everyone had a reasonable chance at a good life and didn't get left behind,

Now unless you're willing to kill all non-servile wihte males and agree to trillions in reperations to people who were never slaves you're an evil right winger and excluded from the discussion.

The far left wants to tear down the current institutions and replace them with institutions of their choosing. But you can't do that if people love their institutions so job one is make everyone suffer and be miserable and blame those institutions for it.

"Only then will people agree to abandon their beloved institutions and replace them with ours, and our plan will be COM-PLETE!"

Do I believe in climate change? Yes.

Do I believe climate  change is to blame for all the fires?  No

Well, anything that is traditionally a source of pride for the people of their country really. They want people to blame "canada" or "america" for all their ills -  It's John A's fault there's a residential school system (untrue), it's the police's fault that black people commit more crimes per capita (also untrue), it's our political leader's fault that there's hunger and that people can't come here whenever they want from other countries etc (kind of sort of true but not the way they mean it).

If Canada didn't exist - your life would be better!  So - what we should do is get rid of Canada as we know it and create a brand new super terrific mega-happy (socialist) Canada!  Where we still have a "free" market but it's rigidly controlled along with our society and everything is directed in such a way to benefit society's interests and goals!  And we'll all work together for this!

Of course - some people won't fit in and we'll have to get rid of them - but as long as people believe what we tell them to they'll be fine!
