If you have probable cause, you can even force your opponent to turn over facts; it’s called “discovery.” Donald Trump said the election was rigged. Fine! All he had to do was bring his facts with him to a judge. The judge could have ordered a recount or even a new election. But after 80 lawsuits, no evidence of fraud was presented. Not one precinct in the nation overturned their results in Trump’s favor. Trump supporters don’t believe in facts. They don’t accept reality. Because the fact is, Trump lost his election. Now, prosecutors are telling judges that Trump broke criminal law. How will they do this? They will bring FACTS and the LAW. Why are Trumpers afraid of this? Two things can be true at the same time - hillary broke the law and arguably should have gone to jail. But they don't do that in teh states with presidential hopefuls and for a strong reason. Trump broke the law if the allegations are true and they seem to have a fair bit of weight to them. We'll see how stands up in court but they're real and serious charges, not like that bullcrap up in new york earlier. But it's also true that there's a double standard there. Hillary broke the law in a VERY similar way to trump WITHOUT the benefit of having been president. So - she got off based on the long standing tradition of not prosecuting a presidential hopeful. If we compare the cases: 1) Biden voluntarily performed his own search and voluntarily returned the documents. 2) Trump was asked to return the documents and refused. 3) Trump was then ORDERED by subpoena to return the documents and he returned over 100 documents with classified markings. NO CHARGES FILED pertaining to these records. 4) Trump lied to his own lawyers in hiding and retaining about half of his classified documents, which were found via search warrant. These are the documents he has been charged for. In arguing that Biden should be charged, you’re saying the charges against Trump should be doubled.
