A cop pulls over a BMW being driven by a young black guy. Last week, one of his colleagues was shot dead in the exact same situation. 

Is the cop justified in being more than a little cautious and suspicious?

Unfortunately...black people perpetrate a huge percentage of crime. This is a problem which the author in the OP tries to explain.

Did I actually say what happened to your crack dealing friends was an isolated incident? Blacks are pulled over every day for traffic violations. Whites are pulled over every day for traffic violations. Asians are pulled over every day for traffic violations. Gee. Cops seem to have this thing about wanting to keep the streets safe.

I don't think cops would pull these guys over for drug purposes.

Then again, you can never tell about cops. Maybe they see things that look suspicious, like that wonderful crowd you hang with.

You, unsurprisingly, missed my point. I was in the car with my black friends but, being white, I was left to sit on the curb whilst they were frisked and harassed. You stated that white privilege doesn't exist but clearly, in this instance, my lilly white ass wasn't seen as a threat as opposed to my black friends, thus I wasn't harassed. You have a very bad habit of parroting MAGA talking points and digging in as if your making valid statements. Then, you have the unmitigated audacity to disregard empirical evidence as "biased" because it doesn't support your bias. How convenient that must be for you when you just label everything you disagree with as "fake". That's what your boy Donald does. Well, I see your point. A multitude of viable studies have shown that because of their socioeconomic issues, more African Americans are drawn into crime. But, because of this known issue, blacks .... Correction...lower and middle class blacks, are definitely targeted by police which has led to a disproportionate number of unarmed African Americans being killed by police for minor crimes or just being on the street. Y'all love to deny there's a problem, but truthfully, y'all MAGA are not known for being sensitive to the needs of society as a whole.

When posed with questions like this I like to jest by falling back on an old school reference (that's your not going to get unless your old like me) that I feel applies...  Whatever happened to Reed and Malloy?  ... what I mean by that is, aside from the fact that Reed and Malloy we're TV cops....whatever happened to the belief that cops just did their jobs without allowing all their personal bias and testosterone to take the wheel?
