bush_cheney2004 Posted February 16, 2017 Report Posted February 16, 2017 President Trump bypassed Spicer and played Rope-A-Dope with the press today all by himself. It was a free flowing stream of consciousness interspersed with some policy hints. This is President Trump in the raw, without any pretense. It's what got him elected. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
Topaz Posted February 16, 2017 Report Posted February 16, 2017 I heard on guy today say the globalist within the US government are making Trump term a living hell, with fake or half truths and it doesn't help when people work in Intel. are against him. Roger Stone wants to testify in committee for this Russia/election scam, but there are some who are trying to stop him and another person which I forgot his name. I think there's lots going on and the main stream will not report it if it make Trump look good, except for Fox. Right now, the worse enemy the US has is it own people in D.C. Sad. Quote
bush_cheney2004 Posted February 16, 2017 Report Posted February 16, 2017 President Trump's numbers keep getting better.... Quote The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows that 55% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Forty-five percent (45%) disapprove. http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/trump_administration/prez_track_feb16 Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

CBC meeting or not, I think President Trump is correct that any outreach from a member of Congress from across the aisle would be squashed by Democratic leadership. Even the Trump supporters are remarkably silent. If they talk too much, they wind up having to say Trump made Flynn resign because the media lied about him, and that just makes Trump look weak. So they either try to change the subject (perhaps to Trudeau) or not talk at all. Quote "I think it's fun watching the waldick get all excited/knickers in a knot over something." -scribblet

It doesn't seem to matter what news channel you flip to you hear the phrase to do with "the chaos in the White House". I can only imagine it is a similar situation more and more at the GOP as well. 1 Quote

Fox & Friends seems to have tried to ignore the latest nonsense in lieu of reporting about some South American newspaper who posted a picture of Alec Baldwin playing Trump in a story that was actually about Trump. Their nose seems to be out of joint but I think most of us are laughing our heads off. Go Alec! 2 Quote
Altai Posted February 17, 2017 Report Posted February 17, 2017 The person named Flynn resigned because "Clinton side" wanted to weaken Trump. Agreed, but Trump will have to fight entrenched DC politics the whole time until it wears him down. He is not a politician, and must be frustrated by all the political games. But that's what the job entails. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
bush_cheney2004 Posted February 17, 2017 Report Posted February 17, 2017 (edited) President Trump continues to strip away Obama era rules that impacted the coal industry, just like he promised he would do. Quote Trump signed House Joint Resolution 38 Thursday afternoon, repealing the stream protection rule, which would have required coal companies to monitor water quality near mines and restore streams and waterways once mining is complete. http://www.upi.com/Top_News/US/2017/02/16/Trump-signs-repeal-of-rule-to-protect-waterways-from-coal-mining-waste/3691487291556/ http://thehill.com/policy/energy-environment/319938-trump-signs-bill-undoing-obama-coal-mining-rule Edited February 17, 2017 by bush_cheney2004 1 Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

An authoritarian couldn't have been in government unless he'd dabbled in politics - and that makes him a politician. Trump is now a politician - a rookie - since he'd never been in politics until recently. When I said he's not a politician - I meant the way he delivers (like how he addressed the press con yesterday). Quote

But in terms of using taxpayers' money to fund a lavish lifestyle, he's a quick study at some of the sleazier qualities of politicians. A $10 million travel budget in the first month is unprecedented. Obama spent $100 million over the full eight years back when Republicans complained about such things. Omni Posted February 17, 2017 Report Posted February 17, 2017 Apparently after that gong show of a press conference yesterday, (The New York Post went so far as to call it the wildest show on earth), Trump campaign sent out a request for supporters to fill out a Mainstream Media Accountability Survey to defend against media "hit jobs". The questions are of course about as subjective as you would imagine.
