I think the first debate is scheduled for September 29th.  I’m sure the Biden team will come up with some kind of excuse to not attend.

Biden all alone with Trump...an ideal time to take him 'behind the school gym' and 'beat the Hell out of him'...you'd think.

I could understand if there was some strict party-hierarchy and now it's Biden's turn to run for President.

However, there's no such thing. Instead Biden won the primaries of the party. Just think about it; The Democrat voters view this guy the best they've got.

I think somebody like Andrew Yang or Tulsi Gabbard or the nobody whose name nobody could pronounce correctly would all have been better options.

Yeah, that's bad. On the other hand, the Republicans chose Donald Trump.

The biggest issue in this election has now pivoted from the Virus to if Trump and McConnell commit one of the worst moments of hypocrisy imaginable.

If they ram through a nominee in under 50 days when they wouldn't allow a vote for Obama's nominee in 2016, a huge political price will be paid.

Why would you think so? They haven't paid any political price for anything they've done so far. Their supporters will follow them into anything. If Donald Trump appointed Vladimir Putin's son as his vice president the Republican Party would clap and cheer and vote to confirm.

They snuck through an EC win by the skin of their teeth.

People here pretend it was some resounding victory.

There's a reason this law hasn't been overturned, the political appetite hasn't been there.

McConnell may not even have the votes. Many Repubs must realize their fate will be sealed if they allow this.

The Republicans in the Senate would vote for Satan if McConnell and Trump told them to. There isn't a spine or a set of balls among them.

Then a political price may be paid.

Plenty of Senators don't have safe seats.

The hypocrisy was first committed by Democrats who argued against Republicans appointing a Supreme Court Justice before an election in the late 80s.  They then flipped that opinion in 2016 when Obama was president.  So there’s hypocrisy on both sides.

Btw, to the dunce of the forum.  The electoral college isn’t a law, it’s part of the constitution.  The constitution would need to be ratified by two thirds of the states in order to amend it.  As usual you don’t know what the hell youre talking about, hence why I ignore you.  Also, Democrats first denied a Supreme Court appointment by a Republican president close to an election in the late 80s and then flipped on that precedent for Obama in 2016.  But I guess that hypocrisy doesn’t matter.  Stop lying.

270 electoral votes are required to win. Trump got 304. That's a convincing win.

Also there's no hypocrisy in McConnell's position. He has " said that when one party controls the Senate but the other party controls the White House, nominees should wait until afterward."

That isn't the situation this time.

Also Obama offered his supreme court choice justice choice. Biden won't do it. The suspicion is he wants an activist judge the people would never vote for.

This voids the Democrats argument that the people need the option to choose.

Also the people did choose when they voted in a Republican senate in 2016 and expanded that majority in the mid terms.

I'm kind of shocked that they are talking about putting in a new SCJ myself, but in all fairness, the Demmies are talking about expanding the SC if they get elected which is even more bogus.

Soon, every time the US has a new Prez with control of the Senate, they will just add more and more judges. 7, 21, 42, 84.......

Really Argus?

So what specific thing that the GOP did or what changes has Trump made, what things has Trump done that irk you so much?

There's a laundry-list of things wrong with the Demonrats. They call for the harassment of government officials, they support BLM and Antifa, they support violent rioting/arson/looting and attacks on police, they support every voter-fraud-friendly reform known to man, they let Russians run rampant in Europe and did nothing, they blame terrorist attacks with vans on guns, they let Islamic State grow to the size of a large country and then pretended that they couldn't stop them for 5 years, they blame terrorist attacks with AK-47s on gun laws and AK-47s have always been illegal, they support blatant anti-Semitism and then when there's an attack on Jews they blame Trump, their nominee got caught cheating twice in the 2016 election and they act like Trump was the cheater, they are the biggest misogynist/hypocrites on the planet "all bitches want it from Bill Clinton", they lie about global warming, they lie about covid, they lied about Kavanaugh, they lied about russian collusion.....

You want to talk about a bunch of sewer rats with absolutely no redeeming qualities it's the Dems.

You've been drinking stupidity straight from CBC's firehose Argus.

If Trump loses it doesn't mean that people would support BLM or antifa. Quite on the contrary, he would lose because he hasn't done more to stop the mayhem.

Which kind of brings me to my other point that I guess that even many Americans don't know exactly how their political system works. The worst riots have happened in Democrat-controlled states and the the threshold for any federal intervention is very high.

I don't understand.

In the first paragraph you seem to be saying Trump should have done more.

In the second paragraph you seem to be saying he couldn't. The duty fell first on the state when it wasn't municipal.

Are you saying that's the point? Americans are getting bad information drawing them to conflicting and incorrect conclusions.

It was a resounding victory...one of the biggest upsets in U.S. political history.   It still drives Democrats and like minded sycophants in Canada nuts, because their little echo chambers said it could/would never happen.

Democrats should’ve listened.

On Global today they mentioned that 4 yrs ago McConnell wouldn’t let Obama pick a SCJ in an election year.
They apparently didn’t know that the Dems did it first.
They need to hire you as a fact checker.

Yes, nobody seems to know any history pre-Trump.  Probably on purpose.

Oh the hypocrisy!

He’s not technically wrong.  But it was referred to as the Biden rule.  They decided in 2016 it no longer applied.  But Republicans are hypocrites!?

Here's the amusing and ironic aspect of the Republicans' frantic, desperate attempt to stack the Supreme Court so they can ban abortions: Black women have abortions in very disproportionate numbers. So if the Republicans were to succeed in banning abortions the result would be - more black people!

Meanwhile, the Republicans are desperately, frantically trying to throw barriers in the way of Black people voting because they tend to vote Democrat.
