eyeball Posted November 15, 2014 Report Posted November 15, 2014 With any luck at all we'll have a left wing minority government for years - or at least long enough to make right wingers start yearning for proportional representation for a change.... Not. Quote A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.
jbg Posted November 16, 2014 Report Posted November 16, 2014 I doubt that, and I doubt a majority either the frst time out of the gate. However the Liberal + NDP numbers in the House may make progress possible on some important progressive issues. . Are the Pearson minorities your example? Quote Free speech: "You can say what you want, but I don't have to lend you my megaphone." Always remember that when you are in the right you can afford to keep your temper, and when you are in the wrong you cannot afford to lose it. - J.J. Reynolds. Will the steps anyone is proposing to fight "climate change" reduce a single temperature, by a single degree, at a single location? The mantra of "world opinion" or the views of the "international community" betrays flabby and weak reasoning (link).
overthere Posted November 19, 2014 Report Posted November 19, 2014 This discussion is useless. I predicted a Liberal majority in 2015 a long time and I'm sticking to it. There won't be a need to merge. JT will be the world's next great progressive leader. Many NDPers will flock to JT. Just watch and see. All the current NDP seats plus all the current Liberal seats add up to another Harper majority. Quote Science too hard for you? Try religion!
PIK Posted November 19, 2014 Report Posted November 19, 2014 People are getting sick and tired of these progressive leaders, his father did enough damage to the country. Liberalism is a dying failed breed. Quote Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.
eyeball Posted November 19, 2014 Report Posted November 19, 2014 So is conservatism and for the same reason. People are getting sick and tired of being lead around in circles. Forwards here backwards over there, sometime both directions at once...maybe when enough people are tired of being sick of it all they'll finally snap and something different will happen. Quote A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.
Michael Hardner Posted November 19, 2014 Report Posted November 19, 2014 Liberalism is a dying failed breed. That's a strange outlook. There are social programs including national healthcare in pretty much every major economy, progressive taxation everywhere, global environmental agreements... The list goes on. Failure never looked so successful. Quote Click to learn why Climate Change is caused by HUMANS Michael Hardner
PIK Posted November 19, 2014 Report Posted November 19, 2014 Social programs do not just belong to the so called progressives. They motto is, if it is not broke ,break it. Quote Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.
Michael Hardner Posted November 19, 2014 Report Posted November 19, 2014 Social programs do not just belong to the so called progressives. They motto is, if it is not broke ,break it. Since when ? If you declare social programs to be conservative ideology, then I guess you can make a better case that liberalism hasn't taken root. What else would you like to move over to the conservative column ? How about equal rights for LBGT? people ? That has recently dropped off the outrage list in the deep south, presumably because it's not liberal anymore... Quote Click to learn why Climate Change is caused by HUMANS Michael Hardner
socialist Posted November 19, 2014 Report Posted November 19, 2014 All the current NDP seats plus all the current Liberal seats add up to another Harper majority. Yes, but many CPC seats will be red after next election. The Liberals have made huge gains in all the by-elections, including those in CPC strongholds. Trudeau is open and transparent and honest. The general public appreciates that and considers it a breath of fresh air. Quote Thankful to have become a free thinker.
PIK Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 Trudeau open nominations is going well. And that is fresh air. I will say he was transparent on the 2 guys that he has ruined their reputations .And only liberals can call a 10pt defeat a win. PIK Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 Harper is a leader in this country on gay rights. Lets look at the progressives in ONT with their new sex ed, that really turns the education system into a pornograghic producer. What they will show kids would put the rest of us in jail, and one of the planners of this program is under charges of being a major child pornographer. Progressives has gone over the deep edge with this, let the kid be innocent. Quote Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.
The_Squid Posted November 21, 2014 Report Posted November 21, 2014 Harper is a leader in this country on gay rights. Really? When did he change his mind about gay rights? Was he wrong all this time up until he was elected and then suddenly became a champion go gay rights? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xFbPz6hMa1c Quote
overthere Posted November 21, 2014 Report Posted November 21, 2014 Harper has not revoked same sex marriage or changed abortion laws or cancelled universal health care. PIK Posted November 21, 2014 Report Posted November 21, 2014 You can certainly tell by trudeau's actions. he will make harper look like a boyscout when it comes to how much of a control freak trudeau will be. He is going have to get a island for all his castaways. And it now seems the guy that is not allowed to run against the general, had a lot more support then the general has, you think those people are going support trudeau after that. Lets return to the good old corrupted Quebec politician days. Quote Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.

PrimeNumber Posted November 21, 2014 Report Posted November 21, 2014 Harper is a leader in this country on gay rights. I showed this comment to a few conservative supporters I work with. They all had a good laugh at it too. Is there an award on this forum for funniest post? I know who I'm nominating. Quote “Be like water making its way through cracks. PIK Posted November 21, 2014 Report Posted November 21, 2014 Jacee, it is hard to find out because they are to embarrassed about it. I wish people would look into this. It is pathetic. And this guys prints are all over it. Google benjamin Levin former deputy minster for education for ont and his child porn charges . My comp won't let me cut and paste for some reason. But lets for once we both put the partisan BS away and take a look at it and see what you can find. I will bet what they want to teach kids and very young age will sicken you. PIK Posted November 21, 2014 Report Posted November 21, 2014 And on gay rights who is leading the charge against countries that are against gays? Harper has been. Quote Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.

It is still the secret part of His Secret Agenda. He'd better hurry up, he'll run out of time soon. Harper knows better than even talk about revoking same sex marriage. There are no abortion laws to change and he knows better than to even get into that debate as well. He has arranged for cutbacks to health care by reducing future transfer payments, and if we leave him to it we'll end up with rich private insurance companys and poor healthcare outcomes, ala US. He is running out of time and that's a good thing for the country. Quote
PIK Posted November 21, 2014 Report Posted November 21, 2014 Funny how all the old liberal talking pts about evil harper never came true, but they will under trudeau. Quote Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.

On Guard for Thee Posted November 22, 2014 Report Posted November 22, 2014 Ah now you're back to your false version of the future again. The only part of my comment that is "future" oriented is when the healthcare xfer payments begin to get cut, and that is based on a budget that already exists. so all in all it's not false and it's not really future. jacee Posted November 22, 2014 Report Posted November 22, 2014 Trudeau is Catholic. Against the same things. Non starter. The Vatican is. Canadians don't answer to them. Trudeau obviously thinks differently. . Quote
