I do not know a single person in my family, circle of friends or little town in the boonies I've lived in for 45 years who's experience with the medical system has differed from mine. I've not heard of a single case of bankruptcy either.

Doesn't mean it doesn't happen, does it? Surely you're aware of what happens outside of your family, circle of friends and little town in the boonies.

Sorry you had to wait that long.....sad.

Are you kidding? One of them even offered to drive me to the hospital himself.

I was in admitting for 3 minutes, then led into my room and and I was going beep, beep beep with tubes with running in and out of me about 20 minutes later.

I have to admit it did seem like forever but that was probably just the drugs.

Yes, most of my family and many of my friends live in cities and towns across Canada and not a one of them report anything like what you're imagining.

Not a single one.

So you all report your medical experiences to one another on a regular basis? Interesting.

Again. Doesn't mean it doesn't happen; it means some aren't aware of what others are experiencing.

So doctors in Canada provide care on the basis of how much they like the attitude of the patient?

Well, they're probably all socialists so I suspect Shady was probably as full of himself as usual and went in with a bunch of hard-assed assumptions that rubbed his doctor the wrong way.

I don't know of any doctors that have the time to drive people to the hospital. So they cook dinner for you too?

Yet you knowingly keep making irrelevant comments about the rate of deaths, so I can't help but wonder why if you understand that it has nothing to do with donation rates.

Merely pointing out that a country with a greater rate of violent deaths among young people will have a larger pool of eligible donors. I have acknowledged several times that Canadians don't do particularly well when it comes to signing up to be donors. I don't know what else you expect.

Interesting how you keep harping on this point but don't want to touch the subject of pre existing conditions.

And the doctor then acts on that? Do you have to bow down and kiss the doctor's behind in order to get medical care in a timely fashion? - because if the doctor doesn't like your attitude, you get put on a wait list?

I've already touched the subject of pre-existing conditions.

Interesting how you keep harping on something that you acknowledge is irrelevant.

With Facebook and what have you these days, yes just about always.

Again. Doesn't mean it doesn't happen; it means some aren't aware of what others are experiencing.

All it means is that no one else I know is aware of anyone experiencing what you're talking about either.

Wow...that's scarier than plain old garden variety Canadian lack of health care resources. Maybe they have to slip the GP a little sumptin' sumptin' under the table ? :P

GP's in Canada are private business people just like in the US. The difference is in who pays the bill. I bet there are more than a few American doctors who would boot you out of their office if they didn't like your attitude.

Keep your head in the sand.

People like you really bug me, because you prevent any much needed reform from taking place.

No not me, but it does beg the question, do you Yanks have the option to check into hard-assed right-wing hospitals so as to avoid the embarrassment of being forced into a socialist facilities?

Wow. That's the only difference, eh? So Canadians aren't all entitled to/guaranteed the same access to health care. It's dependent on whether or not the doctor likes them. Good to know!
