PIK Posted September 16, 2014 Report Posted September 16, 2014 The only people who wait weeks or months or years are the ones who can. If Rob Ford has liver cancer or lung cancer, he's not waiting and neither is anyone else. If you show up to an ER with chest pains, they're checking you out right away. You're not waiting. If people want to pay out of pocket to a private clinic to have scans and tests done, that's fine, but let's not pretend that people are dropping like flies because they can't get an examination done in the public system. Got the $750, get one right away in Gatineau. Quote Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.
overthere Posted September 16, 2014 Report Posted September 16, 2014 Or you can show up and the Doc deems it pretty bad and voila, scan, operation and good to go. Yep. Depends on severity. There is a differnce between an immediate injury and a degenerative condition. Hockey players injured at the rink can often get Xrays performed right there at team expense, or at the hospital. If I show up at the hospital with a broken leg, I get treated quickly too. But pro sports teams do their own treatment after the emergency stuff, their own physio and all that. At their expense. jacee Posted September 17, 2014 Report Posted September 17, 2014 We probably don't need a new thread for this. No kidding. At first glance I thought the thread title was Rob Ford Abdominal Tour. I thought he and Dougie were hawking video footage of Rob's colonoscopy ... for campaign donations. Seriously. I mean seriously ... tumour topic? really? hohum . Quote
guyser Posted September 17, 2014 Report Posted September 17, 2014 I thought he and Dougie were hawking video footage of Rob's colonoscopy .They tried , but Joe Warmington kept popping up in the video Quote

Boges Posted September 17, 2014 Report Posted September 17, 2014 Liposarcoma. So basically fat cancer. He'll need Chemo. Quote

Shady Posted September 18, 2014 Report Posted September 18, 2014 Well I started out making fun of a whole thread topic about an abdominal tour ... er ... tumour, but the whole Joe Warmington thing ... can't help it ... it just cracks me up ! . That's how I felt about Jack Layton's cancer, but for other reasons. Sometimes you can't help when you find certain things funny! Quote
guyser Posted September 18, 2014 Report Posted September 18, 2014 That's how I felt about Jack Layton's cancer, but for other reasons. Sometimes you can't help when you find certain things funny!Good on ya shady, missed the point entirely. Quote
Black Dog Posted September 18, 2014 Report Posted September 18, 2014 Since Shady mentioned Jack Layton, thought I'd look back and see what our resident Arbiter of Good Taste had to say about Jack's post mortem politicking: Not quite as classless as a politician using his death for political talking points. However, if you wanna see a politician handling a similar situation with actual class, read Reagan's letter to the American people. No politics at all in it.Reagan's Letter To The American People Worth keeping in mind as Rob Ford campaigns from his hospital bed, using his illness as a political talking point, if you will. Quote
cybercoma Posted September 18, 2014 Report Posted September 18, 2014 What's your point, Black Dog? Obviously Shady finds Rob Ford, "classless." Quote
BubberMiley Posted September 18, 2014 Report Posted September 18, 2014 That's how I felt about Jack Layton's cancer, but for other reasons. Sometimes you can't help when you find certain things funny! You can help talking about it though. If I were classless enough to find Rob Ford's cancer funny, I wouldn't be classless enough to talk about it here. You could learn a lesson in restraint. Shady Posted September 18, 2014 Report Posted September 18, 2014 You guys still don't get it. It's not the mere presence of a letter. It's the contents within. The fact that Saint Jack had to take shots at the current government, and Canada in general, in a letter that's suppose to be for all Canadians, ie, even one's supportive of the current government, is completely and utterly classless. He can stuff his letter up his arse. Quote
BubberMiley Posted September 18, 2014 Report Posted September 18, 2014 He can stuff his letter up his arse. You still don't get it. What I was saying is it's one thing to have no class, but it's another thing to repeatedly trumpet how you have no class. You never learn (which is what keeps me coming back here ). Boges Posted September 19, 2014 Report Posted September 19, 2014 Rob Ford shouldn't talk publicly anymore. He made a statement yesterday. Cool. Now keep your struggle to yourself and your family. You're completely within your rights to run for that council seat. If you don't die, you'll have a job to go back to. Ford shouldn't use this as a political tool. I do find the people that fein sympathy for him but ad that he should drop out of politics. If you're going to say that, just keep it to yourself no one is fooled that you actually think you want him to go away for the good of his health. Quote
cybercoma Posted September 19, 2014 Report Posted September 19, 2014 I said before he got cancer that he should go away for the good of his health and I still think he should go away for the good of his health. The guy is a raging alcoholic and is addicted to some of the worst drugs on the planet. That alone requires his full attention for recovery. Now he's struggling with an aggressive cancer. It's nice that he's passionate about politics, but his life, literally his life, should be more important than political power. The problem is he's also addicted to the limelight and attention, just as he's addicted to alcohol, narcotics, and unhealthy foods. He gets a rush from politics and he's never going to give that up without a substantial amount of personal effort. It's all part of his addictive personality, which I think needs to be the entire focus of his will and strength. Quote
