What's More Important, Free Right of Speech or More Irritating?

I see no difference from his/her posts than from Rue's or the formula guy. And not many posters respond to those either so where do you draw the line with 'promoting discussion' and banning posters and/or threads.

Exactly, if member Exegesisme isn't breaking forum rules with his posts, I see no reason for the dog pile.

We took down a bunch of verse. It was not prose.

I hope they would revive my taken-down thread, or we could discuss it through other ways.

You can revive it yourself. Before we took it down, we quoted it and sent it back to you with our message.

If you want to discuss your verse, you may re-post it but you must initiate the discussion with your own thoughts and explanation of your work. You can not just post a poem. It is that simple.

Although I agree all your explanation, I can not continue here without revival of my taken-down thread for it is the top and core of my whole work, which also touches the top and core of western civilization.

This forum is not the venue for your work. You can not use this forum as a blog site for all of your art.

If you want to start a discussion with a thesis or dissertation, you are welcome to do so but you can not use this forum as a bulletin board for all of your art.

MOD BIAS ON: I want you to continue to be a member here in the forum actively participating in the discussions. I do not want you expelled. Please conform with our standards and our interventions.

I define myself as an artist. I am sympathetic to your expression here in the forum. A long-time ago, I hosted a spoken word art radio show. I am very familiar with hosting and fostering language arts to the dull public. It is not easy but it is a 2-way street. The audience must be patient. The artist must pay attention and feed the audience.

You clearly need help in your expression and I am willing to give you advice if you wish. I do not find your writing interesting but I am moved by your earnest attempts to express yourself.

If you want to re-post your art, go ahead but you MUST introduce your thoughts and explain your art. I will not ban you. You are 1 of a kind here in this forum. I would much rather take down and send back every post that does not initiate nor address the discussion adequately.

I find this post BS. Simply because of the posts you allow from rue and that formula guy.

Those guys ramble on and on and you do nothing to curb their posts. It's weird to me.

What's the difference?

In other words, Exegesisme's metaphysical posts are welcome, if they are linked to a discussion on their content?

My new poems of Holy Woman will be all in this thread: http://www.mapleleafweb.com/forums/topic/25481-4-love-in-loves-holy-woman/ .

Ok I've read a little bit since, you know tl;dr kicked in since I'm lazy as f^ck.

Don't understand why the poems were taken down. Maybe confine them to the single thread to not clutter things up and continue to encourage discussion about them.

I could get into discussing them if I wasn't heading into tax and then audit season at work (I do have a BA in philosophy after all so I'm not just a stoopid CPA) but my new rule is to limit my interactions with posters who insult me as being "lazy" such as you have done, or an "idiot" and as "simple" as certain other posters have done so sometimes people don't realize how much they have ruined a discussion unintentionally (my self included in this criticism).

Charles explained it - the pieces were not posted in a way to promote discussion. There's a new understanding, I think, that they will be framed in that way.

E's first approach at that is here, I think, with 4 or 5 pieces at the end of the thread with some discussion points highlighted:

I keep it in one thread. I don't spam threads so that entire forums are littered with threads by a single person.

And your mathturbation is actually a political topic worth discussing most of the time. On the other hand, this isn't a writer's circle for people to share their prose with the class.

I think the moderator already addressed the context of said posts, in that they should contain a basis for a discussion, in the appropriate area of the forum..............I don't how MLW would consider philosophical poetry on religion off key, but allow topics on Star Wars, favorite music and the Toronto Blue Jays.........

I agree...this little exercise in topic bias has been very interesting considering some of the member responses/reactions. Fascinating....

There are lots of posts that do not promote discussion. I have posted in some of those threads that the thread is going off the rails, but my posts got deleted.

I am rethinking finishing off my "report" of my trip to the Galapagos and Ecudaor in my thread in the travel section because of the questions raised in this thread.

In hindsight my thread is coming across too much like travel porn masturbation: does not necessarily facilitate discussion, can be viewed as being elitist (don't want to be like Trudeau and get criticized for spending my own money), I can rightly be asked to "get my own travel blog!" or to find my own travel writers group, etc.....

Why would you do that? I haven't read the thread, but I would think, if its in the appropriate section of the forum and not meant to cause offense, you should be good to go, regardless if I'm not personally interested or others call into question your mental state.

If all this forum is meant for is to recycle a handful of generic topics, it should be no surprise it has dwindling use.......likewise, if current members are always quick to jump on new members (That might be new to English).....

Sorry Derek, perhaps I should not have chosen your post as the springboard fo those thoughts when I am really being critical of certain ideas posted here by other posters.

At least my travel blog posting thread is in prose and not verse so maybe its ok after all.
