Your statement is what's giving "mixed message."  If you're "policing the world" - that's not defense!

Is he expecting an attack on America?

You don't have to expect an imminent attack to have a defense.   Sheer assumption is good reason enough.

Sure, I have a gate but I only went to the extra expense of a lock when I felt like I might be attacked.

Why do you have a gate in the first place?  You mean, you up-graded.

That's no surprise.....liberals don't want to bother with defense because they plan to raise the white flag at the first sign of aggressive attack! rofl.gif

Nope, had the gate to keep the dog in the yard, felt threatened by the next door neighbor three years later so upgraded to a lock.

Does Trump feel threatened?  Is that why he's adding to his defenses?

I don't know if he feels threatened.  But I do know that only a fool of a leader wouldn't be thinking of having a defense, in case of aggression.  That goes for any person.  Especially when you have others depending on your better judgement.

I think there already was a defence which has performed well over the past decade. They weren't calling for the increases they received, at the expense of the poor and elderly. Don't you think the rich could have shouldered some of that burden if it were necessary, or do you approve of their extreme tax cuts in favour of cutting Meals on Wheels?

Ya, Trump is so jealous of Obama he is willing to throw his country's allies under the bus in order to get back at him.

Obama spied on U.S. allies as well....just ask Angela Merkel !

Sequestration budget cuts to U.S. defense spending did have an impact on military readiness...Trump seeks to restore those Obama era cuts.

...The National Defense Panel, a bipartisan commission chartered by Congress and on which we have served for the past 13 months, concluded in its recent report that the Budget Control Act of 2011 was a “serious strategic misstep” that has dangerously tied the hands of the Pentagon leadership, forcing across-the-board “sequestration” cuts in defense spending and subjecting the nation to accumulating strategic risk. The commission’s report concluded that, without budgetary relief, the U.S. armed forces soon will be at high risk of not being able to accomplish the national defense strategy.

You should have read my post, it was about  Trumps mixed messages. All military spending is called "defence" whether it is for defence or not.

Tillerson says military action against North Korea on the table.

Washington (CNN)An investigation by the German parliament is raising questions on whether the Obama administration not only spied on journalists in that country, but also interfered in the exercise of the free press under the guise of U.S. national security.

What exactly has he done to "drain the swamp"?   It appears his efforts to "drain the swamp" consist mostly of putting lobbyists out of work by hiring them to work directly for him, and make lobbying obsolete by giving corporations whatever they want.

Also, can you name one actual step he has taken to "improve economy and US workforce"?

On the news, it was pointed out when Flynn  was outed,  it was done  by the feds  and they didn't have to get an warrant because they were spying on the Russian Ambassador, their down fall was when  an American is discover within the spying, they must take the American out because its illegal to spy on American within the country and then someone sent the info to CNN, who announced. Someone  will be going to jail.

Your "man" falsely accused an ally of spying on and interfering in your presidential election.

Trump won't have anything and the crunch day is Monday when the security agencies have to tell congress what they actually know.

The committee called on 5 people, 3 refused and two, the FBI director and another  from the FBI (i think) will appear under oath. There are also 4 people who want to give evidence and they have been turned down and three of them worked for INTEL. and u won't find this on main stream media.

Other "allies" also interfered in the election, including Canada.

Spying allegations are still playing out, but could never be disclosed for obvious reasons.

You are right about this....FBI or intelligence agency assets would be very reluctant to testify candidly about such things.

It raises all kinds of issues regardless of any spying on Trump.

Oh BS unless you think expressing an opinion is the same as bugging someones home. The  US spies on and interfers with its allies elections so it is OK for the US to accuse those allies of doing the same thing whether they did or not. Why am I not surprised at that logic.

For the obvious reason that they can't be backed up and if you can't back something like that up, you keep your trap shut.

I have no problem with that as long as it includes an admission that allies do spy on the U.S. and interfere in its elections.   Hell, we caught a Canadian illegal voting in the election !

Of course ALL countries that have the ability spy, do it to each other and at times  one country may ask another country to spy on someone within that country because in some countries its illegal to spy on your own. So that being said... does any one really think Britain would say  Yeah, we spied on Trump.... no country would admit that.
