Dougie93 Posted February 13, 2019 Report Posted February 13, 2019 Jack Hughes first overall. Alex Turcotte tenth overall.
Dougie93 Posted February 13, 2019 Report Posted February 13, 2019 Thing is, the Avs didn't actually play bad, they were out shooting the Loafs two to one, Steddie Freddie just had a good night.

Yeah Freddie held the Leafs in it until the PP sleeping giant finally awoke, and that was the game.
Dougie93 Posted February 13, 2019 Report Posted February 13, 2019 (edited) Leafs had the razzle dazzle going, hard to beat them when they move the puck like that, neither Varlamov nor Grubauer had much of a chance on those power play goals, Nanny State Warriors in action, tic-tac-toe. Dougie93 Posted February 13, 2019 Report Posted February 13, 2019 At this point the Avs biggest miss is taking Makar ahead of Pettersson, Makar is going to have to turn out to be one heck of a player for that not to be a big time miss.

Yeah Makar better be the s**t, or the Avs f***ed up real bad on that one. Edited February 13, 2019 by Yzermandius19

Dougie93 Posted February 15, 2019 Report Posted February 15, 2019 Bolts rinsing the Stars, 6-0, the Sunshine State Warriors juggernaut just keeps rolling along. <dreads>
Dougie93 Posted February 15, 2019 Report Posted February 15, 2019 Leafs second powerplay unit clicking now, Nylander to Gardiner to Johnsson, high tip. 1-0 Buds. Andreas Johnsson 5 goals in the last 6 games.
Dougie93 Posted February 15, 2019 Report Posted February 15, 2019 Nylander is flying, playing keep away on the second unit, the only thing keeping VGK from getting blown out here is Marc-Andre Fleury.
Dougie93 Posted February 15, 2019 Report Posted February 15, 2019 First power play QB'd by Marner is sloppy and lackadaisical, second power play QB'd by Nylander is the hot hand right now.
Dougie93 Posted February 15, 2019 Report Posted February 15, 2019 Frederick Anderpsen over handling the puck again. Twice he turns it over on the power play to the forechecker, second time he gets burned short handed. Typical Fathead.
Dougie93 Posted February 15, 2019 Report Posted February 15, 2019 Shitbird Andersen has completely shifted the momentum of the game, first he causes a shorthanded against, then he lets another muffin in right after. I hate goaltenders.
Dougie93 Posted February 15, 2019 Report Posted February 15, 2019 Auston Matthews 100th career goal to the rescue, let's go baby!
Dougie93 Posted February 15, 2019 Report Posted February 15, 2019 Auston Matthews power play goal, let's go baybee! 3-2 Loafs.

Even if he gets hurt for half the year, every year, from here on out, the scoring that he does when he's healthy will be worth the price tag, especially if he's healthy when it matters, in the playoffs. Not too many players in the league that you could say that about either. Edited February 15, 2019 by Yzermandius19
Dougie93 Posted February 15, 2019 Report Posted February 15, 2019 Problem is he gets rocked in the playoffs too, Matthews is sort of oblivious to incoming contact, there's just not the same kind of hitting in the USHL Even Nylander is a master of getting out of the trolly tracks, and Marner is like spiderman, while Matthews' kryptonite is lollygagging into the blindside.
Dougie93 Posted February 15, 2019 Report Posted February 15, 2019 Matthews has been defending himself more of late, putting the elbow up a bit, but he needs to learn from Malkin; chop them first before they chop you.
Dougie93 Posted February 15, 2019 Report Posted February 15, 2019 Elias Pettersson scores his 26th goal of the season, tied with Matthews.
Dougie93 Posted February 15, 2019 Report Posted February 15, 2019 That's actually better than Matthews rookie season pace, Matthews had 40 in 82, Pettersson on pace for 38 in 71.
Dougie93 Posted February 15, 2019 Report Posted February 15, 2019 Andersen too far out, leaves the back door open for another muffin. Story of this game so far, their goalie is better than our goalie.
