GostHacked
Beware of what you give up when playing this game. It is a huge privacy and saftey concern. I equate it to an always on live real time google maps. My prediction will that it will all be shut down in a few months.

RB
oo I thought in Canada the release is July 31, those using unauthorized downloads face the blunt of being banned (that's the worst) for the players. -1=e^ipi
Complaining? The original game series were pretty decent for their time. You can beat the game in under 2 hours if you try hard enough and get lucky:
Guest
Aren't there over 1000 pokemon now? I can't keep up. Apparently there's 151 in the current game. This man, who has family and friends, is going to try and catch them all. Boges
WTF? Can someone in the English/American world explain this to me? Confused. It's augmented reality. Instead of catching these characters in a virtual world, you find them in the real world looking into your phone. Now I'm unclear if these Pokemon are randomly placed for everyone. Or the game individually places them based on your level. We're hearing stories of people breaking onto people's property to catch a Pokemon. Or the game individually places them based on your level. We're hearing stories of people breaking onto people's property to catch a Pokemon. That is something I thought about first off. Privacy issues abound with this game. Not only that, the game has access to the camera, wifi, mic and other things. This is very scary that people are getting into this and not quite understanding what goes on behind the scenes. So with the agumented reality, you can bet the powers that be are looking through the cameras. SO a live google maps scenario, and not only outside, but INSIDE places were google maps cannot get to. This is very dangerous and to me it's quite frightening.

SO a live google maps scenario, and not only outside, but INSIDE places were google maps cannot get to. That's kind of how Waze works. They're tracking your phones so they know when you're driving and what speed your going, so they can report on traffic issues. I believe anyway. Google monitors everything unless you ask them not to. I'm at a restaurant, and it knows I'm there and asks for a review of the place. I don't mind because I'm not that important and don't envision a scenario where my location is relevant to national security. We're hearing stories of people breaking onto people's property to catch a Pokemon. Pokemon Go players under certain ages are running afoul of city curfew laws, park closing hours, trespassing, distracted walking/biking/driving, and muggings. kimmy
That link doesn't explain. Still confused. If I understand this (and I'm not sure that I do...) Pokemon was a card/strategy game. Players would have a deck of Pokemon cards and do "duels". Each card has a different Pokemon ("Pocket monster"?) character, and each character has different strengths and weaknesses. You win by playing cards from your deck that nullify your opponent's cards. There was also a Pokemon animated TV show, which dramatized these Pokemon duels... the TV show characters would duel each other but instead of using Pokemon playing cards, they would summon actual Pokemon monsters to battle. This new Pokemon Go game, as I understand it, combines the original Pokemon card game with the "augmented reality" possibilities of cell phones. Your Pokemon Go game will send you to locations to duel against another Pokemon Go player... kind of like the Pokemon animated TV show, except without actual monsters being summoned. -k

But then again... “The enemy, Satan, is targeting churches with virtual, digital, cyber-demons,” Wiles said, before adding: “I believe this thing is a magnet for demonic powers.” (...) “They’re spawning demons inside your church,” Wiles said. “They’re targeting your church with demonic activity.” He then again warned that “this technology will be used by the enemies of the cross to target, locate and execute Christians.” -k {cyber-demons!}
