That's the inevitable conclusion of capitalism. When we allow a small minority to have an overwhelming amount of power, they use that power to grant themselves more power.

Some capitalists will say that the real problem is "crony capitalism," but capitalism literally always becomes crony capitalism.

Nobody makes it on their own. We're all born into a set of circumstances, we all live in a society, we all get help. Capitalism is better than feudalism, but it's still a system that rigs the game based on birth. If you're born into wealth, you're going to have infinitely more help than someone born into poverty. And while people born into poverty do get some level of help, they also get hinderances that rich people don't get. The private prison industry, which is like peak capitalism, keeps people poor.

It's the inevitable conclusion of socialism and communistic models as well.  Check out russia - putin isn't poor and none of the soviet leaders including stalin ever missed a meal.  Or china, or venezuela or cuba etc etc etc.

The difference is - it's almost impossible to get rich under capitalism without making others around you rich. Gates, jobs, bezos, all of them made many many many millionares as they grew in wealth and those millionares spent money helping provide good jobs etc.

Everyone gets a little richer.

Where as with YOUR model the rich at the top only get rich by making everyone else poor. The more socalistic you get, the more people like you run the show, the poorer the population is. The people at the top skim the cream and there's nothing left.

Thats why the richest countries in the world are capitalist and the poorest are always socialistic.

It's not, but like I said, both parties will use race and racism as a distraction from the failures of capitalism. And that leads to racial tensions.

So for example, Democrats will say that the racial wealth gap is because of white supremacy. Republicans will say black people are lazy and self-entitled.

El faceplant. LMAO.

1) The Dems aren't trying to distract anyone from "the failures of capitalism". The Dems are trying to consolidate wealth and power for the Dems, and they use racial division to get votes.

Remember, the Dems try to convince poor people "We're on your side! We're letting in millions of illegal immigrants every year!", and the poor people don't realize that those illegal immigrants will be driving up the cost of low-income housing while simultaneously driving down wages. I'm pretty sure that you don't understand that either.

2) Republicans aren't trying to distract anyone from "the failures of capitalism", and they don't say "Black people are lazy and entitled" either. That's just another of your lies.

At worst for the GOP, they and Dems are doing a balancing act with each other, trying to keep those two parties on top, and they're doing it by playing the American people against each other; the theory being that if they can keep people polarized enough then people will be very passionate about voting for one side or the other, instead of just taking a breath and looking for a better solution.

So, instead of "solving" their border issues, they're keeping the border (abortion, etc) as a wedge issue. It keeps Americans in the dark and fighting. Then, if the wealthy people supporting BOTH parties need more cheap labour to compete with China, the Dems do their "OPEN BORDER" thing. All they have to do is make big promises about getting rid of ICE, talk about how safe the sanctuary cities will be for illegal immigrants, how much stuff they'll give away, etc, and millions will flock to the border.

The Dems will do a victory lap: "We're so great! Look at all of these people [working poverty wages/living in slums] living the American dream thanks to us!"

Once they have enough cheap labour and the influx of immigrants isn't all that beneficial for America's wealthiest people, the GOP closed-border policies will become more popular and they'll clamp down at the border.

The GOP will say: "Look at these shiny new border walls...! Way less drugs and criminals are pouring across. Homelessness and crime are getting back under control. Wages and the cost of housing are stabilizing!"

I'm pretty sure that they could come up with a solution, they just don't want to.

TBH I'm not sure if the two are doing a balancing act and the Dems are just playing the role of evil and manipulative, or if they remain diametrically opposed to each other even behind closed doors, but the dems are overtly evil and manipulative either way.

If we truly want the American political system to work properly we need to embrace moderation. Not liberal, not conservative, but compromise middle of the road solutions, particularly when it comes to the budget but also in social issues.

You clearly have no idea how capitalism works.

The idea that people can control their own financial outcome by creating their own companies is the exact opposite of giving power to a small minority.

If you want to have power and control when you run the gov't you don't let people do their own thing, you tell everyone where to go and what to do. That's pretty basic, right?

"Here's the factory. My cousin runs it. Go work there and we'll provide you with shelter and food. The profits will be fairly divided by us [? among us ?]."

In that place that you dream of, merit is a 4-letter word. Loyalty to the party is all that matters. People who are loyal enough to the Dems are obviously the best choice to run everything, right? Everyone else is evil.

@impartialobserver So again, you want to talk about me, and how you feel about my posts, but you can't engage in a discussion of "how well the vaccines are working here".

You can't look at that timeline of weekly vax deaths and say: "The vax rollout was here, look how deaths plummeted afterwards", because there was no reduction of deaths at that point. The reduction of deaths would have been obvious if a real vaccine came out, like back when the TB, smallpox or polio vaccines came out, because the chart would go from lots of deaths to very few deaths.

The weekly death toll actually went from "a lot of deaths in 2021" to "30% more deaths" in 2022. Yay?!?!?

Those early death tolls don't say "Young, healthy people need the vax." They say young people are doing fine.

The only good reason to say "force them to vax" would be if the vax was shown to reduce the spread, but Israeli ICUs put an end to the "reduced spread" theory long before we got a chance to vax young people.

Before children were vaxing, almost no kids were dying of covid. After they started vaxing (Nov 2021), kids were dying over 5x as fast.

If you really are a stats guy, as you claim to be, then you'd find it almost impossible to just completely ignore the covid death stats for an entire country when they're right there in front of you. A lot of stats are dreadfully boring, but "Was fascism in a western democracy justified?" stats are fairly rare, and therefor quite interesting to most people. I know I'd look if you posted something as interesting.

For the umpteenth time.. I do not care about the topic, do not have your passion for it, and as a result do not have the knowledge. I am not sure if I can lay it out more directly and succinctly. I am a numbers guy who swims in it all day and yet covid deaths and such never come up. Do you want to know what numbers I look at? Employment, unemployment, wages, number of firms, number of establishments, taxable wages, contributions to unemployment insurance. Lots of data that does not involve covid.

That's a copout. You want to say that you can't really talk about covid because you feel like I'm a bully who won't listen to reason and that's not a thing at all.

I gave the resident vaxtards here every opportunity to explain why they feel like vaxing kids is necessary. Why forcing young, healthy people to vax was necessary.

They can't even address the topics. They go ad hominem, instantly.

It's because I have a plethora of stats from the largest sample size possible in this country (the stats for our whole country over several years) and they have nothing but talking points from the same people who already got caught lying about everything covid/vax-related multiple times.

No one has ever produced a chart, graph, report or anything else from the real world showing that vaxing slows the spread of covid. They also can't show anything that says "unvaxed young healthy people die", or "unvaxed healthy kids die". They have nothing. So why take the risk of vaxing them? Why force them?

I cleared all of my hurdles. I showed conclusive evidence, in the form of our entire country's stats over years of covid, that the vax doesn't slow the spread and that healthy people don't die. I'm miles over those hurdles.

The only reason that it seems like I'm omniscient is that I'm throwing down multiple stats that are 100% on point and calling people out to discuss relevant facts directly, while the resident vax-fascists have no recourse but to mouth off like little chumps. My Jack Russell looks omniscient next to these a-holes.

How would you set about proving that kids and healthy young adults should take it?

1) You'd find evidence that covid kills them. But it doesn't exist. Almost no kids in Canada died between the beginning of covid and one month after they started vaxing, in Dec 2021 - two years later. Deaths among children spiked after that.

2) You'd find evidence that they won't spread covid if they're vaxed. They actually could have lied about that and we'd never know, but in order to pretend that the vax is working, its apologists have to say that the reason that deaths are up is because there are actually way more infections.  And "way more infections" means that the spread hasn't even slowed after we vaxed 80% of our pop.

You could try to make the case that "we didn't know better back then" but we did . Israeli ICU data was out long before we got to the point where we could start vaxing young people, and we all know that if mass amounts of people are getting sick enough to end up in ICU, they're infectious.

You're a stats guy. A "data miner".

Find the evidence that the vax works, kids should take it, and forcing young people to vax was reasonable.

I'll get you started...

China is not rich and not very powerfull. Their per capita GDP is about 12,500 per person. That's tiny.  The us's for example is 70,250. That's gdp, not stagnant wealth.

China builds war ships faster than Trudeau commits scandals. Maybe twice as fast.

They made about 83 warships between 2016 and 2019 iirc. Not just destroyers either: subs, aircraft carriers, guided missile cruisers, etc. And the destroyers they made are actually beasts, with over 100 vertical-launch missile cells on them.

I'll grant you that Chinese military personnel absolutely lack America's battle experience, which might be a huge advantage for the US, but it's hard to imagine what a modern naval battle might look like. It's all so tech-based that experience in the field might not get a chance to count. The Chinese hypersonic missiles can theoretically go all the way to Hawaii.

If there's a war with China, the speed at which ships are sunk could make Guadalcanal look like a tempest in a teapot.

First off - nothing happens faster than trudeau commits scandals - trudeau is like the speed of light of scandals, nothing can go faster.

Second off sure they're increasing the size of their navy. But in realistic terms they're not nearly powerful enough to make much of a difference yet. China vs the us ends one way.

Not exactly. The registerd the completion of that many but the numbers aren't quite what they look like.

The chinese navy is nothing to sneeze at but it will be quite some time before it could actually be a serious contender for 'biggest navy'. At least in tonnage.

The chinese tech is just not at the same level and their people are not as well versed on it. I'm sure they'd make a good showing.  But in the end they'd lose a prolonged naval confrontation.

I think you'd find that at the end of the day, the chinese would still come up short. They wouldn't be hte first asian power that thought they had the upper hand :) The chinese may have more ships, but the us ships are much bigger, much more multi-role capable and at the end of the day nothing beats carriers. And the us are masters of carriers.

The us navy is still currently twice the tonange of the Chinese . It would not be a fair fight just yet

It has a much higher standard of living as countries that are closer to socialism. As a rule, the closer to socialism the lower the standards of living.

And that's just a simple fact. Capitalism has pulled more people out of poverty than any other model out there. Countries that rely on capitalist models have better health, better food security, better military security, are more stable, etc etc.

There is some benefit depending on your point of view of having some social safety net. Straight Capitalism and true meritocracies tend to leave behind a small part of the population who simply aren't fit to earn their spot. Caring for those people can be seen to be a 'value' and something that a country provides for, but that's not really socialism ipso facto.

2 minutes ago, Americana Antifa said:

Socialism involves taxing the rich to provide everyone with free essential services, and having the workers control the means of production through democracy.

And that model is always a failure. Why would anyone stick around a country like that to get rich if someone's just going to take it.

Instead, what most successful countries do is say everyone pays their fair share of taxes, and while the wealthy wind up paying more the burden isn't on them entirely at all.  Where it makes sense and keeps costs low the gov't may provide a single source for services such as health, or a standing military, or education or police and passport services etc.

2 minutes ago, Americana Antifa said:

Whenever you centralize power and try to centralize money inevitably the people who control that money are no different than rich people who have amassed a fortune independently.  Except they're ALREADY in a position of absolute power, they don't need to 'buy' it or corrupt the system to get power, it's baked right in.

So you get corruption, and we see t again and again and again. And they've already got their hands on the people's money.

THe problem is that when Bill Gates becomes a super rich person, it's because he actually created something. He created the wealth by building a product, building a company, tonnes of people would get rich helping  to build his company, thousands would get employed by the company -  there's real wealth being generated.

When the socialist in charge gets rich - nothing is created.  They just leech  off the people .

Thats why over time socialist countries have a lower standard of living and are poorer countries. The only way ambitious people can get wealthy is to leech from others. Creating something doesn't do you any good because someone just takes it.

It does, you just can't do math because you're leftarded.

The only reason there was a rush at the US border when Trump was president is because the Dems were promising illegal immigrants free stuff behind his back. He turned most of them back.

The only difference in the parties is rhetoric and cruelty. The Republicans use racist rhetoric and have performative cruelty, like the family separation policy. Whereas the Democrats are more humane and don't say racist crap. But other than that, the parties are the same on immigration.

Like Trump's kid cages, right? (The ones that he inherited from the Obama gov't ? )

FYI the GOP aren't cruel at all. Now you're just being an 1d10t.

It's not a conspiracy theory. Lee Atwater admitted this is what they do.

This is why when Tucker Carlson talks about the Great Replacement, he doesn't say "brown people are being brought in by the Jews to replace white people." Instead, he'll say "foreigners are being brought in by George Soros to replace the original stock."

El faceplant.
