Ford had stopped his supporters from booing (when he mentioned the two parties) during his victory speech.  He was gracious even in his victory -  to say that for all their differences, they're all sharing the same vision of wanting the best for Ontario.

 

Yes, it's  Horvath who turned out to be divisive.....boy, another good thing she didn't win!

You think Conservative parties in other provinces aren't watching and analysing what made  Ford win........despite having had a short time to prepare for the election, and despite the smears and family scandal?

 

Depending on how Ford governs - it would be an influence in the coming Federal election.   If Ford does well as a Premier, boy.......

........you might see an ocean of blue 18 months from now.

1) If you say they're always important then you are saying nothing about one election relative to another.  And you didn't explain why this one is important.  Every election seems important at the time.

2) You can't just become Ford Nation.  They have been grooming that brand for years and Sheer can't really just become populist.

3) Yes but Canada is not Ontario either.  There are a lot more issues to be concerned about, there are regions and so on.

What is your concern about her?

It's amazing they've made it as far as they did, given some of the ideas coming out from some members of the NDP. But voters barely know what they're voting for, in many cases. For some, a 30-second sound byte, a bit of hear-say and a cute poster shot is all they need to decide. I guess that about sums it up anyway.

I suspect a certain number of those who jumped ship from Liberal to NDP had no idea what they were buying into, just as those who voted for Ford had no idea what he is going to do as Premier.

I hate to say it, but enough of politics for a while. There is only so much a person can take. This was an election over anger, but i'm tired of being angry. Politics just gets us at each others throats. We need to focus on good news for a change. I want to celebrate some things that unite us.

With Horwath being the premier of Ontario that would have been more than just a liability for Ontario. It would have turned out to be a bloody communist disaster for Ontario. She was ready to make Ontario a sanctuary province. Trudeau must have been her pro illegal criminal refugee idle and hero and she was probably ready to take in all the Trudeau illegal criminals that she could get her grubby hands on from Trudeau. With the liberals and socialists running this country it is no wonder that Canada and Canadians have an immigration problem. One can only hope that if Andrew Scheer becomes the PM of Canada he will do something about our immigration mess and policy.

Why don't the liberals keep to their progressive traditions, like maybe volunteer at a homeless shelter, instead of trying to pass multiple gender pronoun laws? Did you ever hear Andrea Horwath once say she had a plan for the homeless? All she did was Bash Doug ford, and threaten to hold him accountable. I would have more respect for liberals, if they actually focused on helping the marginalized, instead of force feed a bunch of identity politics down our throats. They like to talk, but where are their actions? Where is the fruits of their good ideas?

I just cannot help myself but to say that all those fools standing there behind her have to be the most totally clueless stunned Canadians around. Why would anyone want to vote to have a socialist/communist government in power in Ontario? They all look like your typical losers and thank gawd that those fools did not get to see their socialist leader take the reins of power in Ontario. No doubt they all believe in and wanted more government, more taxes, and less freedom and smile and clap about it. Those people behind her are the ones that I blame for why Canada is in the mess that it is today. They are totally clueless looking as to what and how and who is destroying this once great nation. The guy on the right just looks like he just moved to Ontario from hillbilly Arkansas. Chuckle-chuckle.

I was more worked up, about a mother who failed to raise her kid. That made me more angry than a politician with stupid ideas.
